stand off

“Frankie its cool, no gun play between us I swear, just lower the damn firescape and get out of our way. After that you and your friend can do what ya want just hurry.”

The Armalite had been pointing at Croaker's face the second the man had rounded the corner and didn't even flinch at the cowboy's words. Whatever happened next, the guy in his aims would be first to die even if his input would decide to gun Guardian down first. The cybernetic link would see to that.

The rain was still running down the bodyguard's face and long black leather jacket, and he had to blink every now and then to keep his sights clear. It would be time to leave the scene soon. Sure, it wasn't exactly the hi-fly area of the city or corp-zone, but the gunfire had doubtlessly caught the attention of some part of the NCPD, and a strike force or two would be on the way soon - very soon. Still, Guardian made no move. It was Scribe's call again. Besides, when the cops get here, the pretty killer's blown our heads to pieces already anyway.
“You’ve got an entire gang with their panties in a bunch, Richard,” Frankie slicked back his TechHair ™ with his left hand, his right still holding his Sternmeyer, though it was at his side as the stairs were presented to the nomad. “I think you could use a little extra help right now. Guardian’s one of the best… and who knows, I might be able to hit something now and again. What say you?”

Before Croaker had time to reply, a pair of feet came clanking down the fire escape. Things were suddenly starting look a lot worse than a minute ago. Guardian and the media were now caught between two possible enemies and the tightness of the alley made it nearly impossible from them to escape. Either they'd have to take Croaker's word for it or do something immediately. Apparently though, Frankie was trying to strike a deal with Croaker and that would be just fine with the big black man. The less bullets there would be flying through the air, the more chances they had to make through this in one piece.

"How did you get here?", the voice was male and didn't hold the confidence of a solo or a bounty hunter, but that didn't surprise Guardian. The fact that he had heard someone coming before he'd felt the cold steel of a barrel behind his ear, had told him it wasn't Peacekeeper that was coming down. The chica would not blow a surprise when she had one - no pro would.

Still aiming at Croaker's forehead, Frank reached out with his free hand and grabbed the media's shoulder to make sure he would stay close. "Watch the back and tell me if she turns up." Slowly, and with his gaze drilling through Richard's eyes, the bodyguard maneuvered them into a slightly better position to offer himself a full view of the situation and to make smaller targets of DS and himself. With his back against the wall, Guardian risked a quick glance upwards when Croaker reached for his handset.

The second man was just stepping through to the fire escape carrying the unconscious girl. And Peacekeeper would be right behind him. The fact that the bounty hunter stayed behind told Frank a couple of things. First of all, It was the ko'd girl they were after - it was not a simple assassination assignment. She was covering their backs because she needed the target safe and sound, not because she was worried about her companions. He didn't know the chica personally of course, but Frank was pretty sure she valued her own life over that of some random guns she'd been forced to work with. And secondly - Peacekeeper didn't know DigitalScribe and Guardian were there, yet.

"Ok Croaker, your chica is on her way down here and unless you wish to have an extra ventilation hole in your head, I suggest you let her know we're the good guys. And do it soon, my finger's getting tired."

Playing with fire?

Peacekeeper did everything in her power to ignore the flickers of pain when she allowed too much pressure to rise into her thigh. Carefully she would glance over her shoulder until her companions were safely out of the office window and making their descent known to those below. Shaking her head at this she took one last look at the office door before climbing out of the window in a manner known to all assassins; silently and gracefully despite the rainy conditions.

Every so often Peacekeeper would stop to glance towards her companions who were ahead of her, to ensure they were safe, then back up towards the office window. Her weapon always at the ready, even as she climbed down the fire escape. Spiff seemed to be negotiating with a few people who's voices were washed away by the sound of the rain and of the winds. Firewind managed to keep the girl safe and Peacekeeper quickly found her footing. Her eyes had locked upon Guardian and quickly her eyes narrowed at the sight before her eyes. The woman knew that if she wanted, she could take him out without harming Croaker. Peacekeeper's occulis darted towards Guardian and she readied her gun to shoot, aiming it between the railings of the fire escape, she held her breath. Silently contemplating if she could risk it or not. If she didn't kill him first shot and instantly, she could lose Croaker. If she disarmed him, would he have another weapon nearby? She stood still glancing up occasionally before looking back towards Croaker, who seemed to be playing it cool, and guardian who had now turned this situation personal.

