Excited

I can't wait either. How is the party shaping up so far?

If you look on the first post in this thread, you'll see the party composition.  I sent you a link to the old game thread - if you check our maybe the last few pages, you can get a feel for the style of the game.

Some real normal stuff happened to the last rogue. We could probably use another one of those.

Yay!!!

Welcome to the asylum!

Soo glad to took the bait... er... I mean... accepted the invitation

Yeah... that's it...

No worries about being a noob, either. I think you'll find that we're all pretty helpful and available if you have any questions or whatever. Just drop a post or shoot a PM and we'll come a-runnin'.

@ "normal stuff"

Mmmm-hmmm... completely normal. As normal as talking tigers and blister sticks.

Consider me scared. Or is that another kind of wetness between my legs?

But seriously, thank you! I'm really excited to learn. That being said, will access to the Player Handbook or another WotC-official guide do me favours for the ride? Currently all I have is the Essentials Kit and some DnD-related apps on my phone.

omfg

Wasn't ready to do a spittake, but here we are.

Olan has a PHB, but I should warn you, as he did NOT warn me, the cover is a little NSFW. And I was at W when I pulled the file up.

I will no longer worry about scaring you off with our behavior.

I can indeed shoot you a link to a collection of anceint RP texts that serve as... well, pretty much all of this out of print edition's rules.

And yes, whatever neckbeard compiled them into one PDF did in fact use a topless Boris Vallejo pic on the cover.  Ye be warned.

*bows*

I'd appreciate any links that can help me grasp the game.

Any need for a ranger at all? I'm liking the sounds of the people of the Chindari Plains a lot.

BEWBS! Barbarian bewbs!

Nixelated pipples and all!

Yep, yep... Olan's got the PHB and such available and, I'm sure, will link you. That said, though, with the way he runs things, the most you'll ever really need to concern yourself with the rules/mechanics is during character creation... most everything where the rolling of dice and such is concerned happens behind the scenes and all we have to do is play our characters. It's rather awesome!

Edit: A ranger would be a nifty addition, IMO.

I'll PM you the link to the docs.

As of right now, we have two warriors, two clerics, and a mage.  The chindari folk are excellent choices for rangers, no doubt... but when I look at this party, I see a crying need for a rogue.  If I was to select a seventh slot, I'd lean towards another arcane caster or a fighter/mage.

Now, I'm not going to force anything, but if the adventure starts with a bunch of brawn and no ability to detect a poison dart, don't say that I didn't warn you.

Then I have another character to stockpile.

I'm thinking I can rearrange my sorcerer to be Felarin-friendly, but I'll aim for a rogue to fill the spaces needed.

After all...

Aranwen might be overzealous in her willingness to burn her hp for the sake of the group to bypass traps, but ideally that should be a last resort rather than a go to method of advancing
