Will Adventure Come At Last?

Myra sat at the table thinking over everything. She was very interested in protecting her home and she would do whatever it takes Well, for me Kendra, I mean mayor Devrin, I would be the first to volunteer for such a task so it is with honor that I will make a presence here and watch after the towns troubles while the sheriff is gone. This is my town and I would do anything to protect it. I am no fighter either, but it takes courage to fight an enemy and since we are no major city, like Magnimar, if they cannot provide the help we need then I say, we must provide the town's strength. As for my young friend Welbry Myra continued turning to Welbry who seemed to be trying to avoid the others probing interest I'm sure he has his reasons to keep silent a part of his past .. looking at the others in the room one by one she added as we all do .. don't we

"Well, what i mean is, i was helping my town i led a attack and it went well, you could say." Welbry says trying not to go in to detail.
"yes i will join the town Gard's while you are gone." With a smile.

The New Town Watch

Good .. well its settled .. I'll set you guys up for free room at the Rusty Dragon and free meals while you are helping out the town. Just make a presence in the town and the people will know to go to you all if there are any problems. The mayor nodded at the group. Sheriff Belor and the Mayor shook hands with everyone and left the conference room.

Just before leaving, Sheriff Belor turned and smiled. I almost forgot. I set up an account for you guys to use at the bank if there are any problems. There is 1000 gold in there. If it is not used when I return, you can keep it amongst yourselves.
The pointy eared elf spoke up once more If you guys have time I would like to go over a few things with you about what I have found out about goblins over the ages. Are you interested?

Arielllyn--Ready to Listen

"You have may attention," says Ariellyn. I would very much like to hear anything you have found out about the goblins. She moves over to where she can sit down and be comfortable.

Her bow ans quiver right ever with her, wherever she is they are not far form her hand. The rich darkwoon bow gleamed with hand-rubber polish the shafts of the arrows were the same rich dark wood tones. They were the dest she could afford and had cost her dearly.

She sat and turned her attention to the elf before her waiting for any others to stay or go.

Riva

She nodded to the elf. "Any information you can provide us can only help make thinning their ranks that much easier."

Riva was already delevoping a plan for breaking up the group into shifts for the guard, and as she shifted her weight against the wall, she appeared deep in thought. Each one of the adventurers had a talent, and if she thought more on the subject, she was certain she could come up with soem interesting pairrings.

It occured to her also that perhaps pairing off the group woudn't be right, as it would leave sections of the town un guarded. Struck by inspiration, she pictured a map of Sandpoint in her mind and began plotting out sections for each member to patrol, as well as times. Time would have to overlap, so that the goblins did not think them protected by only one person at a time... She wondered how much authority over the existing guard she could assume.

As she waited for others to respond to the elf, Riva contemplated her plans.

Will add details later.

Selaro had come to the decision that Welbry didn't want to talk about his past experience on a battlefield and was on the point of getting up and leaving when the elf spoke
"Any information is well received, whether it's good or bad. But first, can I ask who you are." looking towards the girl in barmaids cloths and settled back down.

Her mind had already started formulating a plan on covering the town and on how to win the forth-coming battle; she had little experience but knew that the key was to play to the mercenaries’ strengths and the goblins weaknesses. A siege would be no good as the goblins would call for reinforcements, it seemed like a quick attack with insider help.

information

"Any information will be helpful to my and my friends pleas shear it with me and my friends. Welbry said with an interested face.
He sat down waiting to hear the information and hoping the others will join.

Ariellyn

Ariellyn was just listening, she was not making plans for others. She usually fought alone since her strength was ranged weapons. Give her a high place to observe from, or even move house top to house top and she could cover far more than a person on foot, ans see further too, especially if on keep a lot to the intersections of streets. and just move from intersection to intersection. Unfortunately she had no good knowledge of the layout of the town. Perhaps she could spend some time acquainting herself with it better when this meeting was concluded.

