Your map for this webcomic, can I have it?

I think this dungeon is bloody brilliant and want to take portions of it and use it to make my players cry. Any chance there can be a pdf of the DM's map and notes put up please?

Thanks for your interest. Hopefully we get more strips up soon. Anyway waaaay back on Issue #1 Olan stated the module was based off of "An Icy Grave" by Mads Hvelplund.

It may not be exact, but here is the module, including a map.

Linky linky

yep

Admiral nailed it with the link. I took that module and customized it a bit to fit within Audalis and my own campaign, but that's the original source material.

Be nice and let the original author know that you enjoyed it and that you got it from Loaded Dice.

*peeks around corner*

And Welcome to the Inn, DeadlyDM! *waggity-waggity-wag!* Glad you like Loaded Dice. Hopefully a new strip is sooner rather than later. Poke around, there's tons of fun to be had here!

Many thanks for the link love, Admiral--I've long had my own questions as to this adventure's beginnings/source material!

yep

Not to mention the background for the adventure would make a great entry for the Legends of Audalis contest!

Thanks for the warm welcomes and the info!

Well lads, I now look forward to Friday with this source material. I hope to do the DM of this a little justice with the amount of killing I intend to do of my players. They are currently level 10 and that means I get to add things that can kill them, how exciting!

8 men enter, 3 men leave

Well, our bold adventurer party (of 8 souls) arrived on scene to the monastery. The party consists of a Radiant Servant of Pelor (RSoP to make it shorter), a Hospatalier (paladin with fewer spells and more combat abilities), a gnome druid, a human barbarian, a dwarf ranger with a musket, a human rogue, a human cleric to the god of magic, and an elven monk entered.

I played with their heads a bit using the old "you hear a door slam shut right after they open one" trick which, to my pleasure, they took the bait and ended up in a cloakroom. My RSoP and the druid have to leave for other endeavors out of game, and the party chooses to trudge on. Then I had a room set up with an acid trap (2d6 first round, 1d6 second round) and a room with three skeletons and four zombies. I had set my zombies with using bite any time they would get a full round attack and only a DM natural 19 or 20 would allow the zombies to successfully bite. What I didn't expect is for the DM to have some hot dice that evening. Our Hospatalier boldly surges into a the monster room using shield bash, and is bitten twice by zombies. As he is dying my players, rightly and without meta-gaming, cast a shield on him and try and heal him. By the time the heals come around, he's already turned and the cleric receives pain post heal lets him know things have gone horribly astray. Cue the Hospatalier becoming a zombie and striking at his friends. He then bites the Barbarian, rolls a natural 20 on his bite, and now we have a second party member on his way to the great beyond. All party members are given a chance to spot the attack and see if the bite draws blood, all succeed. Now's when things get interesting. We have 2 zombies left alive, a PC zombie, and a skeleton. The party votes an all out route of the temple and leaving the Barbarian to heroically die and become a zombie while fighting off the NPC's. The rogue, cleric, and monk think this sounds like a great idea, but the Ranger has other ideas. He starts attacking the NPC's and when there is only one NPC left he says he wants to kill off the other PC to keep his honor rather than let him become a zombie. Fight scene between the three combatants ensues as the rest of the party protects their skins and heads for the exit.

Long story short? I killed off two players Friday, one remained behind and became trapped in the monastery from his friends barring the door, and they still have to come back to the temple.

And I loved it.
