Rogues are fun. This game was my first experience with a rogue and she got kidnapped, tortured, brainwashed, and impregnanted with a demon baby, so it was a huge success!

Gotta watch out for those High Priestesses, they'll getchya.

hah

I love the promotion of the rogue experience.

I mean, as a DM, I don't mind the Bladesinger soaking trap damage.  Knock yourself out.

Meat shield

Yeah, and then there's the big dumb Kazari who has a tendancy to just throw himself directly in front of whatever lies ahead, as well.

The Hunt awaits, t'mbili!

You guys . . .

Can you guys just give me ONE SECOND to raise this dead squirrel and make it take the dart damage?

I like that plan.

I think that the necromancer should always stand BEHIND the squirrell.  To help line up those darts.  It's not like there's a chance it'll miss a rodent...

Run or no

Does a Vidarak swashbuckler rogue sound good? Would that suit the setting or be too alien for Northern Etrain?

well

I love the idea.  You get a Viking-esque character, but with a bit of a different take as opposed to the typical beserker warrior.

By 5th level, your character will have a ton of experience under their belt; a rogue like that could find themselves almost anywhere, I would imagine.  There's a lot of room to role play some background, create a personality, etc.

Keep in mind that your character will absolutely be viewed as a barbarian by the "civilized" folk of the five kindgoms - Vidirak, much like their Viking inspiration, are known to raid, pillage, etc.  Northern Ertain won't be as unfriendly as a coastal area, but that predjudice will still be there.

I've had two more folks respond at reddit, one with a detailed character concept.

Then meet Einar! ... Who needs a last name. Do Vidarak have Norse-like surnames, or can it be something like "Einar the Hullsmasher?"

Aaaand now I just thought of a blonde Norwegian saying "Hull smash," like the "Yoohoo" guy from Frozen. RIP

well

The typical naming convention for Vidarak surnames is "xxxxsson" and "xxxxsdatter".  I.e. Einar Gralsson (if his father's name is "Gral").
