Subject: Quick post

Wyatt turns to Sam, Asher, Jade, and Wolf. "The lot o' you interested in joining me at the Slaughterhouse tonight? We're keepin' our noses clean here, so don't go seekin' no trouble. I hear tell that Patience is some pofù an' we've precious li'l clout nowadays as is. Don' need no gov'nuh makin' life more difficult than it already is."

Jade was pretty sure that looking for trouble part was more so aimed at her and Sam that anyone else. For most of the meal, Jade had been eyeing the guns and watch towers with a mix of curiosity and concern, wondering what everyone was so afraid of and had one point nudged Sam asking if he had any idea of what was making them so twitchy.

"I'm in, could even be fun, though for now I think I will stay here and help out a little. As a little thank you for the meal, help do the dishes, maybe even run some food up to whoever up on those Watchtowers. Plus that way if Williow needs anything, I can quickly run to the ship and grab things for her."

There were many sights in the ‘verse that Jade wanted to see and experience before she kicked the bucket but, seeing a former mentor in a way too small housecoat was not that list. Jade suddenly found a new interest in the space above everyone heads, smiling at the touching scene and happy to see the man she respected greatly to be reunited with his brother in arms.

"Where's Ma an' th' Kid? Willow still prettyin' up the jernt?" Sam tugged at the hem -and Jade found a space above his head to admire. "Ya been flyin' Roc all by yer lonesome? Wha' happened ta Jade?"

"Right here, Sir. Though when you said I might see you someday, I will admit to imagining there being more clothing involved," Jade smiled with just a hint of mischief, "everyone missed you a bunch. Glad to have you back where you belong."

Eventually things were settled with, and new routines were established. Jade had expected that she and the crew would part with Sam return, considering Sam was their pilot and she had only been a replacement. But to her surprise, she was invited to stick around, partly due to her pilot skills and another part her tech skills. She was more than happy to not have to leave, even if a part of her was curious why they wanted her around, and wondered if maybe Sam had convinced the Captain. Whatever the reason, Jade was still with the crew and still flying through the universe, looking more into the ‘verse and the people within it.

Day 1, Whitefall - Eagle Eye's Estate, 1:10 PM PT

After landing on the planet, Jade had been going through the shutdown protocols for Rocinante when the communication array picks up a DTS transmission. A quick checks the source, proved it was from Percival Chao, a wealthy socialite from Persephone, known for have a desire to "seek opportunities" out on the Rim planets, sent to Willow.
"I wonder if he knows her or something?" mused Jade before rapidly pressing the buttons to send the message to Willow's room and thumbing the comm as well. "Hey Piao Liang, someone named Percival is trying to reach you, I am just sending the message to you now."

With that sent, Jade pulled on her sunglasses and doubled checked her puffer was in her bag before heading out to the planet side. Dusty planets were hard on her lung, but the medicine should do its job. As they headed over, Jade bounced ideas in her head, trying to see if she could think of anything that could help with their string of bad luck. They were too far to reach any of her friends, and mostly they had to hope Eagle Eye either had another job for them or knew someone who could help sour this ‘good' reputation they had (Jade was pretty sure her parents were rolling in their grave at that thought).

A last resort Jade could offer was to sell some of the medicine that was for her. Lord knows that stuff had cost her an arm and a leg to get, and she was pretty sure it worth would be even more on this planet. The only problem was she needed that medicine, and selling the extra meant she had less time before she would need to buy more or else Rocinante wouldn't have its extra pilot. But things were tight, and it's not like the crew knew exactly how reliant she was on it. If there was truly no other jobs here, selling her unused stuff might be enough to skate them by. It would be a risk, and she be gambling on another job to keep her from running out, but,

I am counting my bees before they are thawed, we could get a job. They were almost at the event, and Jade brushed her thoughts aside before she got herself in a funk. Food and people would help get her mind off of things, she just had to focus on what she can do now,

But it is option

Jim and the Doc exchanged a look and Jade took the lead. "That very kind of your guild leader! As Jim said, not too many civil visitors come by. However just to make sure everything stays that way," Jade gave the shotgun a pointed look, "I will stick around and make sure that everyone gets a sandwich and there are no problems.

The Doc whirled his head towards Jade, "What? I thought you had to run off to some noodle house lady? And who appointed you lawkeeper?"

Jade had to bite her tongue from answering "I used to be a lawkeeper" and instead answered "I'm just want to make sure that everything is fine before I leave, I hate to leave at a bad moment."

"Now Doc, She is trying to help." Jim admonished gently.

"But we don't know her! Or them!"