Being called to

Bullseye see a figure down the way waving for him to come to him. Given the street size, he figures it best to back into the street to keep from being boxed in. "Man I hope that was one of the crew who just waved me to come this way, otherwise I'm gonna have my hands full." Bullseye says to himself as he checks his weapon, removes the safety and gets ready for anything. "I have to bring up after this job that we need to get closed cuircut radios for us to use instead of relying on these bloody phones." Bullseye mutters to himself as he backs the truck up.

Here we go again.

The Mean Streets – Upper East Side – Night City – March, Friday 13th, 2020, 12:53am
As the van pulled forward and past, turning to back up towards the alley, Preacher blew out a breath that spread flakes of water before his mouth. Maybe things were going to be smoother than he’d though after all. Stepping away from the corner the solo directed the van to back up down the alley. It would be a tight fit, but the idea was sound enough. After all, they really didn’t know what lay at the end of this stretch of asphalt, so it was best to head into the known should things head south.

“Aw, mierda!”

The words registered with Preacher just before the sound of rapid, automatic gunfire. Spinning on his bootheel, the solo brought his submachine gun up to his shoulder and prepared himself to fire. It took but a moment to realize that Coyote didn’t have an automatic weapon so that gunfire must’ve come from…

Coyote lay crumpled on the ground, the back of his head a mass of pink and white brain matter. The blood had already begun to pool about his upper body, carried quickly from the wound by the rain water. The man was definitely dead. It didn’t take a medtech to realize this, and suddenly the sound of metal being struck accompanied the automatic fire.

Glancing at the van, Preacher snarled as he saw the case being riddled with bullets.

“Get outta here man!” he yelled, realizing almost instantly that were Bullseye keep backing up it would put the driver’s side right in the line of fire. “Get the frack outta here!”

That said, Preacher turned back to the corner and quickly popped his shooter around to squeeze off a three-round burst. He instantly saw that the gangers had started their flow into the street. His bullets took one in the leg, dropping him screaming to the wet pavement, but there was a hoard more coming.

Around the back corner of the building the others heard the gunfire loud and clear. But that wasn’t the place where trouble was brewing. The gangers inside apparently figured it was better to rush the room than sit back. Peacekeeper heard the sounds of gunfire from inside as well, then the cracking of wood. They were coming through the door, having weakened it by filling it full of holes first.

Peacekeeper had stopped her descent on the stairs of between the fifth and sixth story, her weapon aimed through the many layers of grating at the head and shoulders of the man holding Craoker at gunpoint. Problem there was that with so many layers of steel between them, even corrugated, the chances of her round finding its mark were less than a Zero being made president. Now she had the troublesome threat of heavily armed gangers rushing their back as well!

Firewind had managed to get between the third and fourth floor by the time the gunfire erupted again. Carrying his burden he was moving slower than the others, primarily due to the desire to keep from slipping on the slick steel of the escape.

Croaker still stood at the base of the fire escape stairs, peering up into Guardian’s weapon and DigitalScribe’s quizzical face. The gunfire wasn’t the only thing he heard. He could hear Preacher’s yell though to whom the solo was talking to, and what exactly he was saying, the nomad didn’t know. The gunfire impeded that clarity, but DigitalScribe heard.

“Looks like the s*** has hit the fan, Choomba. What’ll it be?” The media tilted his head to the side and raised his eyebrows just a bit. Frankie had already turned so as to better see what was coming behind and above, just as Guardian had directed, and the black bodyguard’s demand hung in the air the same as the media’s. Time was very very short indeed.

FRACK!

Spiff was moving down the stairs as quickly as he could when the gunfire erupted again. He paused as he was about to round another turn to keep going down. The gunfire wasn't just coming from upstairs, but from around the corner also. This meant his way out wasn't going to be clear. Frack, Croaker, didn't you do s***!? His question was almost spat out as he saw Croaker and the likely Digitalscribe on the landing below. They were negotiating, and he would be unwise to shoot them, so his first instinct, as it always is, was to reach for his phone.

