More helpful information

I want to talk a little about posting in the game. Try as hard as you can to get as much as you can into a single reply to my post or we will have TONS of tiny posts in the adventure and that is definately NOT what we want.

For example. If two of you get into a discussion.. You don't have to post every page. Yes, lets do this, no, lets do this. What you do is you say, Joe meanders over to the dark looking warrior named Jim. "Nice to meet you Jim, if you could, lets discuss the way we will be setting up camp." Then you and Jim go to the Q&A thread and discuss what you wish there. Please don't just do a back and forth question and answer in the game forum. A single post or two that is well thought out and detailed should be more than enough to use per DM post. The DM's post should be detailed enough for people to respond in kind but posting 50 times in the adventure after each post is not what we are looking for. I know people are excited about playing, and it will be fun, but use the Q&A thread for lots of your playing as well. This is going to be where you ask a majority of your questions etc..

Looking forward to it

Tuesday? Sounds good.

I am looking forward to it. If there is any preliminary planning we can do - let us know.

IMs

Just a thought, but if we all had IMs going would that help with the conversation side of the adventure? I could see how it could also be a distration if too much talk was going on and people not paying attention to the board.

Planning

Well as for planning not much we can really do I guess besides determining our order of march. If we can agree on a basic formation for general adventuring it will be a start.

I would like to suggest the 2 fighters at the front of the group. The 2 rangers on the flanks. The paly and cleric at the rear. Everyone else somewhere between them.

In the middle of the pack

You bet that is where Haiden will be. But be aware she has a mighty sling and will step into the clear to launch. Don't worry about your helms being knocked off by an idiot attack.

Game notes

The problem will be that we all won't be in the game at the same time ;-). Having IM's won't matter. I am just going to be posting the initial post on Tuesday (probably morning) and everyone will reply when they get a chance. Then you post your questions etc in the Q&A thread after role-playing. Once we get going you will see how it works. It is at a very leisurly pace, so I hope no one is expecting post after post from the DM. I usually will make my post then wait for a majority if not all of the players to post a reply which could take 1 to 2 days, then make another post. This isn't a fast paced game.

Re: In the middle of the pack

Just don't go rolling any 1's back there, ace!

Never a bad idea to send a Ranger ahead to spring- err I mean to scout out traps and ambushes. After all, we have a spare

But...

Well, sending a thief that is good at sneaking around along with that ranger is a good idea though.

Nice to wake up to a bunch of posts

Hey Guys

Nice to wake up to a bunch of posts and clarifications!

Glad to know we begin on Tuesday which may be Wednesday my time!

Trip, I just wanted to know when to expect to get started because I am juggling my newspaper duties with Dueling, fantasy baseball teams getting started, fantasy hockey teams in the playoffs and this new adventure!

I will admit that this adventure has me excited more than anything in quite some time!

Better get my TOGS Spot written tonight so I can clear my mind to focus on the adventure!

Forgive my lengthy and numerous posts, but my link to the US from over here in the Middle East comes via MLB

Bumped a button

oops I accidently bumped a button and sent that previous message prematurely!

My link to the US and what gets me through the day over here in the Middle East is MLB baseball, hockey and ESPECIALLY My Dueling Friends and Friendly Foes!

This particular collection of Dueling Managers playing a new adventure together is helping me cope with some situations over here like nothing else has in recent memory!

Looking forward to the adventure and thank you one and all for being such vocal friends these past few months!

Gunther is willing to take the point or be stationed wherever is best for the defense and overall good of the party!

Thanks for listening!

Sentinel The Small

Has no intention of doing anything rash, and will do everything possible to hide in the crowd (or anywhere else) - so middle seems fine

Thieves

Yep. Send a thief. In fact, send all 3. They're no good in a pinch anyway. Sneaky little bastards

Careful

Or you'll find yourself a few gold pieces lighter. Don't forget we can find traps but don't have to tell you we've found them.