One of the workers takes advantage of the distraction and sweeps his long wrench out of his side pocket to knock the shotgun out of Doc's hand. The doctor is knocked to the ground and starts to cough violently as the dust and dirt are stirred up. The others take up their hand tools as well and move menacingly toward the preacher and Jade.

Instantly the pleasant smile disappeared of Jade's face, and a stern almost cold expression replaced it. With the palm of her hand, Jade struck at the inner side of the attacker's elbow, attempting to make him let go of the weapon or make it hurt too much to be used. Mentally she could hear her sensei's lesson echoing in her head:

Don't kill, if you can wound. Don't wound if you can subdue

Not pausing to let him recover, Jade let her knees bend and dropped her weight onto an angled strike with her foot, almost stomping on his shin bone.

Don't subdue, if you can pacify

A quick strike to the back of his head to bring him closer to the ground, before alternating to his knee to make him lose any last sense of balance, and a final stomp on the shin bone to keep the pain fresh in his mind.

(OOC: Assuming Jade is successful and he on the ground and in too much pain to get back up)

Knees bent, arms up to protect herself, Jade focused on the closest attacker as she called out "Jim, take your friend and get out of here! This is the last place you want to be right now!"

Never raise your hand before you have extended it

Grace's mind was bouncing back and forth between panic and amusement. Sure, a large part of her recognise the danger of having her Uncle Steel on board, and was screaming to run, hide, and try to build a memory suppressant gun out of the spare parts but she had to admit that it was amusing to see her Uncle not get his way. If thus had been her father, she mused, Seth would have already have his gun taken away, Baron in the room, and Father yelling for the man to be fired on the spot. Part of her was vaguely surprised that hadn't happened already.

However staying her was tempting fate, so Grace pulled her hat down again and started to walk away,

"Say ... Could I get a tour of this ship? Nowhere near Lilianna, I understand but I would love to look around this amazing vessel."

"I do not really know the layout well Mr. Steele but perhaps Grace here could do so. She is the engineer of this ship and no one knows it like her." Seth replies and gestures at Grace

"Grace?" Templeton says as if something just occurred to him. He looks to the mechanic and smiles broadly, "Yes Grace. Would you give me a tour of this ship please? I am sure we have a lot we could discuss."

Extremelly long list of curse words

A panicked "NO!" came out of Grace's mouth before she could stop herself, but she quickly recovered with "I mean, that I am not sure I could do it , in a very short amount of time. After all, I know you have a wedding to prepare for and I hate to waste your precious time." Grace tugged her hat down farther in an attempt to seem bashful (and hide her face).

(OOC. I am going to stop here for now as I am not sure how Steele is going to react. If he keeps insisting on the tour, Grace is going to try to discourage it.)

The Doc and Preacher exchanged a look that could be described as bemused. The preacher offeres his hand, "Yes I am Reverend Jim and this here is the Doc. I don't wish to sound impolite but what are you doing here?"

The Doc does not offer his hand at all but gives a smirk to Jade, "Oh I'll be impolite then. What business do you have here in the Heights Ms. Stormy? Pretty eyes and a nice sway ain't gonna get you much credit with me or the Reverend."

Ms. Stormy? That's a new one mused Jade but out loud said "Well, thank goodness I am not looking for any credit, then. To be honest, the reason why I am here is because I have heard that people have been going missing around here, and I wanted to see with my own eyes, what might be going on," Jade purposely tilted her head to look at the fences, before lightly commenting, "One would think if people were going missing, the priority would be to protect the group that are being targeted and not build a fence that hides said group."

"One would think that a complete stranger would want to mind her own business in other people affairs." Doc Greene remarked.

Jim rolled his eyes, "Somehow Doc, I don't think she is the enemy here. Excuse my friend here, his bark is only slightly worse than his bite."

Jade hid a small smile, I remember doing this, it's the old bad cop verses good cop routine before looking back at them, asking "No need, I can understand a little caution, considering what I have been told. I was hoping you would be able to help me get some answers as to why people are going missing and why there isn't more being done to help?"

"Whose gonna help?" Doc said with a sarcastic laugh, "Alllance don't care. Builders don't want these folk here! Morningstar? Bah! Don't get me started!"
The name caught Jade's attention, and she quickly asked "Who is Morningstar? The local sheriff?"

Are you looking for someone Jade?" Did you come looking for a lost relative because although the Doc here is being very rude, "He shot the Doc a look, "He is right that the people here don't have many champions."

