People who bought toothpaste also bought...toothbrushes.

Not sure why that surprised me.

A Good Oops.........

I went to Amazon through here the other day to look up the cost on the new 5.0 rules and then checked out the cost of dice. I had placed them in my shopping cart to see what shipping cost would be. I didn't purchase them at that time. Later I went back to buy the dice. When I went through it all I hadn't noticed that my first choices were still in the cart, it just didn't seem as clear as at other sites and after I did my credit info I placed the order. Well I ended up buy the book and two orders of dice.

So I know it was my bad, but I just wanted to warn other to check VERY carefully before completing the order. This also happened to a friend of mine the ended up buying two of the 5.0 rule books.

It was all fine though because I wanted the book and I gave my son the extra order of dice.

Now the GOOD Oops was that I had bought the bag of 100+ random dice. It said there would be at least one set of matched dice and those came in a little draw string pouch.

But what I got was 111 dice including the pouched set. On top of that there were 15 matched set of 7 dice. This was the same for the second bag of dice too. All of the sets were different, but the bagged set did match one of the loose sets, which was fine with me. One pouched set was black with white numbers and the other was crystal orange. I was very please as I expected to get a bunch d6 as the majority of the random dice.

So if you are interested here is what I ordered for the dice. It was $19.99 a pack.

yep

Amazon will remember a cart - I've accidentally ordered old stuff, too.

Sweet report on the dice!

hey folks

Just an FYI.

The first couple of days of the Amazon ads looked really promising. Since then, there has been virtually no participation. Unlike Google (which pays mostly for clicks, but can pay for exposures), Amazon pays zilch unless people actually buy something from a click. It doesn't have to be an item that I directly link to, just an item that you buy from a link you see here on the Inn.

Here's the deal - I don't ever expect to get rich off the Inn. I'd like it if the Inn paid for its server time and domain name. I'd like it more if I got a little pocket money from it.

I like the idea of replacing the Google ads with the Amazon ones, as the Amazon ads are WAY more relevant. Google used to always be relevant, but now, they tend to present you with the same ads you see everywhere. If you've Googled, say, accounting software, you are likely to see ads for accounting software on the Inn. I like having the Amazon ads that are more focused on gaming books, dice, etc.

I'm going to try to make the ads even better, so that they highlight certain products, rotate, etc. But...

If people aren't buying things based off of clicks from here to Amazon, it doesn't make sense for me to keep running the ads. Even though Google doesn't pay well, they do better than the overall run from Amazon has been.

So, here's a reminder. I'm not asking you to click the ads from the heck of it, as that just wastes your time. But if you are heading to Amazon to shop - and especially, if you are planning to buy things from there - please consider clicking one of our ads to get to Amazon's site. The prices do not change one iota, but the Inn *will* get a little referral commission. Thanks!

I can't be much help there. I don't do online shopping except for once in a blue moon. And then its usually eBay, for games.

hey

That's fine. I'm not trying to hawk anything. All I'm saying is that if you *are* buying online (or just shopping), please consider hitting Amazon through one of our ads.

With the holidays coming up and my living 6000km away from everyone I`ve ever known I suspect e-ordered delivery might fit that bill. Will definitely be using this referral.

Wow never knew that

And I do most of my holiday shopping on Amazon. I'll go there through the Inn from now on.

Sorry I was unclear. I know you weren't hawking anything. I just meant that if the ads work like that, then you'd get more money from me from the google ads, because I just don't do online shopping. Seems like I might be in the minority though, so hopefully it works out for you.

Heh!

Once I get this wedding paid for and my bank account subsequently back to a more "dippable" level, I'll be sure to make more of a use of the ads... Just haven't had any extra cash available to shop for myself of late, you know?

C'mooooooon, FRIDAY!!!

Christmas, Christmas time is here...

Just a reminder: if you are doing any last minute shopping, and you plan to shop Amazon, please consider clicking on one of our ads first.

You can be shopping for band aids, I don't care. Doesn't matter what the ad is, and you won't pay a penny more; the Inn just gets a small commission.

Thanks!
