Road to Glory - a Scion: Holy Roads game

Holy Roads
Chapter I: Beginning

Milan, Italy: 4th of March, 2008; 19:02

It was a dark, yet not a stormy, night. A train was to travel from the city of Milan to Zürich in Switzerland, but it had been delayed for few minutes. The train was to go through the Alps, and should arrive to its destination by morning. Aside from being delayed due to some technical difficulties, nothing seemed to be going to wreck the day.
It had been a beautiful day. The sky was clear, the sun had shone, and people of Milan seemed genuinely happy. It had been a good day to rest, or going out, or do anything at all.

Fate is the power that keeps this world together, and Fate saw to it that five unsuspected men would be in this train. The five were without connection, but sooner than they thought they would be forced to fight together to either save the world or destroy it.

Of course, they knew nothing about what kind of danger the world was already in, or how much greater danger it would get into. At the train station the world did not seem to be in any sort of danger. In fact, most of the people who were about to enter the train seemed very much happy.

At last, the train was ready to leave as the clock turned 19:02. Slowly, but surely, the train moved forward on its tracks. Within minutes, it had reached full speed on its way towards Zürich. Unknowingly to the five sons of the Gods of old, their epic tale had begun.

OOC: This is the opening post. At this point you can introduce your characters and make a first impression. Why was he doing in Milan and, more importantly, why is he taking this train to Zürich?

Eztli Salvatella

Slowly the lights of Milan started to fade away, replaced by the serene darkness off a moonless night. Eztli didn’t know which he preferred, the organized chaos and unpredictability of the city life or the endless freedom of the countryside. The cities where more fun, there was no doubt about that. But there was something very peaceful about nature, or as much of it as was left untouched in this world of industry and machines. He however did know that he really disliked public transportation, it was so rigid and he had absolutely no control over it. He couldn’t make the train go slower if he wanted to get a better look on something they where passing by and he couldn’t make it go faster if he was in a hurry. This evening he sadly didn’t have any choice. Getting chased around the place by middle aged bums wearing leather jackets and cowboy boots had been fun for an hour or two but seriously, it had already been a week since the little incident and they still showed no sign of giving up their little man hunt, talking about having nothing better to do.

“So god damn troublesome..”

He sighed to himself as he let himself sink down into the seat, resting his feet up on the seat in front of him, barely an inch above the head of a woman who was either to intimidated by his appearance to make a fuzz out of it or merely just didn’t give a damn. Silently he mourned the loss of the Harley he had been ‘given’ earlier this week but there was nothing that could have been done about that. The bloody demonic Cupids would have expected him to go by the road and would be waiting for him. Normally this would have excited him, he enjoyed a good fight just as well as any other egoistical violent brat on a permanent power trip. But today it just didn’t seem very appealing. Maybe he was growing tired of beating up bearded skinheads with a horrible taste in tattoos. He didn’t really know and he didn’t really care, he just wanted to fall asleep so that he could get out of this hellish high-speed cage as soon as he possibly could.

Maybe this isn’t that bad, it’s rather soothing. The vibrations of the train speeding across the land, the faint whispers of the people around me, a child.. Kicking my seat…
He thought to himself as he brought his eyes open again his annoyance rising with every touch but he dealt with it without a fuzz. The child was just exited playing a hard level in its game, it had all the right in the world too, and it would stop eventually. He just hoped it would stop sooner rather then later because this constant thumping was starting to really tick him off.

When it had gone on for over fifteen minutes without any sign of slowing down or stopping he decided to turn around and ask the child’s mother or father to stop it. What he saw wasn’t really what he had expected; there was no child and definitely no mother. Just a small bald man reading the business section of the newspaper with such hysteric glee that he found himself forced to make his feet bounce up and down constantly.

“Excuse me sir, but could you please stop doing that?”

He asked politely, giving the friendliest smile he could

“Buzz off kid.. I’m trying to read..”