"Not quite, I wanted to know who has been going missing, and what they might have had in common. All I know is that they come from this area." Explained Jade I am also curious as to what the sources of these ghost are but I have a funny feeling you guys might laugh at me

At the moment, the comm. of jade's belt activated, "Jade, listen here. We got company watchin' us with a very intentful eye that I don't imagine is keen on seein' if we're the type they want t' invite t' a local ball. I'm not keen on you runnin' off on yer own niether, so why don'tcha come on over to the noodle house and we'll talk 'bout what you were set on. Dohn la ma?"

Jade made a slightly sour face but answered the radio with an "Alright Captain, I am on my way."

Shoot, I never actually grabbed a map!

"Sorry about this, but it looks like I am needed, umm, would either of you know where this noodle house would be?" Jade asks.

Doc Greene shakes his head. "Fancy end of town," he says pointing, "On the edge of the cliff so you can get a grand view of all the graves. Mei Long's Fine Dining for all the upper class and crusty Wangbada in the valley."

"Language Doc!" The Reverend said admonishingly but Jade shrugged off the words, stating "It was the Captain's choice, not mine but I won't take any more of your time. Joo how rin

"Pleasure to have met you Jade. I hope you find the answers you are looking for ..." The Preacher trails off as his eyes watch over Jade's shoulder.

Turning around, Jade see six large men walking it the Heights, all dressed in the overalls and plaid shirts that denotes Trade Guild workers. The men duffel bags with them and they appear to be handing out sandwiches and bottles of drinks to the people here. Doc Greene pulls his shotgun off his back and says, "Looks like you are well named, cause you brought a Storm of trouble with you."

"Trouble or not, I don't think sandwiches are a good reason to shoot anyone!" countered Jade, moving to block the doctor if he stated to raise the gun.

Jim gives the Doc another look, "that didn't even make sense Doc."

"Damn it Jim, I'm a doctor not a writer."

"Well, I would rather we didn't start killing people here Doc!" the preacher said with a disgusted look at the shotgun."

"Oh relax!" Doc Green replied, "It is just rock salt, iodine, and dried lemon."

Jade mentally sighed in relief and relaxed, but didn't back away. It would still hurt if fired.Jim looked at the Doc with a half smile. "You sir, are a bad man,"

The Trade guild workers moved forward and then saw the three standing there. "Whoa!" shouted the tallest one, "Put down the peashooter Grandpa! We come in peace. Just doing our civic duty!"

"Yeah. I am sure you are all just the cream of the earth!" Doc called back.

The men looked bewildered at Doc's mixing of metaphors. Jade can see that none of the workers are armed, at least not with guns but they do all have some sort of tool on their persons (wrench, hammer, etc).

Jim stepped forward, put his hand under the Doc's shotgun and moved the barrel downwards, "You'll have to excuse my friend's caution but we have had some strange dealings around here of late, and we rarely get civic minded visitors. Who sent you?"

"Guy, Our Guild boss, asked for volunteers. Said it would look good on the guild if we did some community service. It is just sandwiches and water. We ain't looking for a fight or nuthin'"

Jim and the Doc exchanged a look so Jade took the lead. "That very kind of your guild leader! As Jim said, not too many civil visitors come by. However just to make sure everything stays that way," Jade gave the shotgun a pointed look, "I will stick around and make sure that everyone gets a sandwich and there are no problems! ?

(OOC: Hopefully there are no arguments)

"Which reminds me, you never said the name of the guild or who your leaders name."

Grace tried to be patient, really she did. She sat by her cortex box and tried to wait. She even tried to dig out one of her many murder mystery books that she kept hidden in her room but she had not heard back from the Captain about the bug he was supposed to plant. Not even her favourite of the novels could distracted her from her nagging thoughts. What if the captain forgot to do it? What if he was captured?

Stick to the plan, stick to the plan, but what if-no,no,no! Stick to the plan!

The only problem with any plan is one actual has to follow them or have faith that the plan was actually going to work,Too bad that Grace had very little of the mentioned virtue, and replaced faith with para-er caution.

I have made more of the bugs, I could run out quickly, plug one in and run back, But what if Uncle Steel shows up,Mission first, save the fears for later,I won't bump into him, I won't bump into him

In her closet, Grace kept various outfits that were generic enough to pass as uniforms of repair people - the kind that no one looked at or even noticed on a ship. She quickly slipped into a suitable one for the liner, put on a cap to hide her red hair and grabbed a card left by Stephanie for her and Tess in case either of them wanted to go on the liner.

When she entered the cargo bay however, she almost ran into a man coming in at the same time. He was well dressed, older man and Grace recognized him instantly.

