Murder Mystery Games

I want to run a murder mystery for my tabletop group (5e D&D) but when I look around at modules out there made as murder mysteries, they all seem to bog down into combat after combat where basically the last NPC standing is the murderer. Not very challenging.

Does anyone know of any good Mystery modules out there? Doesn't have to be D&D, I can adapt from another system.

So... you're looking for a module where the PCs play the role of detectives trying to figure who killed someone (or some people) without the PCs having the murder everyone in between?

if you put it that way

Yes. Or that the murderer kills everyone between the start and end of module making process of elimination very simple.

Ah, yes... that would not be much of a mystery then.

I searched my stash. I don't have anything.

Sorry

I'd suggest reading a sherlock story and changing every second character into a dwarf.

Or a gnome.

Frakkin gnomes,

The gnome was the fall guy. It was the goats.