"Frack!" He slapped his empty pocket. His gun was upstairs with his phone in her hand. He sighed and moved toward the corner of the building, staying on the same level of the fire escape. If he reached, he might be able to just get a slight photo with his watch. He set up the camera and reached out to flick a photo of the alley. He needed to wait a moment, and this way at least he could get a view of what he was moving into.

If he had more time, he'd analyze the photo to make sure he got the gist of what was there, and take more if necessary.

Odds against them.

Peacekeeper had stopped her descent on the stairs, between the fifth and sixth story, her weapon aimed through the many layers of grating at the head and shoulders of the man holding Croaker at gunpoint. Problem was that there were so many layers of steel between them, even corrugated, the chances of her round finding its mark were less than a Zero being made president. Now she had the troublesome threat of heavily armed gangers rushing their back as well.

The odds were against them as she trailed behind Spiff. Shaking her head she looked above her and decided it would be best to not start firing, not until she had better odds at hitting her targets. Peacekeeper hated the fact that Croaker was at guns point, but she couldn't do anything about it. Instead she started running closer to Spiff and Firewind. Occasionally she'd look behind her and above her to see how close the gangers were to them. A sudden deep pain rushed through her leg like electricity through wires. She stumbled quickly, but her reactions were quicker as she grabbed hold of the banister of the stairs as she made her descent. Her leg having given out on her suddenly for a moment, but she caught herself and decided to slow down her pace.

Time to act

The Mean Streets – Upper East Side – Night City – March, Friday 13th, 2020, 12:53am
It was crazy in a way; here he was at the foot of a dropped fire escape. The love of his life, with Spiff, Firewind and Mery Deth surely in tow on their way down. His friend/ex-friend Frankie having shown that maybe Croaker had misread the whole situation between the two of them by his clear desire to help. Coyote and Preacher having for whatever reason decided not to follow him this way and a large black man with a gun pointed at his head.

"Ok Croaker, your chica is on her way down here and unless you wish to have an extra ventilation hole in your head, I suggest you let her know we're the good guys. And do it soon, my finger's getting tired."
Croaker really had no fear of the bodyguard knowing his many layers of armor, both sub dermal and clothing would protect him from any major harm, plus with his enhanced Reflexes it was a good bet that he could bring up the SMG fast enough to kill the black man, but right now that was not the objective.
As he started to reply shooting from the front of the alley where Coyote and Preacher had moved to interrupted the attempt.

“Looks like the s*** has hit the fan, Choomba. What’ll it be?”
A spilt second of thought told him that Bullseye and the van would not make the alley, thank god for the long forced recon as he spoke.

“Guardian help Peacekeeper cover the fire escape for pursuing Wild Things, give her this” Pulling the second police SMG off his shoulder he threw it lightly to Guardian.
“Scribe, help Spiff and Firewind get the girl to the parking lot to the South, call Bullseye at this number, tell him to meet you there. I’m headed to back up Preacher and Coyote and hold off the Wild Things till you get loaded. Once loaded call me at this number and Guardian at his.”
Without another word Croaker moved down the alley, the SMG in hand and a Concussion gren loaded. The time for being subtle clearly over, the time to move fast and play dirty at hand.....

.

Firewind stood there listening to the conversation going on. He hefted the limp body on his shoulder, it sliding off slightly due to the rain and her being dead weight and all.
Soon Gun fire broke out and a decision was going to be made quick. A plan was brought up and he was to bring her down to the parking lot to the south, with the cover fire of Digital with his newly acquired Sub Machine Gun. Firewind started to move to climb down the stairs, hoping to get to the ground level before the fire fight was brought to them. he had his pistol at his side, ready if he needed it. He tried to move fast enough to get down there, and slightly ran down the slick stairs, hoping to not fall. He really wanted to beat the firefight, thinking that its better for her to take a little fall than to get shot up by mistake.

( I will attempt an athletics check to move faster down the stairs.)