The little man said a condescending tone in his voice without ever looking up from his newspaper.

“Let me rephrase that..”

Eztli virtually growled as his right hand shot out in between the seats, through the middle of the mans newspaper grabbing his collar tightly.

“What I meant to say was..”

He continued in the same hostile voice as he pulled the man towards him, slamming his face into the back of his seat so that only his eyes and nose could be seen through the small crack in between the seats.

“Stop doing that or I will break both your legs so that you can never do that again”

He growled at the pathetic little man, staring deep into his tiny little eyes

“Comprende?”

The man just nodded slightly and Eztli threw him back into his seat and turned around

“I hate trains..”

Guy Gavriel Kay

For Guy Gavriel Kay it began in silence, and it was silent in the restroom while the Worlds collided outside the door to the train station platform. And for a moment Gavriel felt like he had entered his own private world, just for a moment. He needed it, desperately. The whiteness of the tiles in the restroom made him think of cleanliness and simplicity.
It is beautiful, he though. The leathery smell of his trench coat bothered him a bit, though.

Funny, Gavriel thought as he examined his reflection in the mirror: This supposed godsend. A childe of Thor. He felt stupid and light headed the longer he thought about it.

The mirror:
Luggage being loaded into the train? Check.
Got your wallet and everything in it? Cash? Check.
Train ticket? Passport? Cell phone? Check.
Wash your face Gavriel. He washed it. (Again).
Remember the facial crème. Check.
Teeth clean? Check.
Pleasant breath? Check.
Hands clean? Check.
Nails trimmed? Check.
Hair ok? Check.
Cool looks & confident countenance? Check.
Adequate amount of cologne? Check.
Is there a wonderful, hidden perfection in the tie-knot? Check.
Frack. Check. Frack you. Frack that gunman in the coffee shop. Frack the bullet. But he ruined a good jacket, should’ve killed him for that.
Frak them innocent bystanders too.
Especially them innocent bystanders. Frack ‘em all. Oh? Frack the world ‘cause it’s not going your way?
Frack you. And your father. Frack your mother for giving into your father. What a whore. You do not know anything about that.
Frack you and your pretty little whore of a mother, and your daddy-o. “Silence!” he spit out.
Enjoy it while you can, frackturd.
Gavriel did, just as he had enjoyed the week vacation in Milan, the former capital of the Western Roman Empire. Next on the menu, as a continuum in the study of the Roman history for the history buff: Zürich. Zurich was wonderful - he had been there before - but he didn't find the thought of visiting it quite as exciting as he had thought. A lot of stuff had happened lately. For example: The headshot at some local coffee shop. His head, someone else's bullet.
Gavriel hadn't really "been there" when the guy came rushing in with the gun. He had been dosing off, meditating or whatever one would like to call it. Unintentional gunshot, sure, but it did supposedly hit him in the back the head, hence the trail of blood splattered across the table. The gunman had been pleasantly surprised yet horribly frightened when this mountain of muscle, two point two meters high, legs and arms like tree bulks, fingers as thick as sausages, rose up from the chair - unharmed. Turned to him and asked with a calm, icy voice any god would be proud of:

"What the f**k?"

That had been a very gross and bloody proof that something wasn't quite right either with Gavriel or the world at the moment. Not to mention the stuff back home: The armour, a ceremonial glaive and some gloves. His "birthrights". He almost laughed out loud thinking about the notion of it or the supposed "vision". Gavriel didn't give a damn about any of it. He glared at the mirror.

"I am not mad," he said repeatedly to the mirror until he was satisfied.

Guy Gavriel Kay took an aspirin before boarding the train.

