Bronwyn

Well that wouldn't be in character. She does not feel she is part of "your" group. And that is now how it stands. Without Elendil about she has had only your group and Lord Bart and interactions with keep staff and retainers and so far that has not been enough to make her think she could be part of your group.

It is just the way things worked out when we first met up and the tension between Elendil and the others and she was with Elendil. Perhaps once we get back into play she will have a chance to come to know you and what you do. Adventurers are unknown creatures, and Adventuring not a part of her world--as of yet.

I'm happy with that Chris.

I may change Aelistae's spells though before heading off to the mines (presuming she knows we're heading there in advance).

Updating spells is fine.

And Bronwyn, Please either let me know if you (Brianna) Want your character involved in the mines, or if you want her to work on item creation. I'll handle the in game approach to inviting you 'to the group.' I just need your intent for your character as the player.

Bronwyn's Actions

The way things stand thus far from game play, Bronwyn will be making scrolls and potions. As to what Scrolls of fireball, color spray, I will get a list to you as soon as I can figure out what I can make.

What about ME?

So I am off riding back to the forest. If I read my Forgotten Realms maps right I could make it in a day, at least to midway through the forest on the road cuts though it. As to where the main center of the Elves lay. I have no idea.

If Brownyn can make potions of invisibility, and is selling them cheaply, then Aelistae might purchase one. She only has 210 gold though.

Rambling about distant planing

Assuming the game lasts long enough to make it to lvl 12 and assuming Talus doesn't acquire a boring hobby, like pushing up daisies, what feat should he take at 12: scribe scroll or craft wondrous item?

I was planning on getting scribe scroll, but since Bronwyn has that one already, I was thinking about taking something complimentary. Only thing that keeps scribe scroll on the table for me is that I'd be able to make any scroll I wanted to... so really I suppose it depends on how large Bronwyn's spell selection is by the time we level up that far.

Never had any characters with item creation feats before. I'd welcome any comments or suggestions... anecdotes.... whatever.

Craft wondrous item could be fun simply because it'd be fun roleplaying making something weird, wonderful and/or wacky. But I can't speak from expertise. I've never played a character who made items before.

Question

Who knows where I can find what I can magically make i.e. Magic creation rules.

Rules Rules Rules

As is the case for most stuff that needs researching, the rules are split up between at least two books. In this case PHB and DMG. Take a look at the feat chapter in the PHB and the tail end of the Magic Item chapter of the DMG (not sure on that laast one).

Or, you could head on over to www.d20srd.org

That site has just about everything you'll ever need from the core books, plus stuff from a few other sources. Rules specifically about item creation can be found here:
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#itemCreationFeats

That's the 'how'. The 'what' is the same things you find for sale in the Equipment and Magic Item chapters.

Potions can duplicate the effect of a spell of up to 3rd level that has a casting time of less than 1 minute.

Wands contain a single spell of 4th level or lower.

Scrolls can hold any level of spell and any number of spells (assuming you're willing to carry around a scroll 50' long)

Wondrous Items.... grab bag, really.

alright...

I know that Kaelyn has no net for now he's just using his phone to talk to me on msn. So until he has net, I know for a fact he won't post. But I'll surely let him know that he's expected to post.

I figure

A little role-playing back and forth (maybe kidnap Bronwyn while at it) would be good, before we go to the mines for some more action. Also, perhaps our elfy-princess-runner-ranger (I'm not sure which tag applies best) should stave of her return until a time more likely when the return is going to be noted (as when she returns won't be for a little while, and just maybe Kaelyn has something for you to do while out traveling--like what those two in the dungeon were up to, with their whole exposing more of the plot by releasting that ice-sorceress lady).

Kidnap Poor Me??

Your character would kidnap Bronwyn? What a foul, nefarious deed, indeed. She is just an innocent and rather naive farm girl who is desperately trying to find a place to make a living for herself since the lord that now rules over those lands where she lived made it impossible for her to practice her craft. This is part of the reason that her self-confidence is so low right now.

You couldn't be so cruel. That would really just hit again while she is down already. And all because you feel that your own abilities have been over looked. We actually both have something in common --incecurity.
