Welcome

Hey Dragoon, welcome to the Inn.

I'm not familiar with the "series 1 generation 1" rulebook you mentioned. Usually in DnD "CN" is the shorthand for "Chaotic Neutral", one of 9 "alignments" that your character might choose.

If you can, could you describe the book a bit more... i.e. which rule system is the book (4thE DnD, 3.x DnD, Pathfinder, etc), and who is the publisher of the book?

Thanks!
Ayrn

Found it

Hi again, Dragoon,

I did a little online google searching. I believe you are talking about the D&D Basic Rules Set. In the basic rules set "CN" stands for "coins" and is the measurement unit they use for encumbrance.

For conversion purposes, 1 coin equal 1/10 of a pound (or 10 coins equals 1 lb). Page 32 states, that a character starts with the basic encumbrance of 300 cn without armor. If the character adds armor, their encumbrance jumps up to 700 cn, which means their speed is decreased.

I know you asked folks to email you back... but this is the best I can do at the moment. Hope you have a chance to come back!

The old ways?

The battle-hardened Kyle of Westhelm, Battle Cleric of the Sea Goddess, takes up his tankard, ‘Dog come’. He and his dog approach the new one called Dragoon and the most Honorable Diplomat Ayrn, ‘Well spoken Ayrn.’ He gives a low bow to Ayrn, ‘The CN is a form of measurement for encumbrance in the old ways. Many a DMs or GMs as some like to be called do not use such things but for those that do, this is a very good thing to know and keep track of. Would hate to see greed for the coin kill you in battle.’ He turns to Ayrn, ‘Travel well.’ Then to Dragoon, ‘May your road into the realms be a good one.’ With that Kyle bows again to the two and takes his leave, ‘Dog.’

BOXED SET?!?

Wow,... that's like OLD and stuff.

I wonder who DOES play with the old boxed set anymore?

Most of them are now just beloved dust collectors that get taken down once a decaded for a nostolgic rub,... if they're not burried in a closet under a metric ton of baseball cards, discarded paperbacks and old sweaters.

Cherish your box set,.... Give it love. But perhaps look for a Dungeon Master/ Game master who is willing to introduce you to a more current edition,... You'll have an easier time finding a group to play with IRL. Don't worry the magic will still be there.

-Good Luck

P.S. - Oh my Goodness!!! I nearly Forgot! Welcome to the Inn!