Responsiveness

Riva brushed an unruly lock of hair from her beofre her eyes and bowed slightly at the waist, setlling back against the wall after she rose.

"Riva," was her only response.

I would

"I would prefair to know more about you Riva, if we're going to fight the goblin tribes together we need to trust each other and trust can not exist when we don't know each other." Selaro says to Riva

Goblins

Ok .. here is some information you might find useful about Goblins. Shalelu Andosana set out a map on the table showing the region around Sandpoint.

There are five major Goblin Tribes in the area. The closest to Sandpoint are the Birdcruncher goblins that live in the caves along the western edge of Devil's Platter. These are traditionally the least aggressive of the five. To the south are the Licktoad goblins of Brinestump Marsh. These goblins are excellent swimmers and live in a ruined keep deep inside the swamp. East of here are the Seven Tooth goblins of Shank's Wood. These are known to raid Sandpoint's junkyard and rebuild the stolen refuse into weapons and armor. Further east are the Mosswood goblins. The Mosswood tribe is the largest but is traditionally unorganized due to conflict within families within their own ranks. The final major tribe is the Thistletop goblins who live on the Nettlewood coast atop a small island.

There are also goblin heroes as well. It is unusual for a goblin to live long enough to gain hero status but there are a few we know of. Big Gugmut is a Mosswood goblin who is said to have had a hobgoblin for a mother and a wild boar for a father. Koruvus was a champion of the Seven Tooth tribe. He was known to keep a prized magical sword but he has disappeared lately and we have seen little activity from him. Vorka, a notorious cannibal lives in the Brinestone Swamp but has been outcast from her own tribe. Ripnugget is the current leader of the Thistletop tribe and controls the best goblin lair. Bruthazmus, an infamous bugbear ranger lives in Nettlewood and often trades amongst the five tribes. Bruthazmus is probably the most dangerous of the group.

Now what do you guys know about Goblins in general. Let me tell you a few helpful things.

1. Goblins hate horses mostly out of fear of getting stepped on
2. Goblins hate dogs. They raise mounts called goblin dogs which are more like rats, but an actual dog scares them greatly
3. Goblins raid junkyards and build makeshift stuff from junk
4. Goblins love to sing. Unfortunately their songs are only appealing to other goblins
5. Goblins are sneaky and can never be trusted. They can hide in the smallest and most unlikely places so watch out for them everywhere
6. Goblins are crazy. They might just as easily hide in an oven only to have someone turn it on while they are inside. Dumb little creatures they are
7. Goblins are voractious. They will take a dozen meals a day if they can .. so they are always raiding in order to get more food
8. Goblins like fire. They love to burn things. Give a goblin a torch and it is a bad day
9. Goblins get stuck easily. Even though they are small they have wide heads so sometimes they get them stuck in places they try to hide
10. Goblins believe that writing can steal your soul. Goblins always use pictures to depict what they want to say. Writing apparently "steals" words out of your head that you could never get back.

Hum

"Goblins are afraid of dogs and horses," from just the tone of her voice you could tell Selaro was forming a plan
"if any one ride that would be a useful asset and if you can't I suggest that you purchase a large dog that is trained to attack. Now, we have been granted 1000 gold for the upkeep of the town, I suggest that our first purchase with that should be the purchase of dogs for the north gate and for the bridges in and out of town, they are easily defensible and we can post guard members outside the Two Knight Brewery and Rovanky Tannery, that will assure that no goblins enter the town. As for us patrolling the town I suggest that we split up and patrol the an area of the town with a member of the guard."
OOC: Brianna, Chunky-Monkey, Glory of Gallifrey, Laurelestra, stryke and myself are still playing. If this list is somehow wrong please PM me with the correction.

PS: stryke wants to continue but is unable to because of exams.

Routes

Selaro also points out her proposed routes for the groups
"There are 6 of us, I propose that we split into our groups and half of us do the night shifts and each shift will be 8 hours long, these are my proposed routes" Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
