Moving the Injured

Agela quickly responded It's not that we can't move him .. I just think it's best not to. His wound may have healed up but he is still in no state for travel. She continued as the elf headed towards the door. I am not yet trained at the neutralization of poison. The best I could do would be to delay it for a while. And I would not be prepared until morning to do such a thing. If he is still holding on when the sun rises and Pelor shines his light once more upon us, then I will delay the effects until we can get a proper healer. If it is not too late. Make haste. You may still find a healer at this hour. And we should at least move him to a bed though Agela looked over at the rather large orcish man who had offered to move him. I think that would be nice

suggest and intro

She heard the exchange between the orcish one and the cleric, and turned to the bartender. "Where would we find the nearest room to take this man to rest and be aided out of the public eye? If there is lodging nearby, I can run ahead and prepare for this unfortunate's arrival."
Turning back to the others gathered, she said,"For what it is worth, my name is Xiu Shan. I most prefer to be called Shan. May I know what I should call each of you?"

She looked up at the half-orc realizing she didn't quite remember his name .. and realized he may not have even given it to her. Embarrassed she continued .. well .. it's nice to meet you too friend, what was your name again?

uncomfortable, now

"... it's nice to meet you too friend, what was your name again?"
Dog snapped out of his reverie. He looked at the soft-spoken one, nodded, and said, "Shan". He then turned his gaze to the healer and nodded again. In the same, low-pitched rumbling voice, he intoned: "Agela". Hooking a thumb to his own chest, he said. "Dogfish. Like dog and fish put together. So you just let me know when you wanna move this here guy.".

They pour the elixer down the mans throat, even with the struggling and the gurgling of it in his mouth, they get enough of it down. For a moment it didnt look like anything had happened, but his fits died down, and he stopped moving all together.

For a momenent everyone thought he was dead, but then, they seen his chest moving up and down. He was sleeping! His tantrums and fits had caused the man in the dark leather to become very tired, and he was quickly sleeping. For now it seemed the anti toxin had worked, for the moment. The group did not know how large of a window they had to get him some proper healing.

But for what little peace they had together, introductions and plans were being spat around the room.

The bartender stood up, and sat on a chair, wiping his brow.

" Thank Pelor you people were here tonight, or this man surely would have died, and the assailant had a sure fire get away. But now we might have a chance to get him. And if theres anything I can do, its go get the priest. Some of you might not be locals, but I am. I know almost everyone in all of PortsView, a lot of people come here, since it is the only tavern in town. And if he wakes up from his nap, you guys could talk to him. I need a break from all of this too. Hey one more thing, my name is Harold."

Harold stood up and took a deep breathe.

" I will be back with the priest, you people stay here. If you want a drink, help yourselves to the bar."

Without even finishing his last word he was out. It was obvious he wanted to leave from the beginning and that he was uncomftorble in such a situation.

When Harold opened up the door to the tavern, a rush of cold air came in and with a loud slam to shut it, woke the man up.

His eyes fluttered open then squinted and sucked in through clentched teeth as he grabbed for where he got stabbed. He then relaxed, realizing that there wasnt as much pain as before. He felt better than before, but his blood felt like there was ice running through it, and his chest throbbed.

" Wha...what...who are you people? Wheres that rat bastard! I'll kill 'em!"

The man tried to sit up but fell back on his back and was breathing heavily, but still concious.

( woo! You guys get 100 xp each for rescuing the guy)

He Lives

Praise Pelor! Agela exclaimed as the man talked. She looked down upon the man and smiled speaking in a calm voice The one who attacked you has fled. I have used the power of healing to close the wound but you still remain poisoned. Until the priest arrives it is best you lie still. The tall man here is going to move you to a bed .. ok She nodded at the half-orc to go ahead and pick up the man You are in no condition to argue. Shan is a friend. Do you know who this man was that assaulted you? We could contact the authorities directly if you do Agela stood up and gave room for the man to be moved while waiting to hear his response.

provided that I can find a priest

The dark haired elf suddenly burst in through the door followed by a priest from the local temple.
"He's over there, on the floor." he directed the priest
"I thought it wise to get you encase he did take a turn for the worst." kneeling down on the floor next to the injured man
"Are you OK sir, I have bought a priest to help you."

