Some observations

Our first round of combat seems to have gone swimmingly with just a few hiccups.

First it is most unfortunate that Iara's target rolled an 18 on his Will save vs her 15 DC, so he remains a threat to the party. At her current level also she has to be within 30 feet of the target to use Confusion, and so I had to move her to the furthest point she could be that was within 30 feet.

Mattias' firearm only resolves against touch AC when within the first range increment, which is 20 feet, from the position he chose to maintain in the treeline he is 35 feet away. However the attack did resolve just as well against flat footed ac and put a serious hurt on the bandit shot. Also Kamina, I have to ask, where is the +1 to damage for your pistol coming from? I looked and looked and could not find anything that would have given you such a bonus, and as such did not include the extra point of damage. If you can direct me to the source of the bonus damage I will calculate it in as well.

For Savis' action I assumed he would have noticed Iara attempted to use her skills on the axeman and would have therefore opted not to interfere and focused his webs on the other table, and not a single one of those bandits rolled higher than a 6 on their will saves, and were therefore subjected to hallucinations and Wis damage.

Zick made it very clear where he was focusing his attacks, and was able to trigger a nice chemical reaction when his fire ignited the webs. The resulting vapor affected the entire left table, and the axe wielder on the right table, resulting in 3 Wis damage to all 4.

Three questions

1. What exactly is the implication of "wisdom damage." What does it actually do in combat?
2. How far away from the bad guys is Zick? And are the distances different for the two tables since he moved a bit too the left to attack that table.
3. How are you handling the combat initiative? You asked for Lara's moves - does that mean she is the next to act and should post first, then you'll give a result, then you will move on to the next to act? This would mean the rest of us wait to post until after Lara does so. Or do we all just post and you'll give the results in the proper order? I'm not quite sure when to post.

I might be wrong but...

1. In 5e if a character gets to 0 wisdom, then they essentially don't perceive anything at all and are practically useless in combat. I was hoping that would happen here as the web gives them -1 a round plus -1d4 wis if you set it on fire again. ((assuming they fail the rolls)
2. No idea
3. He mentioned earlier that we can feel free to post in whatever order. He will resolve it in initiative order I believe? But i remember clearly he said do not feel obligated to post in order of initiative

Answers

Thank you for answering Impulse, that's most helpful.

Wis damage will lower their Will saves, which I've accounted for in my notes. Also keep in mind that as they were burnt, there are no more webs, simply a colorful cloud of vapor that will dissipate shortly. And as Impulse pointed out, should they drop to 0 Wisdom they will be useless. From the SRD: "A character with a Wisdom score of 0 is incapable of rational thought and is unconscious."

Zick is presently 30 feet from the left table, the right table is 20 feet to the right of the left table.

Impulse is correct on the final note, It doesn't matter which order you post in, I will resolve in initiative order once all posts are up. I only specified Iara as it was her turn in the initiative order, and since I do not want to assume what any character will do I had to end my update there.

Range

So unless someone hit with wisdom loss either needs a specific type of saving throw, or they get all the way to zero (which would take awhile even for an "average" wisdom of 9) it really has no direct impact on things? Ok. Just curious as I've never had a character that could use things like that web.

Ok - a range question. Thrown items have a range of 20 feet, which seems absurdly low to me since home plate is 60'6" from the pitchers mound, and even high school kids manage to get it there without any problems. While I know chucking a bomb isn't the same as a baseball, still, I'm wondering about the distance. In these rules - is 20' just the distance before penalty? or what? Sorry, I should probably look this up instead of asking. But it determines if Zick takes the time to reload his splashbow or simply chucks the next bomb.

..

i was hoping more that it would tangle em up as it's still a web and yea this is an interesting class.

concerning thrown items, shield will be able to give you more info pertaining to 3.5e but in 5e, range is 20/60 where 20 is the normal range but 60 is the maximum range where you have to roll with disadvantage.

range

the ranges listed for ranged weapons, including splash weapons, is the range before a penalty is assessed.

Per the SRD: "Range: Any attack at more than this distance is penalized for range. Beyond this range, the attack takes a cumulative -2 penalty for each full range increment (or fraction thereof) of distance to the target. For example, a dagger (with a range of 10 feet) thrown at a target that is 25 feet away would incur a -4 penalty. A thrown weapon has a maximum range of five range increments. A projectile weapon can shoot to 10 range increments."

So a throw from your current position to the same table would take a single -2 penalty to hit as you are less than 40 ft (2 full range increments) from the target.

Had the webs not been burnt away by the bomb they would have been entangled, it is after all still a web, and to move would have required a Str check, or for them to slash the webs, using up their attack for the round.

@Nomad

The center bandit is still standing, was the bandit on the right that tripped. I can resolve your bomb against the center one if you prefer (assuming of course they are still there on your turn).

Targets

Yes, please do so.
The key is that Zick wants max splash effect, so if they have moved he would adjust his target to give him the best chance at splash. He would keep his target in the group on the left regardless as that is where he is.

Round two, recap.

A good round for our band of newbie adventurers, if I do say so myself.

The Silent Image was a stroke of genius, coupled with the fumes the bandits were easy to fool into believing they had been stricken blind, rendering them panicked to the point they could not take an action.

This in turn left them clustered up nicely for Zick's bomb, once again damaging all 3 bandits.

Mattia's attack roll just did not land against the bandit, but his own aim was no better, so neither is worse off.

Without a post from Impulse I decided to default him to a melee attack, as he has stated he would remain between these thugs and his allies as best he could. The bandit he angered simply could not roll well enough to draw any blood himself.

To speed things along I am going to ask that you post the next three rounds worth of actions so I can resolve them in initiative order either until all actions are taken or the combat has ended, whichever comes first. Knowing that some of these foes may fall I do not expect you to declare targets in advance, something like "Zick will throw another bomb at the left table until his foes are burnt to a crisp." or perhaps "Zick will only use one more of his limited bombs per day before switching to [insert another option here] and attack the nearest foe or aid [ally here] with their target."

This way I can resolve three rounds in one sitting and move us beyond this combat.

So do you want us to just post our actions in the Q&A and then you'll update in the game thread?
