3.5 rules question

I cannot for the life of me find this in my books...

What kind of damage does a bite attack do? Piercing?

And what would your opinion be about a creature with a claw attack using its claws as a dagger?

I don't remember where

I remember being under the impression that somewhere I read once it did Bludgeoning AND Piercing AND Slashing all at once. I can't cite that for you, but it seems to make enough sense to me (crush bone, pierce and rend flesh) in at least most situations.

...

I thought I read that somewhere once too. But it seems to me that it was for a dragon...

Thank you for the input though

Aha!

Found my Monster Manual. In the glossary under 'Natural Weapons' (p312 in my copy) it lists the damage type of every natural weapon. Bite is B/P/S

Is this for your character?

Your fangs deal fang damage.

JK, they do all sorts of crazy s***, for my campaign anyway:

1.) Piercing: Rolls to confirm threats doubly function as grapple checks (Requires Improved Disarm or Improved Sunder)

2.) Slashing: Critical 19-20/x2 by default

3.) Bludgeoning: Standard.
