I deserve a smite

So the other day i kicked a member from my game that I GM. Due to his random posts that had nothing to do with the story line. I admit i was a bit harsh with him but i had given him ample time to build but he never seemed to. Anyways I havent heard from pyroboom in a bit and his game doesnt seem to be moving along at all and i think he has left. So i say i am sorry to the inn for losing one of its innmates and i believe i may deserve a smite for this. If pyroboom is still on and active I am sorry i didnt mean to be hard on you or anything.

For the record...

...if you're GMing a game and one of your players isn't "keeping up", "following the storyline", or "making random, nonsensical posts" booting them from the game is what you should do (after warnings and offering assistance, of course)... You're the GM, after all. You've got a responsibility to make your game enjoyable for all of your players and, if one of those players continually derails things, goes out of bounds, or whatever, and you've tried repeatedly to nudge them back on track, you can either let it go (running the risk of taking the enjoyment out of the game for yourself and the other players) or you can boot the "offender" and continue on (most likely with much more enjoyment for everyone else concerned).

Booting a player is not really a smite-worthy offense. Sure, it might earn you a smite from the booted player but, if booted for "valid" reasons and not just out of spite, then I wouldn't expect anyone else to ding you for it...

Also, I'm pretty sure I've seen pyroboom on in the last 24 hours so, I don't think you've run him off. He's relatively new at this whole thing, I'm sure... and apparently pretty young... he'll lurk and learn and play and learn just like the rest of us have...

Agreed

*raises a glass*

Here here!

Eol is completely right. I have had to have conversations with some of my players in the past. I have booted one or two as well do to lack of posting anf ailing to even respond to my PMs. Unfortunately, that responsibility comes with the territory of being a GM.

you don't deserve a smite

but sometimes I think Pyro does. I've been working with him on his writing skills. How he is making a "B" in advanced language arts is beyond me.

Like his dad, he has to learn things the hard way.

Well we can't all be artistically multi-talented now can we?

sorry malek

Well, I'm sorry I hurt your game but again I was just trying to make a point. But at first I agreed with you, but now I agree with these others. You don't deserve a smite. Oh and abviously I am not gone, but please don't tell me I'm talking to konwbody because you haven't posted anywhere I know of. If your still around then please, don't be mad, because I stopped holding a grudge when my friend told me not to. What about you? If you're still alive then post here or in my game.

P.S.That was just a joke, I didn't really think you were dead.
