Oh and Linnix didn't really 'have' the sword. She was in possession of it when circumstances led to its loss.

It doesn't count towards what she is permitted to bid for (or it shouldn't at any rate).

If it is to be counted, so should the healing potions that were used while you ran off back underground.

Items

As Artanis has lost everything, she will take whatever others aren't going to. The change of clothes, while belonging to a man, are better than nothing, and she can't very well travel and fight in the beautiful dress that she now has on.

Armor, and.. she doesn't need the sword does she? She did get that out of everything that was destroyed, right?

Artanis

There are multiple suits of armor avaiable
and a change of cothes while slightly off in size or form would be more travel worthy than an elegant dress.

You do still have your bastard sword

and you money if it can be brought to a metallurgist (or perhaps someone with an interesting use of spells) might be able to recover at least patial value from it all.

Loriel

In the morning Loriel is going to go in and retrieve the body of the woman at least for a proper burial. Moonshadow and I can jump across carry the woman to the pit jump back and then pull her across using a rope. and my horse. Rather the post all that in the thread and wait for a repsonse if you could respnd her then I can put in all in one post. Also I will take time to search that room the body was in.

Regarding what you wrote earlier Bri, Loriel can't use the bracers of armour at all. The bracers provide an armour bonus that doesn't stack with the armour she's wearing.

And I'm curious as to why you'd consider Kas to be more of a front-line fighter than Aelistae and less of a spellcaster?

The Shield

Ok, umm, why on God's green earth would Artanis want the shield after what just happened?! She has practically NO hair left for crying out loud! She's bald and scorched and hideous because of using the shield...so....O.o

Besides I figured no one else would want her to use said shield either. Not if it means having to use all their healing potions/spells on her to keep her alive.

*gasp!* Unless they are trying to get her killed! It's a conspiracy I tell you!!!

Because...

I think it's a nifty shield. (I think) The shield was absorbing some of the damage Artanis might have taken. And now that Artanis does know what will happen when all the gems light up, she can drop the shield before that happens.

Admittedly, the Britney Spears look isn't a good one. But I'm sure the hair will grow back...eventually.

hmm..well...

Yes, it is a nifty shield. The thing is, the stones lit up little by little. And even after the first battle was over, the stones remained lit. It wasn't until the second fight she was in that the remaining stones had all lit up and expelled their energy in the form of that burst of lightning.

So, if she uses the shield in the future, she would only be able to use it until all but one stone are lit, and then what? How long before the stones would eventually loose their energy? Would they even loose their energy? Or would they remain lit until the last joins them and they burst forth killing everything around it again?

Which, I must add, could be fatal to others in the party who are fighting nearby.

***

Yea, hopefully the DM will have mercy on her and allow her hair to grow quickly. That or let her find someone or something with the right kind of magic that will allow her to have her hair.

Besides, it's not the Britney look for heaven's sake! (gags) It's the J.I. Jane look! hehe

Well if Kaelyn is kind, he could allow some of her hair to grow back when Aelistae heals you.

Aside from some healing...

and possible hair retrieval, there is WAY too much roleplay opportunity here (though I realize it's all gonna be negative at the moment) to pass up. So aside form a little blurb about Artanis getting some health back, I'm sittin this one out until it comes to a peaceful enough resolution (or the dam of emotions breaks) and I have to step in.

SO *Grabs the popcorn*

Let the show begin.

Well...

the only thing I'm getting confused on is the time frame... are we in the morning? or still in the night?

For all intents and purposes

We're in the morning, almost noon actually, as I moved time ahead for everyone to get some sleep as soon as the captives were taken care of.

So all the views and opinions of the company are coming out over brunch basically.

Response to Aelistre

Frontline fighters by definition arr the big fighter types with lots of armor, they are the dedicated fighters and those that are fighter something lke Kass being Paladin too.

Atbest and Loriel are have the intermediate fighters light or no armor, ranged weapons and melee weapons but we were never made to stand on the front line and bear the brunt of battle our hit points are up to there as well, We also have armor restrictions, I cannot wear heavy armor or medium armor by class definition and you cane where medium and light though you are not well armored as of yet. Though we are skilled with weapons, we are not front line fighters. and I haven't seen Aelistaw her using her sword as often as the spelldasting.

There was no slight intended it is just the system that works that way. I think we can agree that Xarus, Artanis and Kas have acted as our front line fighters. Linnis is out backstage fighter, I specialize in ranged weapons and Elesia, and You are spellcasters though I do believe you have fighter skillls as well but I am just not sure I haven't read your character sheet.

My thoughts on the issue

My view’s on ‘fighters’ and In game information vs out of game information:

First of all, in half the combat Aelistae has been in she’s used her sword, coupled with her bow. Currently I don’t think Aelistae has used a single spell (aside from her Drow racial darkness and faery fire) which were meant to aid her melee combat. She’s used her bow in two battles,( Bandits and ogre) her sword in three.(Spider, Witch, Captive man) and her spells have basically all been healing.

Aelistae as a Cleric can use any armor she can manage ot ger her hands on, though her ‘vision’ as I see it just doesn’t mesh with a hunk of full plate clanging around as she plays a tin can priestess.

Kas, while following the ‘morals and principals’ of a Paladin, is far from one. With level’s in bard ad Favoured soul, your armor choices are limited if you want the full range o your magic at your disposal, and as for hit points? You and Aelistae have the same amount so again I don’t see the argument here.

Now, in game and out of game information:
If a ‘character’ has the mindset to deal with foes up close and personal so be it, that should not reflet upon their hit points, which as a character would have no idea what those were. A normal D&D person does not go about slicing their arms and limb for nicks and hp at a time throughout there life to say hmm, I think I can take 30 dagger pokes, so uh, if someone were to use a sword, and swing, I think I could take a couple of those, maybe a fireball if I’m lucky?

What I’m getting at is who really care’s what ‘class’ is considered a fighter class or not, it ‘s the mindset behind the character that motivates the actions right?

Bart’s a level 4 commoner and he was in melee trying to fight for those he cared for, his HP are pathetic compared to the PC classes, but that doesn’t change anything

Anywho those are my two cents.

Hmmm

Your points are valid, I guess I was not really aware of Aelistae'e being so much in melee.
