Group 1 ... Okay Guys ...

..... from what Mayor Ormond has told us and it being 4pm I propose the following for discussion.

Obviously Group 2 is closer to the Hermit and knowing who is in that party [without consulting what they are deciding In Game from this Q&A Thread that we are all reading!] it should be safe to assume that they will investigate the Hermit and be able to progress from there!

What I think we should do [and what the Paladin in particular would do at this point in time!] is go to Building #16 The Foaming Mug Inn and investigate the scene of battle for any clues while it is still daylight outside!]

We can leave the donkey and wagon there and we have enough rations to "Camp Out" in the ruins and see if we can draw any Evil out of hiding while we spend the night there!

This gives us the opportunity to look for clues and also puts us in the proximity of the others who returned after disappearing who are acting a bit odd at the nearby Buildings that Mayor Ormond has already revealed to us.

Also, we are making progress in the direction of the Temple that our friend Deathstalker is itching to investigate and at this point Gunther is inclined to follow Deathstalker wherever his blood lust wants to take him in the adventure!

So let's open it up for discussion and make a decision here and get the adventure progressing!

The only other question(s) I would ask Mayor Ormond is about the best place to settle for the night and more questions about The Foaming Mug Inn.

If we agree to go to The Foaming Mug Inn then we could inform Mayor Ormond as to our intent and ask him to send word to the local Constable and Militia that we are here to investigate the disappearances!

Perhaps Mayor Ormond would also be so kind as to send word to Group 2 to inform them as to where we are headed and to warn them about that Hermit ring leader [as Mayor Ormond suspects he might be!] who is hanging out at Building #27 and since the good Mayor Ormond would probably inform us that there is an Inn near there, then it may be safe to assume that our compatriots could be found there by a messenger from the mayor!

What does everyone else think about a plan of action?

Sentinel The Small

I want to see what happens with the mayor before I settle on/decide a plan of action.

..... as courteously as I can ask ... did you read the new Orlane thread that Tripwire updated recently?

Group one on the move

I like Gunther's idea of investigating the old inn. I also really like the idea of informing the mayor - so he can inform the constable.

As for the mayor telling the rest of our group about it, I see two problems:
1. The mayor does not yet know that there is more to our group, do we want to tell him this? I really don't object, and it could well be that we already told him this in our answers to his questions. ("Are there more of you would seem a logical question for him to ask.")
2. Why would the mayor and his constable be our messenger boy? If he agrees, what the heck.

I do think we need to send a quick message to the other group - especially if we are to sleep in the old inn. This isn't that big of a town, I think we'd have time to do a couple of things while it is still daylight.

It is 4 p.m. - what time does it get dark?

Do we have time to talk to the closest "returned person?" before going to the inn as it nears dark?

sentinel the small

curteously, sort of, responds to gunther the holy and impatient with a "yes".

and now has the following thoughts .....
1. it is 4 pm; this furfoot is HUNGRY!
2. it is getting later in the day, having sat and gabbed all day, and this halfling needs to consider room and rest
3. it is getting too late to take on anything large and dangerous (especially after dark) since we still do not know what is safe and what is precarious (and HOW dangerous)
4. the thought of both little guys is to go to the inn and match up with the rest of the adventurers, if we can find them, for food, drink, and the evening; would rather bunk at the same place due to safety in numbers, as we KNOW something ain't right here in river city
5. the thought for tomorrow - early after a big breakfast and some real coffee - say "hi"/investigate the hermit or the storekeeper, or the smith or the carpenter or the temple.
6. our preference would be to see the smaller/lesser potential enemies first - let's tread carefully; the BIG enemies and support are probably the hermit as alleged leader, and the temple/clerics; hence, the smith, storekeeper, carpenter are probable firsts on our list.
7. after we all meet and agree, we suggest either splitting again and talking to/surprising two of the three lesser "enemies" or ALL go to either of the hermit/clerics.
8. the little guys, after offering these ideas are likely to go along with what the group says, and since they think that Deathstalker is one big, mean SOB, are likely to put more emphasis on what he says in a deadlock.
9. sometime Sentinel intends to go after that bum Doogan, no matter where he is, and get that fine internet weapon back!

Group 2

I say we wait for Stings to do what he is going to do or not do with the young boy that keeps staring and then head out towards that pack of elms.

Before we do that though, we should probably go ahead and secure rooms for the evening.

At some point, we need to make it over to the temple also

Sentinel's ideas

Noty bad. I could be convinced to do this as well. At only 4, we could easily stop somewhere and chat on the way back - one of the disappeared.

Also, I think these moves could be handled bery quickly by Trip - The night can probably be finished in one posting. I don't think we stay at the empty Frothy Mug Inn without having communicated with the otehr group.

Misunderstood your ...

..... post Consortium which read as follows:

I want to see what happens with the mayor before I settle on/decide a plan of action

***** Your statement sounded to me like you were waiting for the mayor to respond to our questions. So I thought you did not know Trip had posted his replies.

My Mistake!

Agreement

Deathstalker agrees with the plan to go to the old Inn.

Also, since I've rejoined the group, I can share what the farmer told me about the sneaky people in #9. May or may not be relevant. Perhaps a stakeout is in order, since they tend to leave the house at night. That's a job for a thief.

More jobs for thieves, possibly to break into one of these houses where people have left and came back and rummage around for clues.

BTW, any of our mages have a "Sleep" spell?

OK I am with Darque on this. Stings can do whatever he wants to do with the boy(dont take that the wrong way). Then we should get some rooms and head over to the trees.

Group 1

We are not quite all in agreement in group one - before we (I?) post on the other thread I want a little agreement.

Personally I think we have time to check out the old inn. I'd go there - it is only 4 - we easily could eat a snack on the way over. We did bring food. Not as good perhaps as pub grub, but still a meal fit for adventurors.

Additional comments from others at the mayors?
Any last questions for the mayor?

rooms

i concur with the general ideas for action but as for the rooms we need to decide if we want to all stay together in 1 or have private rooms. which ever we do i vote for a room at the end of a hall with a window for a speedy escape if it becomes needed. i can cast alarm on the hallway when we sleep to help give us some warning. also a window would allow the stealthy ones of us to do a little spying from the roof top and see whats going on with the hermit at night.

No Questions Here

No more questions. Time for some action.

Deathstalker doesn't think it's a good idea to tell the mayor anymore info, or ask the mayor for any help. Remember, we still don't truly know where his allegiances lie. If he's not yet annoyed with the group's imposition, there's no need to push our luck.

Futhermore, he thinks the night is going to be the best time to make our move. It might be time to do a little sneaking around, sniffing for clues, and even interrogation. He is very much at home extracting information and coercing people under threat of physical harm.

Not a problem reconvening with the group before moving on, but there's still more investigating to be done IMHO, and the night is the best time to do it.

I agree with ...

..... with Deathstalker ... time for some action!

The trail is getting cold at The Flowing Mug Inn and Ancient One can post his character informing us about what he discovered while he was on his solo journey!

Gunther was equipped with plenty of rations and knows it is vital to look for clues at that inn where the battle took place ... plus it is high time to start earning our bag of Gold we were given without letting the trail get another day colder!

sentinel the small

feels:
go to the common inn (find the group, since we don't know where they are

Sting and another with him check out the boy on the way

enjoy, eat, ask, plan at the inn

at night Sentinel, a fine little thief, will gladly go to the home of the people who leave - as long as one big guy (Deathstalker) goes too - reconnoiter, thief goes in and carefully tosses/steals/gets clues - big guy watches out

next day a group encounter