Makaze Arashi

"What do you mean you've never tried base-jumping?" Arashi asked the man sitting next to him. The man was obviously not italian, and Arashi suspected from the man's outfit and overall behaviour that he was some sort of businessman. Probably a banker. Then again, Arashi would probably have guessed that any man from Switzerland was a banker. He looked at his own attire. Judging from his torn jeans, the shirt that just covered his armour (which luckily was formed like a muscle-suit, making the little japanese guy seem more muscular than he was) and the rings on his fingers, not to mention the glimpse of the tattoo that could be seen and his hair which seemed to have a will of it's own, there was no way anyone could mistake him for a banker. At least he had nice shoes, he noted to himself. He always prided himself on having really nice shoes.

The man looked at him dumbstruck. The little asian had been talking ever since he sat down. From the reason he couldn't go to London (his mom) to the reason he wasn't welcome in LA anymore (arrested for being a little too enthusiastic about stealing the attention away from some celebrity) to the reason he'd been in Milan. It had seemed the logical choice after snowboarding in the alps. An unplanned barfight had forced him to hasten his plans to go base-jumping in Zurich. Not that he was going to get a permit or anything. That just let the air out of the whole experience. So did the parachute, but he decided not to tell the banker that. Might make him come off as weird.

Arashi was way too energetic to sit still for much longer. Instead of scaring the banker more, he decided to take a stroll through the train to see if he found anything interesting.

Sebastian Cage

He woke up in a rather nasty surroundings, all wet, smelling I don´t know what and with a world class hangover. The first thing that came up to his head was:
"Where the hell is my flask?"
He reached into his pocket and was relieved that it was still in his pocket. In the same move he took out his sunglasses and put them on. He stood up and didn´t really know where the hell he was or how he got there in the first place. The last thing that he remembered that he was drinking after a gig he was playing in a small pub in the middle of Milan and seeing some little slit-eyed dude taking a hell of a beating. When Cage started looking around he rememberd that he met a girl, beautiful italian chick and he went home with her. Then he heard the water was turned on in the bathroom. The first thing that came into his head was go and join her in the shower. So he took of his clothes and walked into the bathroom. There she was, so beautiful. He asked her

Finally he got to a train station and without thinking he jumped into the nearest train. But when he got in he was immediately stopped by the ticket imspector who insisted the see his ticket. Oh sorry, I forgot my ticket at home "Absoloutly, right this way sir"
Cage sat down, took his guitar in his hand and started playing quietly for himself. Still with a hangover he tried to see some meaning in his life.
"Why do I do this, man I´m stupid. I should be doing so much more with my life. And the first thing is to stopp drinking"

But in the same momemt a cute girl in a really tight skirt and in a white shirt, wich didn´t really cover anything at all. And without thinking he but down his guitar, reached for his flask and took a long and good sip. Then he stood up, walked and said.
"Hey baby, nice shirt"

Jacob was sitting on the train thinking why am I going to Zürich he asked himself many times he had been on the train since it had arrived. After he received that ticket last night he couldn’t help but wonder what titanspawn he would be fighting soon. He didn’t like when he got an invitation like this to go to a location it made him feel he was being lead around on a leash but he loved the hunts and the fights ever since he had heard of them from the messenger his father sent to tell him of his lineage. That was such a joke so I am the son of a god of war doesn’t mean much just means I crave battle I already knew that though. He was still a little banged up from his fight earlier this week with the titanspawn in a town outside of Milan. The people of the town had been very thankful and had given him new clothes after the fight and some food but they didn’t have much left after the time the titanspawn had been there and the tributes it had made them make to it like it were their god. They had said he could come back later and they might have more to offer.
He still wondered at the person whose money he spent. It had been shortly after his half-brother had come for a visit that he had gotten the first deposit in his bank account. He had thought it was a bank error till his second fight with a titanspawn and he lost that one but he still put it out of way for now and still got some but not as much. Sometimes he got things like this ticket he wondered at because they never seemed to notice his weapons or they were paid not to who knew.
He was sitting eating the food he had left waiting for the train to leave. He was still short a few weapons like his guns which had been lost in the fight with the titanspawn outside Milan which had called itself Packard. He had looked for a few hours but he hadn’t found them. He might have enough to get them replaced if not he would have to steal some or hope that he got some somewhere.