Priest or not ...

[Agela] The tall man here is going to move you to a bed .. ok She nodded at the half-orc to go ahead and pick up the man ...
[Ralnalgo] The dark haired elf suddenly burst in through the door ...
While Agela was speaking to the man to calm him, Dogfish moved a few tables together to place the man on until the barkeep arrived with the priest. This way they wouldn't have to squat down to help him any more. At Agela's nod, Dog bent and, with surprising ease and care, lifted the man to carry him to the makeshift cot. He was just placing the man on the tables when the door opened to let in some more fresh cool air, and the elf who had left earlier to find a priest entered. Dog nodded to him. "The healer says so far, so good. Barkeep went to get a priest. Says he knows everyone in this town. Says to help ourselves to the bar, if we wanna."
[If Ralnalgo comes in with a priest, Dog grimaces and steps back to make room for the priest to do his thing. If he comes back without a priest, Dog just steps back and moves toward the bar, out of the way. Either way, he keeps a sharp eye on the man he had just moved.]

movement

She nodded at the half-orc to go ahead and pick up the man ...
Shan follows the orcish one after he picks up the man to move him. She stays out of his path, but keeps watch to make sure the one the others worked so hard to save doesn't get worse quicker than they had hoped. The healer seemed to think they had a little leeway as far as time, but how much time they had was an unknown -- to Shan. As she moved to watch Dogfish lay the man on the table, she hears a noise behind her .

The dark haired elf suddenly burst in through the door ...
She had been thinking with such intensity that she had forgotten they were in a public place, and the sudden entry of the elf, whose name she didn't know yet, caused her to turn quickly and crouch defensively as the Mother Crane Protects Her Young. Seeing who it was, she relaxes almost immediately, but maintains the stance for a few seconds longer before rising slowly to nod and smile. " Ah! You're back. Your quickness in going for help prevented me from introducing myself to you, as I have to the others. My name is Xiu Shan. " She pronounces her first name like "Zhiew". "Most just call me Shan. It keeps them from tangling their tongues." She chuckles and smiles, then nods to him.

Xiu Shan

"Greetings Xiu Shan" says Ralnalgo Naloke, pronouncing it carefully but correctly
"my name is Relnalgo Naloke and forgive me for wishing to save a life before learning the names of those who help. Anyway, how is he? And who are the others that helped us?"

And the others are ...

"Greetings Xiu Shan ... my name is Relnalgo Naloke and forgive me for wishing to save a life before learning the names of those who help. Anyway, how is he? And who are the others that helped us?"
Shan smiles again and bows deeply to him eyes to the floor, then rises slowly. "Ralnalgo Naloke, you honor me with your use of my full name, unusual as it may be to your own tongue. I thank you. Your quick grasp of the inflections and tones of the pronunciation of it is quite remarkable. And your haste to find aid for someone who is a stranger to you is commendable, as well. I did not mean to denigrate you for it. Actually, I am the only one of those to help the wounded one who has not actually done anything. Well, not yet, anyway."
She extends her arm and hand, palm up, toward the half-orc and turned to look at him as well,"He has introduced himself to us as Dogfish. He seems to be waiting for something ... somewhat impatiently, but with relative calm."
Then she motions in the same fashion toward the cleric and raises her voice slightly to be heard by her: "The healer who initially knelt by his side calls herself Agela, a follower of the Almighty Pelor. Pelor is a name I am not familiar with, but this follower has done well by the person with her quick and selfless service."
She turns back to Ralnalgo and continues , " And the bartender's name is Harold. He has also gone for a healer or physic. I think he may be the owner of this place, also. As Dogfish mentioned, when Harold left he said to help outselves to the bar. I would think that a person concerned about their job would not leave it, but what just happened here is fairly unusual, I think. But the injured one seems to be better, and stable enough to survive a little while longer, so I hope help comes soon."
"I myself am, or was, just passing through. When I witnessed this attack, I decided to stay until I see it resolved, for I may have noticed details others might have missed. A skill I have acquired and often practice is that of observance of others, in mannerisms, speech, looks, and movement." When she finishes speaking, and as if to illustrate her point, she turns her head to glance and determine who and how many are still present

Everyone looked as the man spoke, and quickly rushed him onto a few tables pushed together. He was breathing, and as everyone calmed for a second, they got to know eachother a little better. Names were being introduced and spoken, and acquantinces being made.