Hail of Bullets

"S***" Bullseye says as the first round begin to hit the van. He quickly(I'm assuming it is a 5 speed manny trany, if not, it got thrown into drive) slams it back into first and nails the gas. He checks his mirrors as he pulls away south down the street. He sees one man down, and as he straightens out, 3 men all with assault rifles movin southerly aswell. "Croaker you fracker, you better answer this call damn it!" He yells to himself as he speed dials his phone. Not waiting to hear who answers it when the ringing stops, he yells, "Croak, we got 1 man down, 3 with assults comin south to the corner where I just was. Hold Freaking tight and stay cool, I'm coming to ya!" And with that he hangs up and begins to go over the map in his head about the area and calulates the best way to get to where Croaker and the crew are and how best to get everyone the hell out of here without more loses.

Like a volcano...

The Mean Streets – Upper East Side – Night City – March, Friday 13th, 2020, 12:53am
Guardian caught the weapon that was tossed his way with ease, his own handgun never leaving Croaker as the mark. Once the cool, wet plastic casing was in hand, he spoke, “You good with this?”

“Yeah,” DigitalScribe responded dryly. “We’re in all sorts of trouble now. If we don’t work together there’s not much chance of any of us walking away from this.”

That said, Guardian lowered his weapon and turned to hoof it up the stairs, the toes of his boots slipping slightly on the slick metal. Peacekeeper came into sight quickly enough, and Guardian hefted the submachine gun up so that she could see it, while out of the corner of his eye he caught movement inside the Hole through the third story windows. The big man slid past both Spiff and Firewind with barely a nod of recognition, though he kept a watchful eye on their hands as he did so. DigitalScribe was right. This was a hornet’s nest about to explode and they had but moments before it did.

“Croaker asked me to give this to you,” he said in his deep voice as he held the weapon out to the bounty hunter barrel first. “They need to make sure the back end is covered.” That said, Guardian returned his handgun to a ready position and began to make his way back down the stairs, keeping pace with Peacekeeper and moving his sights along the windows. With the rain slicking her leathers, Guardian did not see that the beautiful woman at his side was injured.

Bullseye forced the stick into gear and slammed the accelerator to the floor. He felt the bump as the van’s back tire rolled off the curb and the slight sway of the tall vehicle when he rolled that steering wheel hard to the right. Once he was on the straight of the southward road, the nomad quickly dialed Croaker’s cell.

"Croaker you fracker, you better answer this call damn it!" When the click sounded in his ear he continued his high volume rhetoric. “Croak, we got one man down, three with assaults comin’ south to the corner where I just was. Hold freaking tight and stay cool, I'm coming to ya!"

As the last word left his mouth he ended the call rather abruptly and focused on driving. He remembered having passed the entrance to the parking lot in the center of the block a few buildings—Nope! There it was, just at the end of the building! Rolling that massive wheel to the right one more time, Bullseye released the pressure on the accelerator and tapped the break a bit as he down-shifted. The van complained loudly and jerked as it hopped around the corner. Again, Bullseye felt the bump as the rear tires took the curb, but he was in control and pushed the stick into a lower gear to pick up speed quicker, releasing the break and slamming the accelerator to the floor again. Ahead, he saw the bar across the entrance to the lot and knew from experience that it would be made of an alloy. It looked slightly dented, but in tact.

Firewind passed someone he didn’t recognize on the stairs as he quickly made his way down them. The man wasn’t shooting at him, and no one was shooting at the man, so he’d worry about getting their package away from this building in one piece. He handled the stairs well enough, slipping only once, but easily regaining his footing as he came right up behind Spiff as then passed him to eventually reach DigitalScribe, whom Firewind recognized with a nod (worry about what brought him into this later), and then the pavement, the last few steps causing the fire escape stairwell to bounce on its supports.

The strange turn of events and the convoluted way that this whole thing was going down had forced Croaker’s hand. After giving his instructions, the nomad had turned and rushed up the alley to provide Coyote and Preacher with some fire support, grenade in hand. As he ran, Croaker spotted Preacher firing around the corner, but Coyote lay prone on the ground, not moving. He also spotted the van peeling out in the rain just as it was rounding the corner of the building taking it out of sight… and then the phone he’d taken began to vibrate in his pocket. He had to drop the grenade into his pocket to retrieve the phone and as soon as he popped it open Bullseye’s frantic instructions filled his ear followed immediately by the click of the disconnect.