(OOC Skari will send you background tomorrow little tired tonight.)

Let the games begin!

The train was perhaps not completely full, and the cart where Fate had found fit to position the five sons of the Old Gods in seemed nearly empty. The train moved quickly through the mountain range, revealing beautiful scenery that could only be seen in the bright moonlight that lit the sky.

Roughly an hour had passed since the train's departure from Milan. Eztli had not been bothered from the man sitting behind him since the train started moving, Cage seemed to be making some progress with the short-skirted chick (musical instrument has that effect on some), and Arashi seemed to be making no progress with the banker at all.
In between the notes of the guitar-string, the talking from a short Asian fellow, and the muffled noise from the train, Guy and Jacob could hear some noise coming from the cart behind them. At first it sounded like loud talking, but then it started sounding more and more like fearful screaming. No one else in their cart seemed to notice this noise at all.

In a sudden burst, a girl came running into the cart from the following one. She did not look much older than 20, her blond hair reached no longer than her shoulder, and her figure was damn near perfect. Beautiful would have been the technical term.
"HELP ME!" she screamed as she ran through the cart and fell down at the other end. As she ran passed them, all five of the Godsons could see the cuts, bruises and blood that partially covered her. She had been in a fight and it had been recently.

A man stood up and moved to help her up again. At that very moment, five broad figures entered the cart from the same way as the girl. The five figures were all dressed in leather jackets and all had veins sticking out of the bodies were bare flesh could be seen. They had red faces and bloodshot eyes, like if too much blood was running through their bodies. All were armed in one way or the other, and all had smiles upon their faces.
Leading the five men was a bold fellow with a chain leading from his nose to his left shoulder and an aluminum-bat. Following him was an overly bearded man who did not seem to have had an haircut or a shower for months, holding a fire-axe. Close behind him was a short cut man with a funky mustache and a tire-iron, followed by guy with a ridiculous mullet and a big army-knife. Lastly, a tall ugly fellow holding a misshaped stick.

"Ticket please," the leader said as he came closer to the man who had stood up, and swung the bat fiercely at the man's head so that is cracked just before he fell to the ground. Screaming broke out in the cart and laughter from the five brutes ensued.
"It ain't nice to run away, girly," the leader said to the wounded girl where she still lay, "we were just about to have fun."

OOC: Fighting, you pretty much know what to do. There is one brute per player, but I won't hold grudge if you take on more than your share (the others might though). Just think what your character would do in the situation.

Nearly forgot, I am imposing a -1 die penalty to all attack rolls due to the small space you're all in.

What the hell?

Arashi was so involved in conversation with his newest friend, an elderly man who had surprised Arashi when he admitted that he'd never been in a bar fight, that he nearly missed the bloody hottie, with emphasis on bloody running past him. He did, however, ignore the old man for the rest of the 'show', as he referred to it in his mind, and observed as one of the thugs beat a man over the head.

The usual grin left Arashi's face. His eyes lost their spark, they simply went dead. Arashi's face was as if it was cut in stone. Sure, he enjoyed this chance to show off to everyone in the cart, but he wasn't much for the whole "cracking somebody's skull just because he tried to help a girl to her feet".

Instantly, he sprang to his feet. Although covered by his clothes, the dragon on his arm began to move. Arashi jumped up on the back of his seat, crouched like a tiger. His right hand was extended, the dragon having exited through his palm. His hand was slowly disappearing in a black cloud, which looked a lot like ink spreading through water.

Arashi jumped between the seats zig-zaggin across the aisle. He ignored one of the thugs to head straight for the leader. As he approached, he jumped.

"Over here, you bastard" he yelled at him while in midair.

He spun in the air, his black blade materializing just before he swung downwards towards the leader's collarbone.

