Group Dynamic

I'm wondering if it might be helpful to know what everybody's character concepts are, and then develop the group dynamic from there. Different alignments/classes/races will have tendencies towards or against types of groups. The city watch/patrol would be good for a group of lawful characters with a lot of faith in the government they live under (breaking that faith might be fun...) Another group of characters might make more sense to be in a thieving crew, or a rebellion of sorts. Then there is always a traveling circus or a gypsy caravan, etc. I guess I'm advocating for a character based group concept.

All that said, I will go first. This is pretty rough and certainly not set in stone, but if we patch together what we have we can put together a balanced party and a really great group concept.

RACE: Moonlit Elf with Fey Heritage (Complete Mage Heritage Feats)
GENDER: Female
ALIGNMENT: Chaotic Good
CLASS: Sorceress - working towards Wild Soul Prestige Class (Complete Mage)

She will be coming out of the trickster/seductress archetypes. Heavy on the illusions and charms. Curiosity and hedonism will cover the fact that she is highly manipulative and has her own agenda. Pledged to the Seelie Court, she will have a benevolent attitude towards "mortals", but her allegiances and will wholly be with the fey and the elves. Tricks and pranks can be very good "life lessons" for the short lived, you know Of course the Fey Heritage will be more on the secret side, most (if not all) will take her simply for an exotic looking elf.

yadda yadda yadda... GO!

I'll give it a whirl. Same goes aboutnot set in stone.

Arrowhead Island human. Left that island awhile ago.

Former conman looking to go straight.

Chaotically neutral aligned.

double post

Was thinking, maybe we're on a sea voyage together? With all the water on this map it would make sense. Several of us could be related, maybe on a pilgrimage or moving to another continent, and it allows the possibility for all kinds of characters on board as crew or fellow travelers.

My Character

I'm still cleaning out the bugs in my head. Right now I'm looking very seriously at a nasty green barbarian, or perhaps a mounted halfling druid/ranger... I noticed Jozan was a paladin, and he's probably going to be mounted. And It looks like Padro is a savage... so I'm still deliberating.

Well then.

Fair enough. That certainly adds to my own savage incentive.

,

My character is a Half-elf Paladin, with the holy warrior variant, and Charging smite variant. No mount, no spells, all melee and bad-assery. Also I'll be tripping things a lot. Still working out the numbers and making the character, backstory and description will be afterwards.

Just thinking it through.

EDIT: Okay I've decided. I would like to play a human male Swashbuckler / Psionic Warrior from Cordova.

Just a note

I love it when a party comes together.

And while this is open world, and you don`t have to be a party of "adventurers", it would be nice if you were a group of something that could be at least slightly active, like mercenary/adventurer/travelling circus/whathaveyou.

If I end up DMing the world's most overpowered group of completely sedentary farmers I won't be upset, but I will be very confused.

For Grugg:

As death draws near me
I reflect on my life's path
I'll turn to farming.

I do declare, I love pansies!

Farming it is! I just love digging my hands in the dirt...

So since we don't know where we'll be starting a mobile group of sorts might be a good idea. I have a few ideas which I'll share tomorrow. Running out the door in a few...

Looks like we have a pretty diverse group that hits most points: meat shield, stealth, arcane - but we might need a healer. It's looking like a fun group