Moving to the southern corner of the second story fire escape, Spiff crossed in front of two windows that reflected his legs and lower body as well as giving off a soft, yellow glow from inside. He could see some gangers having barricaded themselves behind a couch nearby and just as he reached the second window, for some reason, one of the gangers turned and looked out at him. It happened in a split second that the ganger pointed and the others turned to look. Spiff knew without a doubt that their position was compromised just as he slipped passed the window and to the safety of the rough plas-brick wall at the corner where he quickly snapped off the picture of the alley beyond.

Frankie watched for a brief second as Croaker turned and ran down the alley before he glanced over his shoulder to where Guardian and Peacekeeper were descending. This was certainly a dicey situation, and not just because of the gangers. He wished he had some way to communicate covertly with the big black man to tell him what he was really thinking, and to be on his guard. Something had definitely changed in Croaker over the past few hours and he wasn’t sure he could trust him not to put a bullet in his head when this settled down—and he sure as hell wasn’t sure he could trust Peacekeeper not to! With a slight shake of his head, the media mentally switched his camera on just as Firewind passed his position, the sleek metal device turning to follow the medtech’s progress; then DigitalScribe moving in his wake.

“Through there,” Frankie put a hand on Firewind’s shoulder and directed him towards the parking lot. “We don’t have much time, but that will give us the best chance of getting away quickly. Who knows, we might even be able to hijack a ride.”

Gunfire sparked chips of fake rock into Preacher’s face. The man wore a grim smile as he braced himself to roll around the corner and open fire once more. Now that the van was gone, he didn’t plan on sticking it out here very long. He was fully intending to lay down one blast of full-auto and then turning tail and hauling ass down the way Croaker had gone. His thumb rolled the lever to full-auto, then Preacher rounded the corner with his head and shoulders, weapon raised, and fired. He felt the buck of the weapon and the spray of hot lead darted off towards the advancing gangers. The three who’d burst from the entrance and continued on when he’d first fired were caught up in the array, their bodies jerking like puppets on the string of a person in seizure before they fell jumbled to the pavement.

Guardian made it down from the third floor to the second, his weapon immediately focusing on the windows of the new level when the windows shattered with the sound of gunfire. Sparks lifted from the metal of the fire escape all around him and Peacekeeper and the bodyguard felt one strike his right leg just below the knee, the jolt of it nearly buckling his leg backward. Grimacing, he realized that round hadn’t penetrated his armor. Inside, he spotted a group of ten Wild Things, all with automatic submachine guns, and two of them had just tore through the windows with hot lead. He’d been lucky that they had done so from the hip, instead of taking the time to aim. Peacekeeper—at a slightly higher elevation than Guardian—heard the ricocheting rounds but didn’t feel any impact. For both of them, proceeding past the second story would be a very dangerous endeavor.

The van smashed into the metal bar with all the power Bullseye could muster from it. The nomad felt the jarring sensation ride up his shoulders as it bent away and broke free. Focusing on the obstacles ahead, he twisted that wheel to the right once more, sending the awkward vehicle on a tight turn with ease and grace. Facing north once more, the nomad slammed the gearshift back into place and floored it once more. He sped past the parked cars, fully aware of the overhead cameras watching his progress and documenting his skill. As he drew near to the north end of the lot he realized he’d have to make a quick change in plans. The original plan had been to put that big van through the chainlink fence that surrounded the lot, ripping an opening for him to just plow out through the alley beyond after picking up his crew. But now, with the north side of the lot in full view and approaching quickly, the nomad saw that there was a three foot tall cement wall topped off by the fence between him and freedom.

Scanning the fence, Bullseye was relieved to see the opening in it that allowed people from the apartments nearby to access their vehicles. It was near the northeast corner, and through it, he could see Firewind and the fellow he’d recognized from the Night Owl earlier that night… DigitalJumper? No, DigitalScribe. A friend of Croakers, if he remembered correctly. They were on their way into the parking lot and Bullseye could only hope the others were hot on their heels.