Interesting

Eztli watched with one eye as the girl ran screaming through the door and came crashing down on the floor only a few seats in front of him. The girl was absolutely beautiful, near god damn perfect so his first thought was to stand up and get his game going but in the end he decided it was best to find out what she was running from before he got to helping her.

Another man however did not have quite the same amount of common sense. One glance at him and Eztli could see that the man was most likely not suited for fighting and would probably just get in the way, he was just too frail and to old. But non the less you had to admire his courage or maybe foolishness as he went out of his seat to help the poor girl up from the floor. As predicted things didn't go very well for the old man, he had just finished helping the girl when he was put to death right after the cruelly cheesy phrase the brute spat at him before crushing his head like a cantaloupe proving Eztli's little theory. Those where not just random brutes going after a hot chick, this was something more and a lot bigger. Your average brute wouldn't hesitate to beat up an innocent a bit but they would think twice before killing them, or at least try to do it out of public sight. These did neither, that plus their disturbing apperance made it pretty damn obvious that this was something more.

But that all didn't really matter. Slowly Eztli rose up from his seat and walked towards the girl, his eyes fixed on her not even glancing at the thug standing nearest to her as he got into his range. To him the bat in the burly mans hands was nothing more then a toy, and he himself was but an annoying little bug waiting to be swatted. The man raised his club up, growling in outrage at the insult, opening his mouth to spout some more stupid s*** but the words never came. In a blur of motion Eztli's right hand left his pocket and struck the man in the face with devastating force. He could a loud crack as his nose and maybe even a bit more shattered into pieces and he flew high through the air towards the second brute. Even so Eztli had held back a lot with that hit, maybe even more then he had to. To be quite honest he was terrified of his own strength, he had no idea about his exact limits but he did know that he could literally tear a person apart if he wanted too and the idea didn't really appeal that much to him.

"Your face is scarred with steel, wounds deep and neat. Like a double dozen before ya, smells so sweet"
He said with a faint smile as he stepped closer to her and smelled the blood dripping of her, quoting one of his favorite songs.

"Why don't you hate a seat and take it easy?"

He asked and gestured towards a lone empty seat besides them, smirking widely

"This will only take a second"

He said as he turned around, keeping one eye on the girl just in case, fate had played some pretty messed up tricks on him before.

(Using back of the blade on the brute and Opening Gambit and gave you a very easy quote )

Hero of the day

After meeting this beautiful girl, it did not take Cage long time to pull up his guitar and start playing for this young little girl. He knew every line in the book but sometimes you don´t have to say much, just be silent and let the guitar handle the rest. After a while of playing and a few shots from his flask, Cage was more interesting in getting into the girls panties then playing. He leaned up against her and whispered some thing in her ear. You could see on the reaction of the girl that see was both offended but still curious. But in the same moment Cage heard a girl screaming, then he saw her running past him and falling down. Some dude stood up and was trying to help her. Cage thought to himself:
"Oh man, what a drama queen"
He quickly turned away and started talking again with the girl that he had been working on for the last hour. But then Cage heard that all in the train was screaming, he looked up and saw the man who was helping the girl falling down all in blood. And without thinking he reached down to his pocket, took up his flask and took a big sip.
"Here darling, could you hold on this for me?"
Said Cage and handed his guitar to the girl, took then up his cloves(creeping death) and put them on. He then slowly stood up and yelled:
"HEY,this is not how you tread a lady!, back off now or I will make you hurt!"
"oh yeah, give us one reason why?" Said one off the brutes.
"How about I give you six" Said Cage, and in the same moment the claws popped out.

About the time...

About the time when the girl came crashing through the door, Gavriel had already chosen and wrapped up the Vogue catalogue. A hefty volume this year, it crunched in his hand. Handy little baton. It was one of the few uninteresting magazines he could pick out from the magazine holder on back of the seat in front of him.