"Hello!" He said calmly, "I am Templeton Steele. I would like to speak to Lilianna Fairchild - my fiancé. Would you know where I could find her?"

ABORT MISSION! ABORT! PANIC! Grace froze like a deer caught in the head lights. Gorram it, this is why she wanted to hide in the damn ship!

"Erm," Grace squeaked before forcing herself to cough, trying to make herself breath "I don't know for certain, sir but I can get someone who might be able to help you."
As quickly as she could without raising suspicion, she darted to one of the ships cons, paging for Seth to come to the cargo bay.

(OOC. Assuming he shows up. Grace is going to wait for Seth to make Templeton go away and then go hide in her room. I was going to let her go explore but seeing her ‘Uncle Steel' has spooked Grace into hiding again.)

Subject: So...Why would a Doctor carry a gun?

Jade walked towards the town from the tower, which was a bit of a hike and brought her in from the side instead of the top like the others had. She could see as see approach the tall walls surrounding the junkyard on the edge of town, but there was another area. This one was fenced off with wooden plank walls and posts - very temporary in nature. As she approached, she caught a whiff of rotting food, urine, sweat and wood fire. There were people moving around in the fenced off area and as she got closer she could see the fence wasn't made to keep people in - many loose planks and opening. It was there mostly to shield the spaceport from the view.

Before she could move inside, instinct made Jade pulled out her communicator turning it on so she could get a hold of the Captain and report her status, before pressing the button. "Hey Captain, you there?"

(OOC: Assuming he responds)

"This is Jade, I just wanted to let you know that I am not at the ship, I am very close to the junk yard. One of the local told me about how there been an issue of people going missing and I am checking into it, I should return back with the ship with more information."

With that Jade took off her sun glasses and tucked both the communicator and glasses back into her pocket before sneaking through the fence into the shantytown called "Phoenix Heights." Crafted with bits of corrugated metal, parts of rusty ships, and mud, the makeshift hovels barely hold their shape. The ground is pockmarked with pools of muddy water; the air is filled with swarms of flies, the smell of rotting soybeans, and the sound of children coughing. The desolate folk who live in this half-mile area are mostly refugees from the War and destitute townsfolk who fell on hard times. Her stomach tightened as Jade realized that this was the forgotten remnants of the Unification War who suffer the most and that most who travel to Serenity View probably don't even know Phoenix Heights exists.

Jade kept moving, looking around for anyone she could talk to or any hints as to how these people have been going missing. Two men talking to each other caught Jade's attention. One was dressed with the white collar of a preacher and the other man was older, carries a medical bag and a short barrel shotgun in a shoulder-back holster. Vivian's words echoed in Jade's head, making her wonder if these two were the doctor and reverend that she had mentioned. The two spotted her, look at each other and then look back at Jade.

"Are you looking for someone young lady?" the preacher asks pleasantly. Jade could tell from their body language that they weren't a threat nor were they think she was one. But the gun was more than enough to warn they were expecting a threat, so Jade kept a friendly smile and open body language, not wanting them to change their mind.

"You could say that, are you Doc Greene and Reverend Jim? Vivian mentioned you both by name. I'm Jade Storn, pleasure to meet you both." Jade said offering her hand to shake.

(OOC: Assuming confirmation and some sort of "what are you doing here?")

"To be honest, the reason why I am here is because I have heard that people have been going missing around here, and I wanted to see with my own eyes, what might be going on," Jade purposely tilted her head to look at the fences, before lightly commenting, "one would think if people were going missing, the priority would be to protect the group that are being targeted and not build a fence that hides said group."

Jade made her way over to the tower of the spaceport. It was clear to her from the ground and the air upon approach that the field was recently broaden to allow greater access. But they were using only half of the area so far so they were expecting a lot more traffic in the future.

The tower was busy too but there were a lot of staff using makeshift desks and cortex consoles wired haphazardly across the ceiling and floor. An older woman sat in the controller chair near the center and was using a head set to talk to someone while she worked at her station.

"Yeah, I know that you'd like us to do that but it is not going to happen. Rules are rules and I am not breaking rules without someone saying that I have permission to do so. Yes, I realize your time is valuable but so is mine." She paused and rolled her eyes before seeing Jade standing there, "Hey! I am the boss here. You got issues, you deal with me. The law was in place when you signed the papers and it ain't my fault you didn't due the diligence. So you go to Virgil, Tell him Vivian says hi and let me know how it works for you." She clicked the headset and looked over at Jade,

"Hi there. Vivian my name and I am the controller here. If you are waiting for maintenance, my crew will be there as soon as they can. If you are looking for a job, can you do ship maintenance?"