Rolling the wheel to the left at the last moment, Bullseye down-shifted to first and slammed on the break, placing him within a couple of meters of the entrance to the parking lot.

Moving in the direction DigitalScribe had given him, Firewind was relieved to see their van pull up on the other side of the fence. Maybe this would work after all.

Situation Normal all F***ed up!!

The Mean Streets – Upper East Side – Night City – March, Friday 13th, 2020, 12:53am
Croaker moved fast, hoping that the black man would help the rest of the companions, his only thought was too reach Preacher and Coyote, unfortunately for one of them he was too late.
Preacher chose that moment to stand and turn towards Croaker, running by him at full speed.

"Git, son! Are ya daft? They'll be comin' outta that building like a mob of angry steers all stampedin' and such!"
Without a word in reply the Nomad turned and quickly followed the Solo, only to see as he returned to the fire escape that Spiff, Guardian and Jaimy were trapped 2 stories up, auto weapons fire coming from the 2nd story window. Scribe and Firewind seemingly having made it out of the fire fight as Croaker did not see either body.

Spotting the van through the chainlink fence Croaker shouted quick instructions to Preacher, “Preacher head for the van, it should be in that big parking lot behind us, cover us from there as we run for it”
Croaker knew what he planned was risky, very risky, but in the end he really did not have a choice. He knew there was no way Jaimy, Spiff and Guardian were getting off those stairs with a s*** load of lead coming their way. The chances of them making it very slim.

Raising the SMG to his eye, steady in his hands and Smart link active he fired the loaded gren through the 2nd story window in front of the fire escape.

“Grenade on the way, cover yourselves”
he shouted as he fired it, he only hoped the three of them would understand.....

(OOC: OK Brom this may be my last post till the middle of next week so please don't kill me till then )

um....whoops?

Spiff paused, looking back to the group coming behind him, and down to the group leaving on the ground, then back to his wrist. At first, he wanted to check the picture, but he knew there was no time. He thought about making time by waiting for the others behind him, but they were gaining bullet holes every second. "Frack this!" he shouted and leaped off the fire escape, toward the retreating figure of Firewind. "I'm gettin' the Frack outta here!" And as he landed, pain shooting up his leg, he put every ounce of energy he had to getting to the van, and hopefully that would mean safety.

His mind slipped briefly to thoughts of his phone, and the danger that it could cause the group if found, but the gunfire from upstairs had decided for him that there was no other option. He ran, crawled, scraped, and pushed his way into the van, whatever it took, without regard for anyone else's health or safety. Spiff couldn't afford to die in this mess, he had business to attend to.

Hope you hit the window, Croaker!

It all was happening fast - almost too fast. The Mexican standoff suddenly became a chaos of shouting people and screaming bullets. But then again, they all knew it would. Precious time had been wasted on bitterness and anger, but from Guardian's point of view, there had been nothing else he could do. Even though all their lives were pretty close to coming to an end in a few seconds time, priorities still mattered. DigitalScribe was still his boss and the one calling the shots for him.

Fortunately Croaker gave it up and saw the foolishness of the situation too: “Guardian help Peacekeeper cover the fire escape for pursuing Wild Things, give her this” Pulling the second police SMG off his shoulder he threw it lightly to Guardian.

The big black man nodded to Croaker and in one smooth flowing move lowered his huge handgun, swung around on his hard leather soles of his combat boots and lifted his left hand in time to catch the flying sub. The movement never stopped as the bald bodyguard started heading back up. He knew it wasn't really a wise thing to do right now. To him, he and Frankie should've bailed out right away and left this lot on their own. But once again DS had made the decision for them and Frank would respect that.

With his feet slipping slightly on the wet metal grills, Guardian made his way quickly past the two men heading down. Automatically and without giving it another thought, the bodyguard checked that Firewind and Spiff weren't going to pop extra ventilation holes into Scribe's head as they headed down.

Thinking he could waste another second, Frank stopped and rolled his big, leatherish-kevlar covered shoulders to loosen up his muscles and checked again that his Kendachi blade well within reach. A sweet wave of pain ran through his upper arms and neck reminding the big man of some neglected hours at the gym. Wiping the rain from his forehead, Guardian resumed the advance.