The girl came along, ran past him and collapsed on the floor. Then came the beast-men and he became the quiet spectator of the scene that unfolded in front of him. The good Samaritan was killed or so it seemed. Screaming fallowed, which was to be expected. He controlled his breathing, bit his tongue.

Someone shouted something and: “…back off now or I will make you hurt!” Distraction. Just what one needed.

Gavriel moved with ease from the seat to an upright position, grabbed the throat of the brute next to him. Then something new came along and it surged through his veins and clouded his mind for a split second - this feeling of conflict with a lovely little hint of a bloody struggle on the top: He felt homely.

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. The neck broke with ease.

Train Fight

Eztli somehow reacted before he even knew what was going on, but he was somewhat relaxed as he moved. As he stood, the thugs seemed surprised at how this person seemed relaxed. The thug leading these five was furious, but before he could raise his weapon or even open his mouth Eztli had punched the thug's face so that he was thrown to the thug standing behind him.

As Eztli helped the woman, the leader raised his aluminum-bat once more. "I'll smash your pretty face, mother..." he said but did not get to finish as Arashi came rushing in to the action from behind him.
"Over here, you bastard," was the last thing the thug heard, for as he turned to meet his new assailant he only met the shadowy blade that was Kage no Ken. The blade connected with the thug's figure at the shoulder, but cut though his skin and bones much like it would cut through a tissue-paper. In one good swing, the thug's body was cut open, from his right shoulder down to the left side of his hips, and crimson blood gushed forth to be spilled on the floor of the cart. The body stood for a moment as the life was slipping away, and fell then down as lifelessly as it was.

"How about I give you six?" Cage said as three knives on each hand sprung forth from between his knuckles. The thug he was facing seemed shaken, but the surprise did not stop him. The thug raised the tire-iron that he held in his hand, and screamed like a berserk while he swung his weapon unsuccessfully.

Guy waited for the right moment, and as Cage had made his move, Guy knew it was his time to act. He rose up and grabbed the biggest thug's neck with but one hand. The skin of the thug was stiff, like his muscles were completely tight. The thug was about to raise his weapon of a stick, but Guy's grip was tight and it got tighter still. Within mere moment after Guy had grabbed him, the thug's neck cracked, and the lifeless arm dropped the warped stick. As Guy held the body still in his arm, he could feel how the body's muscle did not loosen just yet.

The other thugs were slightly disoriented by the rush of attacks. Already there had been casualties in their group, but that did not slow them down or ease their temper. They all screamed with berserk rage as they swung their weapons, but they could have just as easily been swinging at the air around them. The Godsons hardly needed to move to avoid being hit, they swung their weapons completely without aim.
Jacob, who thus far had only been sitting in his seat and waiting for the right opportunity, finally saw it and drew forth his weapon. Jacob's Ginsu Blade came down upon the thug with the mullet and the knife, who had foolishly turned his back to Jacob in order to attack Cage. The gush of blood stained Jacob slightly, but his seat and floor were stained even more as the lifeless body of a knife-wielding thug fell down.

OOC: So we had some good stunts here for this update. GT scored a one point Stunt Bonus, which awarded him with one point of Legend (which he also spent in this turn on Opening Gambit). Shounin however scored two point Stunt Bonus, which awarded him with a point of Legend and an extra XP. Solon scored a one point Stunt, but as his Legend pool is full he wasn't really rewarded for it. Good stunt though. Weekend scored a one point Stunt, for which he was rewarded with a point of Legend after he spent one to summon forth his claws. Drakar did not post and so did not score a stunt at all.

GT scored 2 successes on his attack (after applying DV) and most of the damage he did was soaked. He dealt total of 2B damage.
Shounin scored 8 successes on his attack and did enough damage to actually kill the Extra. He dealt 6L damage.
Weekend scored 1 success on an Intimidation roll (after applying the opposed roll) but did not score enough successes to actually scare the opponent.
Solon scored 7 successes on his Clinch attack, and dealt 5L damage.
Drakar did not post, but scored 7 successes on an attack roll and dealt 7L damage to the target.

