A question.

My laptop meets all the system specs for Skyrim except for the graphics card. Instead of having a dedicated graphics card my laptop uses an Intel intergrated chipset. The problem I had/may still have is that the chipset only had a maximum RAM of 300 and something MB... through the instalation of new drivers and general system maintenence stuff I've managed to boost the max RAM to 1.7GB (who knew new drivers and maintenence would make such a difference?) but it's dedicated RAM is still only 64MB.

Skyrim required 512MB RAM as minimum specs and 1GB of RAM as the recomended specs for the graphics card.

My question is this: Should I be able to play Skyrim on my current system giving the improvements to the graphics chipset RAM and that my laptop meets all other specs?

PS: General RAM is 4GB (recomended for Skyrim is 4 and minimum is 2), I guess that is important as that's probably where the graphics chipset will steal the extra RAM it needs, and I have Pixel Shader version 4 and Vertex Shader version 4 which are apparently the other graphics requirements.

Hmmmm....

...good question, Loki! I'd say that, given the phenominal graphics in the game, if you could get it to run you might have to go really "low end" on the graphics output in order to keep things from bogging down during gameplay... This, of course, will make the visuals slightly less than spectacular but should, at least, make it playable. *shrugs*

I'd recommend buying a new graphics card, myself, though. Just sayin'...
