Alacrity withdrawal

I held off on posting this on Friday because had I done so, most people would have thought it was an April Fools joke.

I am very glad to see that the inn is thriving once more and that we have plenty of people posting again. I hope that it continues for a good long time. However I will be ending all the games I that I am running effective immediately. My apologies to my players but I can't in good conscious keep up the pretense that I have the time for maintaining games anymore. I do not. I have other things that occupy my time, the most important being my son's autism, second being my own quest for healthiness. Weekends used to be my time for me but now I do not have that luxury anymore. I am sorry to all of you. I would rather be honest and walk away then to keep on stringing people along.

I am not leaving the inn. I will be here but I will be mostly lurking, possibly posting commentary and maybe the occasional blog posts. Mostly I will be doing things that I can via my phone or the occasional time that I am on the computer. I will still maintain the Friends of the Red Dragon Inn Facebook page.

Thank you all for playing.

Roger (Alacrity) Briant

:(

I'm sure I speak for any and everyone that's participated in your games, Alacrity, when I say that your presence will be missed, as will your games. However, it's completely understandable... Gotta take care of you and yours ahead of all else.

Best wishes, good vibes, and happy thoughts, my friend!

Sad news, but...

I completely understand. Family and your health most certainly come first! Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

Completely Understandable

I am honored to have had the good fortune of playing in some of your games when my time allowed, before various Real Life matters forced me to withdraw.

Thank You for All Your Contributions to the Inn

Be Well........

You have given so much here over the years and it has been a pleasure being allowed to have been part of your games and time.

Stay in touch. We may need someone to draw maps for games.

I cannot fully express how much you have meant to the Inn over the years. If not for you, the site would have died long ago. You are always reliable and steady where I tend to be a flake and a flash.

Thank you for all that you have given to us. If I can do anything my friend, please let me know. Maybe one day you can find a little time to game with us again, but regardless, you need to take care of you.

Trying not to cry :(

Roger what can I say that has not already been said? Well hell lets see.

I will miss your games but I know I still have your real life friendship. You more then anyone else taught me how to run an online play by post game and for that I will always owe you.

Even though you and I have had our up's and down's you never stopped being my friend. Though my poor sense of humor and lack of social grace has put me at odds with many Innmates and staff you still never turned away a phone call. If for nothing else, no matter what the future holds, for that you will always be my friend.

Real life first, always................

much love

Alacrity, you are amazing! Taking care of yourself and your awesome kiddo are great things to seek out in life. We'll always be here. Heck if I can return, who knows what could happen next!

You are loved, and will be missed. You have a great insight and killer sense of humor. All the devil horns and roller skates for you.

The Inn will be here

I am selfishly disappointed to read this - because your games have always been a lot of fun. Plus, there was nothing else quite like team Ye Olde out there. The games will be missed - and I mean that as a compliment, not a complaint.

Do what you have to do - everyone needs to know what their priorities are in life, and yours seem to be in the right place. Someday, no doubt, you will find yourself able to have some "me time" again. When that day comes, I am quite sure that the Inn will still be here waiting for you. Best wishes.

So Sorry

Even though I have not played in any of your games I am still sad at seeing you go. I have read several of your games. I was enjoying the Weird War II scenario. I especially loved the Firefly RPs and if one of those had been active I might have tried to play in it as I just loved the Firefly series. I mean who doesn't?

Seriously I can understand though your need to withdraw from Roleplaying when you have so much going on in your real life. I have a friend who has a Autistic child and one of my Nieces has Down Syndrome. I have seen some of the hardships that they must endure so I can only imagine how hard it is on a day to day basis.

I wish you luck and hope to see you around from time to time. Take Care Alacrity. God Bless!

Sorry to hear that Alacrity, I hope your situation settles soon and that you have some free time to yourself.

P.S. Your gladiator system sounds really cool (I just checked it out)

Thanks everyone

I appreciate all the kind words but I feel I should remind you that I'm not dead yet (think I'll go for a walk).

I am still here on the inn. I will still post stuff when i can but I just couldn't keep players hanging for weeks on end for updates.

And now we see the problem

And now we see the problem.

If you just skipped those walks you'd have time to update your games. It is all about priorities . . .

Just be sure to stick with the "not dead yet" part.

Disappointed to see this, but it's totally understandable. Like Olan said, you've done a lot for the site. We'll all have to pull a little harder in your (semi) absence.

well

You're right to put family and yourself first. Though you are and have been a valuable part of the inn, at certain times even its heart, there have also been times that you had to withdraw due to personal issues. So, that being said: you'll be back.

It may not be soon, but you can't stay away from this place. Sooner or later you'll get that itch again, and you'll find time again. And we'll be here to help you scratch.

Take care, ok!
