Lack of attendence

I had not internet to get on RDInn the last few weeks, so that is why I have not been posting. Hopefully I will have interwebz where I reside during school by the 6th of Jan. And I am at my parents until the Christmas Eve, so I will be able to post until then.

kinda sorta

But we just kind of did this all in an evening... not anyone else's fault but our own. I am kind of scared where Lloyd is taking it all though... sorry, but I am playing him as I see him acting... I also just got a book that delves into the alignment of my character a bit more... so I am better able to play him.

If Lloyd ends up being dismissed from the group, I will make a more friendly character... I just want to try my hand at Lloyd's kind

for teh lawls!

Your good at acting out the character thats for sure, I'm only concerned that if him and Sylvia, or whoever else, keep at it someones going to end up prematurely dead or worse, we might end up involving NPCs in conflict XD lol.

Haha

I love how both characters are accusing each other of being childish while being terribly childish themselves XD

I hope things don't all fall apart with this conflict (that's the point at which I'd have to step in and tell people to behave).

Interested to see how the rest are going to react to this shebang. I get the sense that Sordin or Ortlieb might try to mediate these flaring tempers, but I don't know their characters yet exactly.

As a final cautionary note from the GM's dispute-solving handbook, while it may be 'what your character would do', sometimes it's not always to the best advantage to stick hard to that idea. After all, your character is still under your own control (well, there are debates about how much your character is under your control after it takes on a life of its own, but if curbing those self-destructive tendencies would be irreconcilably out-of-character, then, as Shades suggested, perhaps a new character would be better).

Anyway, those are my two-moderating-cents. I hope we can keep the dispute within control enough to still move on. After all, party-conflict just adds more spice to the plot!

Oh also

Oh, also, while I have your attention, we should probably start deciding quickly what we're going to do next. It's been fun 'n' all, but to actually progress in the game we have to eventually set off in a direction and Make Kings... or something like that. I'm a little fuzzy on the details.

Anyway, after the 'trial' we get to decide which way we want to point our feet. We have two options, that I see. Well, I guess many options, but two that matter.

1. Trace down the bandit camp ASAP (in whatever fashion we deem so necessary, whether using one of the captives as a guide, tracking with Ortlieb, or picking a direction and going until we find it.) Simply adventure as fast as possible to eliminate the Thorn River Camp (by that name alone, how many people can look at the map and guess it's location? There are a lot of rivers, mind you, and the map is outdated.) and deal with things there before exploring and mapping the rest of the Greenbelt.

2. Picking a random direction and begin mapping immediately. To clarify, your mission is to thoroughly explore the area, which is different from simply passing through the square (we didn't work that out at first in our first game... we were exploring three hexes a day XD). Maybe find the bandit camp like that, maybe find them when they come back for revenge one day to the fort.

bandits, or pissing around.

Id say we deal with the bandits first, and this Stag Lord whatsit, once the initial threat has been routed, unless Owen pulls a plot device and the guards arriving are enough to provide the fort as a sort of safe haven/checkpoint, hereby making the bandits reduntant till we actually come across them. Im in favour of dealing with the bandits and stag lord first, or at the very least waiting about till the guards show up, so we can be assured a safe haven, and that we wont be stuck heck knows where screwed with no where to return to lol.

Aria's votishness

Aria's opinion will be to deal with the bandit camp, thereby making safe the base from immediate counter attack, thus allowing for the arrival of the guards. Mr lord of quadruped beasties with horns though, she wouldn't think about taking on just yet. Not enough info.

Plans

Sordin would definitely agree with going after the bandit camp first. But before that I think we should be asking for more details specific to the layout of the camp. I think telling Oleg to kill the bandits if we do not return in a certain amount of time would be a good idea to make them more cooperative with us. Of course Sordin would suggest it only as a bluff.

o_o

Well now....stuff happening. Lots of stuff.

Sooo, Ortlieb is would probably suggest going after the bandits first, particularly once he finds out that Happs thinks Kressle will put her back up quickly/attack us. But he'll also feel the need to go find Sylvia and sort things out with her, since they seem to share a common bond.

Also, as to the leadership suggestions: Ortlieb understands and probably agrees with the need of an unofficial leader anyway, or at least someone who everyone will listen to in a tight spot. He will be less enthused about being that leader, but he might be persuaded with difficulty or simply by necessity, if the group is breaking down and he's the only one people are going to listen to. (Though I don't really know why...o_o).

Meeeeeeeediator

I think it's quite simple really. Between the different character archetypes we possess here, the one who can get others to listen to them without escalation will need a relatively neutral voice, able to auspistice between parties of differing opinion. As a druid, Ortlieb has kind of that neutral voice to him. Or at least looks that way.

As for the leader thing, I know Aria's of the personal opinion that it's not really necessary; in a tight jam, someone is bound to be able to improvise something. Previous designation of a leader won't necessarily change who the someone is in each situation.

Of course, Aria's also of the opinion that such organizational level isn't necessary at this point, because it's just another layer of organization. She is chaotic after all

Understandable

True, true. I can see that druids, or at least Ortlieb, can more easily reconcile different opinions because of the order of nature, etc.

I can also see it happening without the official designation, although I'm sure Lloyd would be more satisfied if someone was chosen, if only so he can have someone specific to rage at when things don't go like he hoped. xD

Onto the next part, maybe.

Alright, everyone has posted at least once or so, so I just wanted to say that I'll be moving things along pretty soon here. Clearly, if there is anything left that you feel needs to be covered direly, you can with backpost.
It seems everyone's about had their say and issues thrown up. To leave it go on much longer would mostly just be to restate points and continue the discussion for RP purposes (which again, could be done in backpost).

By the way, as previously mentioned, unclaimed merchandise from the looting of the bandits is sold to Oleg. Don't worry if you later want in on some of this, you can still buy it back at the same price. The stuff that is to be liquidated is: -Leather Armour (4), Longbows (3), Short Sword (3)

In other words, all the useless items that a well-armed party has no use for usually =3

Y'all get another 10(4) + 75(3) + 10(3) = 145G to Total Party Loot
