White House Down... What did you Think?

Just got back from seeing White House Down and I have to say I liked it a little better then Olympus Has Fallen for one main reason. The pairing of Jamie Foxx as the president and Channing Tatum as his rescuer. The two together on screen while still playing on the seriousness of the situation still managed to effectively add a comedic element that Olympus has Fallen did not have.

The premise once again is terrorist mercenary’s take over the White House. However the way the bad guys in this movie, highly trained former soldiers along with radical homegrown militia, do so is more stealthy and still somewhat bloody it’s no where near the level as they did in Olympus.

Honestly, though Olympus had way more action and explosions and Gerald Butler makes a much more believable hard ass good guy then Tatum, there was just that chemistry between Foxx and Tatum that brought out a good feeling watching it. Oh and lets not forget Tatum’s young daughter, though used as every other family member from Die Hard, to Taken, to most good guy vs. bad guy family on site flicks, she has a spunk all her own when the time comes.

So if you’re looking for a good action picture with just the right amount of humor here is hopefully a good choice. As with all my movie threads feel free to post your reviews but as always please no spoilers.