Next, please...

Just as the leader's lifeless body fell from Arashi's attack, a fire-axe almost cut his head off. He barely managed to see the attack just as he spun around. He bent backwards, the attack being just inches from making Arashi's nose a lot shorter. Seeing as he was already off-balance, Arashi cartwheeled backwards, kicking the leader's body towards his new assailant. The corpse fell into the guy's arms like a girl that's had too much to drink.

Using the momentum from the cartwheel, Arashi took a backflip and landed in a split, with one leg on a seat on each side of the train-cart. He'd landed with his sword held above him, a menacing glance in his eyes. Now was the time to really show off.

He brought the blade down, as if swinging at his opponent. He missed by at least three yards, but that was clearly intentional as black ripples flew through the air towards the axe-guy.

On a side note, Arashi also shook his butt a little in case the guy who'd first punched the leader was still standing behind him. He didn't like it when people had faster reactions than he did.

What a strange little person

If Eztli's list of strange things he had seen hadn't become so damn long in the few years since he had met his father, he would have been really stunned by what he saw when he turned to face the rest of the goons. Instead he merely raised his eyebrows slightly as he carnage before him.

"It seems that this will take even shorter then i had imagined.."

He whispered to himself and looked at the girl over his shoulder, giving her a slight smile as he thought to himself

"Or it just got a whole lot worse.."

He didn't know the men before him, but they were definitely a greater threat then the burly thugs if they were hostile. From what he saw they were all highly skilled, just watching them made his blood boil with excitement. But his silent admiration was cut short when the Asian midget split the man he had so graciously spared in two with his black tattoo.. sword.. thing.. Even though he could hear a small voice in the back of his head telling him that the little fellow had a perfect right to do what he wanted he couldn't help but feel slightly angered at seeing something like that happening right in front of him. He had nothing against wanton violence but you really shouldn't take a life without the person thouroghly deserving the fate and the thug really hadn't done anything to the midget except perhaps make him feel self consious about his size.

He could feel his fist clench as the little fellow spun back, landing right in front of him only a few steps out of his reach.

"No.. It's not my place to tell others what to do.. I don't have the right to judge others for their actions.."

He whispered to himself and unclenched his hand, turning back to the girl.

"Seems that things are relatively under control... Are you alright? Why are they after you? Your beautiful and obviously not very low class but thats hardly a reason to rough you up quite that much.."

He said, giving her a slight smile as he stepped closer to her taking a better look at her body and her.. Condition.

Finish it!

As his comrade came flying towards him, the beardy thug with the fire-axe swung his weapon and knocked the corpse out of the way. The shadowy ripples from Arashi's sword crossed the cart and hit the large thug. Even though the ripples did not seem solid, they still cut through him as if Arashi was slashing him with his own weapon. The big thug fell down nearly instantly, with a large cut crossing his chest.

The woman stared at the others twisting and turning and cutting and breaking. "My name..." she said hesitating but quickly rose her confidence, "my name is Trista Odinsen, daughter of Odin Allfather. My comrades and I were attacked by these men and their leaders closer to the back of the train. I ran away. I need your help, my friends may still be alive."

A wide swing came towards Cage, but the tire-iron only met steel as Cage blocked it with the claws from his gloves. The thug growled and screamed like a berserk, only to have it quickly silenced by Jacob's blade. The thug stood for a second, only then to fall down into the two pieces that he had been cut. That was the last of the five men that had rushed in after the woman.

OOC: Arashi got 4 successes over the opponent's DV and did 4L damage total. Got 1 SB and no reward for it seeing as Arashi's Legend pool is already full.
Cage did not have a fitting Virtue IMO and so he took a Guard action.
Jacob got 8 successes over the DV and did 7L damage total.
Neither Eztli nor Guy took any actions worth rolling.