...only to stop again, but this time not of his own free will, as the 2nd story window was obliterated by a wave of hot lead. As if with a life of its own, the Armalite swung towards the window guided by the smartlink. Just as it did, one of the bullets found a target and tried to penetrate Guardian's Gibsons right under his knee. But fortunately it wasn't an AP and the battlegear was able to shake it off. The leg inside the armor nearly wasn't though and almost gave in under the impact.

Frank could see ten or so of the gangers inside - all armed to the teeth and knew he had nearly no time to act. He needed to move fast now - faster than his reflexes normally would let him. Sending a mental command to activate the Sandevistan chip inside the back of his skull, Guardian took a couple of steps backward to avoid another direct hit. There was no way the two of them were going to get past the hole in the wall in one piece, or even alive.

It was as if Croaker had read his mind. Grenade. We need a fragging grenade! “Grenade on the way, cover yourselves” Frank could hear the familiar "plop" of the launcher two stories down and threw himself flat on the fire escape trying to take Peacekeeper down as well and cover the beautiful bounty hunter from the explosion as well as as possible.

An unexpected arrival...

“Croaker asked me to give this to you,” Peacekeeper grabbed the weapon from the barrel and quickly grabbed hold of the back her finger quickly sitting on the trigger, but she didn't aim it to the man as she would have liked. He hadn't caused her any danger thus far, in fact, he had actually helped her by providing her with another weapon in which to fight the enemies off. Hissingly she spoke "They shouldn't worry. I can manage" she winced slightly as she had stopped to talk to him, but continued to make her descent following his lead.

The burning from her prior wound was no longer affecting her for she had grown used to the occasional deep stinging. The sound of raucous, and instantly she aimed her weapon as she crept around the corner and biting her lip she peered inside the window to notice 10 of the Wild Things coming their way quickly. Shaking her head she cursed in a whisper to herself while completely forgetting that Guardian was in fact on her side. Right now all she could see was that she would have to get past this window without getting another bullet into her. She had a job to take up this end of the area, and she wasn't about to fail her job. Her life as a bounty hunter was too dear to her that she wouldn't let her personal problems interfere with her mission. Taking aim with the new weapon she was given she took a few seconds to aim and shoot at a couple as she swiftly ran past the window that was now shattered from bullet holes.

It was in that moment she heard Croaker's voice. Her eyes found him only moments before the window completely shattered as the grenade was shot in, and she quickly leaped down and ducked for cover but keeping herself alert and ready to attack. She just hoped she was far enough away from the grenade that she wouldn't feel it's effects. She wondered how well the stairs would hold their weight after the grenade exploded.

She also took notice of Spiff running off and she cursed herself more, thoughts racing through her mind in regards to Guardian's sudden change in priorities. She couldn't decide if he was helping them only to kill them later, or if maybe he realized things could work if they worked together. Shaking her head free of thoughts she braced herself for the explosion. Her breathing long deep breathes as she occasionally glanced down towards Croaker, but kept alert for danger. It was hard to act with Frank on top of her, to keep her from the explosion, but it was a great thing that she was a bounty hunter for the weight of the man didn't bother her, but made her red in the face. She wasn't used to having any man near her while she worked, let alone a man to whom if she could, she would have put a bullet through his head, but something told her to keep her bullets for the enemies.

Going for a pickup

Bullseye feels the truck lurch as he gets back onto the street as he heads south to the entrance of the parking lot. He feels it lurch again when he hits a curbs turning the corner hard. Not wanting to waste anytime he keeps his foot nailed to the floor while running thru the gears. "Man this whole op has turn into a major frackin disaster." he says to himself as he approaches the gate to the parking lot. Figuring now is not the time make unneeded oice, he stops, takes his ticket while doing his best to conceal himself from the camera and waits for the gate to raise before continueing into the parking lot. Once in, he is again on the gas heading to the northeast corner where he backs the van up to the gate/door in the fence. "Come on guys, lets move, I'm a sitting duck here." He mutters to himself as he waits for the rest to come to him.
