Your Top Disney Movies?

Just a for fun topic... give me your top five Disney movies. Note that this is extremely tough for me, as I love me some Disney.

1. The Lion King (best villain song of all)
2. Toy Story (but Toy Story 3 is excellent, and it makes me cry every freaking time)
3. The Princess and the Frog (love the music, love the princess, second best villain song)
4. Mulan (stirring music, nice plot)
5. The Jungle Book (a classic, bittersweet at the end)

Sadly, I left so many deserving titles off the list...

So, what are yours?

Good choice. Black Cauldron - nice "deep cut", there.

Hmm

I like some of the old live action. Just watched Davey Crockett and the River Pirates with my 8 year old. Brings back memories when I would watch Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights. Also the Love Bug and 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. Both 20,000 and Davey Crockett have some fun songs in them. But this is just my 2 cents.

in noparticular order...

Great Mouse Detective
Bugs Life
Little Mermaid
Aladdin
Sword in the Stone

And yes this is very hard, especially since Pixar joined the Disney family....

Oh geez!

The top 5?!?! I dunno if I can do it... as Meri said, in no particular order:

  • Robin Hood (cuz it's Robin Hood!!!)
  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (just gotta that scene where the dwarves are getting washed up for dinner... Grumpy's dialogue in particular cracks me up.)
  • The Lion King (Hakuna Matata is such a wonderful phrase.)
  • Flight of the Navigator (just a really cool flick, loads of fun to watch with the kids on a cold, rainy Saturday.)
  • The Avengers!!! (I kid, of course... Although it was a good movie and is technically a Disney flick, it's not exactly what the boss was looking for on this list, I don't guess... how about we pull out Fantasia instead?)

Hurm

1) Aladdin (Love the music, love the characters)
2) Lion King
3) Mulan
4) Robin Hood (My first Disney film I saw back when Disney had a show on every Sunday - The Wonderful World of Disney?)
5) Beauty and the Beast

Note - I do not consider the early Pixar films to be Disney)

hrm

Have to agree to disagree... to me, Pixar films are Disney films. I mean, c'mon... Buzz and Woody have been available for autographs at Disney parks since those films debuted.

Ohh

Does anyone remember the Dexter Riley films? I those great movies for the family. They are a bit campy but fun. Also Mary Poppins and Bednobs and Broomsticks.

So Darth

Just because the accountants took over Disney does not mean that they own the soul of creativity.
