By Sword or Spell?

Hmmm, at least three dozen goblins attacking our friends, and both the dwarf and the elf with more than just cause to go on a killing spree... (not to say Rex and Cal can't but, you know)

Thoughts on how to play this one guys?

Rex ...

..... would be a bit on the cautious side as to fully survey the area to determine what they are up against .....

but the Halflings seem to be in a bit of a jam!

Hmm

Maybe a diversion to draw out the most goblins. hit them with some power full magic and have someone or two sneak in and get the halfings and wagon. What do ya think?

yep

My thoughts exactly. Of course that would mean Danamar would be the one doing the sneaking, I guess. And he might miss most of the fun. Perhaps a little plant growth might help though.

How about we try to lure the goblins away from the halflings and Danamar casts Plant Growth to slow them down? 150 foot radius would slow the ones caught in the center down for a fairly long time.

Interesting

Sounds like a good course of action. Now it is just a matter of devising the distraction/lure...

I will be it. Myself an Orion could do it. The question is what to do?

Hmm...

We'd likely have to be closer to see what the goblins are armed with; we don't need anyone shot full of goblin arrows or the like while trying to lure them away from the halflings.

Pin cushion

I agree, and also how big is this open area. Hammer can you give us a little more info of the area please. Like how far in the camp is, is it flat and level or rough and rocky. I have an idea but need more info.

Alternatively

We also have a few spell options available to us.

Specifically, the spells invisibility (Sir Cal) and Sanctuary (Toraad) come to mind.

The first could help in positioning, or even in assisting Danamar and/or Rex reach the halflings undetected.

Especially if a knight and a dwarf go about creating a ruckus. Sanctuary could offer temporary protection to the cleric amidst the Goblins should he get overwhelmed, or the pin cushion scenario is realized (provided he can get the spell off). Now there is the question of mobility to consider as well. I can double my speed by ditching my armour; and shield of faith could aid offer some means of protection (I'd be AC 15 after the spell rather than 17 I have now, i think)...hmm

Thoughts and theories?

This situation is delicate if we mean to ensure the safety of the halflings.

Although Toraad must correct his earlier errors, and Steel calls for the end of all enemies engaged....
