Theoretically

A triangle root could be something to do with trigonomatic ratios. As for circle roots. A circle has no beginning or end, therefore it has no origination.

Easy

Wellll, squares can be stable or they can be made to be unstable, and so they need roots to hold 'em steady ...

While Philo could have been speaking of trigonometric ratios, the actual reason for no triangle roots is simply that triangles are inherently stable and cannot be made unstable. Therefore they need no roots. As for circle roots? Philo was mostly right: A circle has no beginning or end, therefore it has no origination. So it has no roots to start with or to use, much less anything to make roots with (other than the ephemeral idea of it's root being itself and therefore an inconsistent constant)...

(staying with the math theme)
Why logarithmic, but not brickarithmic or plastarithmic?

Perhaps?

Algebra was created by the ancient Greeks who had many logs laying around to do metrics on and thus was born logametrics. Bricks were scarce if present at all and they are inherently less environmentally friendly than simple wood. Plastic simply was not invented yet and so platicometrics makes no sense.

Why, oh why, indeed?

They are not -- "magically" delicious, that is. That is a campaign of propaganda designed to get people to try a product sprinkled with "taste-good" compounds that cause a desire for more of the product. These chemicals have the effect of permanently sterilizing the consumer and are the result of a concerted effort toward zero-population-growth ...

why is the sky blue?

reasons

The sky is blue because Glory of Gallifry ran out of black crayons as explained in the first post; at least that is her story. I believe it is a vast left-wing conspiracy to subconsciously get people to vote Democrat in the upcoming election (they are always depicted as the blue party).

Why do they change the name of dried grapes to raisins and dried plums to prunes but not rename dried apples and apricots?

because

The Coalition Lobby of the Raisin and Prune Developers formed a massive movement against the naming of dried products without their consent. The Apple and Apricot Dryers Union decide dto go without the specialized naming to avoid having to pay the outragious fees the Coalition was charging. This lead to the Great Dryer Lock Out of 57 and the Fruity Oats Massacre in 62. The violence ended in 65 when gov't passed the "no more dried fruit names" law, banning their creation.