Suddently though, breaking the momentary peace was the entry of the one who would soon be called Ralnalgo Naloke, and a priest. The priests eyes widened as he had seen the man on the table.

" Oh let me tend to this young man, may pelor guide him and let him see the mornings rise."

The young man, who was obviously just an acolyte, thought to himself for a moment and pulled out a vial underneath his cloak. A small cork stopper was pulled out of the wooden vial and given to the man who slowly drank it down.

" there, that should reverse the poison within you, and now for some of the healing touch of pelor."

The priest leaned out and cast a spell on his chest, easing the tightness and slight pain of the damage already mostly healed.
He looked over to Agela and smiled.

" I am assuming you were the one who healed him up before me Agela, I thank you for spreading the word and healing of pelor even further. I hope to see you again soon at the next sermon."

He turned and looked at the rest of the group, slightly bowing.

" I thank you all for calling for our services, the church of Pelor. I hope you have a pleasent evening, one not to much more out of synch with what you usually go through."

With that the man headed for the door, slowly opening and closing it behind him, some more air rushing between the cracks.

As everyone settled down for a second and talked more, they were shaken as the man violently sat up.

He looked around the room, and laid back down, looking to his side. He spotted Dog Fish, and signaled a wave to come over.

( assuming DogFish comes closer)

" I just wanted you over here to make sure someone hears me. This is for all of you. I give thanks for rescuing me, and giving me my life back, I will make sure to never work for them again. But I fear they all know me and my group, and would now try an kill us on sight. I want to strike a deal with you, all of you. You people have seen a great deal more than you should have anyways, so its perfect. There may be rewards in it for anyone, whether you are looking for mere wealth, or more. "

He sat up once more, rubbing his head, and draped his legs over the edge, now sitting on top of the table.

moving closer

Dogfish watches the priest leave and shakes his head, a little confused. The priest knew Agela. If they both worked in the same place, why didn't she do what the priest did? May be she couldn't. Yeah. She had said she could only do so much. But what she did do was pretty good. He does move toward the man when he beckons, but pauses for a few seconds first to let the guy know that he is coming because he wants to, not because the man could just order him around.

[[ The intended message of the pause may be lost on anyone watching, but it is enough for Dogfish to have shown the guy, in his own fashion, that he wasn't just some lackey to be bossed around. ]]

Listening to the man intently, he nods when the man pauses and says, Waitaminnit. The others gotta hear this, in case I miss somethin'. 'Sides, like you said, they're in on it, too. Uhh, Agela? Shan? 'Loky? This here guy has somethin' to say. Says it's about a deal. And some rewards. You's all wanna come and lissen? 'Cause I'm sure interested. His face showed more interest and genuine humor than any of them have seen so far, and lit up even more when he said "deal" and "rewards" ...

A request heard

Saying her goodbyes to the priest she smiled. She knew she was unable to help the man fully but she was glad for the healing that Pelor had given through her. Perhaps as her faith grew she would also gain more of Pelor's blessing.

Agela had moved back over to the fire. She was attempting to warm up the bowl of soup she never got to eat which had now cooled off significantly. As she took a sip Still not quite hot enough she heard her friend call out.

Agela moves over closer to the man. She was not interested in reward for her good deeds but it sounded like adventure. There was certainly more to this guy than meets the eye. She wasn't sure what opportunity this man might offer her and the others but she would certainly hear out the details of this "request". What is it friend. I understand you have a request for us?

A deal

Ranalgo moves closer to the man and says
"Let's hear your deal then." and listened closely to the mans response.