"Actually neither, I was just exploring, looking to see if there was a place I could get a map. I must say I am rather surprised at how busy it is around here, I was under the impression that Serenity's Valley wasn't a place that many traveled to." Jade explained, with a small smile

"Well it wasn't at first but a lot of families came here looking for fallen loved ones that never came home. After that, some news team on the cortex did a piece on that and soon people were just coming to see the valley. That was when Virgil started the walking tours with markers so no fool killed themselves on forgotten mine. He then sold a lot of the land he bought up cheap after the war and sold it to the Blue Sun developers for making it a historical site. Shame really cause all the gawkers and the ghost hunters that come out just pushed the families away" explained Vivan

The term ‘ghost hunters' immediately caught Jade's attention, as a wave of annoyance moved through her before Jade let the emotion go. People who sought thrills from the supposed ‘spirits of the dead' tended to anger her, those same ghosts were someone else's loved ones and to seek them out for a few overdramatic shrieks and giggles was in Jade's opinion, the most disrespectful thing one could do to not only the dead but to other's memories of that person. However acting on that annoyance would get her nowhere.

Choosing her next words carefully, Jade asked "Is the theme park supposed to be the historical site? I don't quite see the connection between a historical sight and a theme park, and how that could that possibly attract the attention of ‘ghost hunters'?" There was a slight displeasured tone on the last two words as Jade tried not to voice her distaste of the word.

"I imagine the connection is money honey. People come to connect to the history and stay for the theme park. You know Blue Sun, if there is an opportunity, they will overexploit it. As to Ghost hunters, that is recent and that is more that they be body snatching."

?!

"Pardon? Are you saying there is something stealing dead bodies?" If there was something that was stealing bodies, Jade need to warn the Captain that something or someone might try and steal Havelock's body. Oh wait, she was the new girl, and ghosts tend to get more laughter than attention. Okay, she will need to go looking for a possible explanation and then warn the crew! That would mean going into town (yay!) and figuring out how to look into local legends without anyone laughing her off (not yay!)

Vivian laughed, " No, not really. We had a rash of people go missing in the last few months. People blame ghosts. We see lights in the valley at night, it must be ghosts. We hear strange moans and terrible sounds coming from the valley, must be them ghosts. People go missing, must be ghosts.

"People have gone missing? There isn't a mine or something out in the field that people would go looking for is there?" wondered Jade

"No Honey, there ain't nothing in the valley except a bunch of dead bodies and lost dreams. Even if there was, they ain't going to be digging around with all that munition and land mines down there. Good way to become a ghost if you ask me. Most people gone are from The Heights so ," she trailed off with a said face, "Well they never had much of a life anyway."

"The Heights?" Jade echoed.

"Yeah. The old internment camp of the soldiers from the war. They were moved to behind the junkyard. They either were too far leaky in the brain pan to find their way home or not enough money to get a transport. Left here to die really but Doc Greene and Reverend Jim keep a watch on them."

Jade frowned at news and acknowledged "Thank you for your help and time, I will let you get back to work," just before she gives a small wave and heads back down to the ship. By the time she makes it down to the ship, none of the other crew had returned from their other jobs. Good, that meant, Jade could go into town without having to explain what she was up to. While this so called ghost didn't have much to do with Havelock, people were going missing and someone had to do something.

With that though, Jade began to walk towards town, It was time to learn from the townspeople what sort of legend did theses ghosts have,

This was the day, Grace was sitting by her box, ready to hack and cause mischief at the drop of a hat. She had refused to be in the bay as she did not want to risk being recognized. Yes, it had been a long time since she and Templeton had seen each other, but for some reason or another, she always tended to stick in peoples memory. While Lillianna may be the client, she wasn't worth the risk of being pulled back into that world, especially if Templeton wanted to know why Grace wasn't with her family.

Grace watched through her many cameras as the doors opened and she suppressed the paranoid twitch at all the security features that the luxury cruise had in place. It was because of that one attack, not because there are space pirates or Reavers nearby. Now isn't the time to be coming up with all sorts of other reasons why they want security,

All she needed was an open door way and, if all went smoothly, it was just a matter of time before she had one. Before they had arrived, Grace had given Captain Jon her ‘bug' (a little thing she had invented while bored one day).

"I just need you to plug this into a wi-fi port. They should be easy to find, but try for someplace where no one will notice it or it will get knocked out by accident. This will let me hack in, but if I lose connection, at best I will get kicked out. At worse, I get tracked back to the ship and we will be in trouble" Grace had explained.

"So which of you is Captain Jon Brown? I believe we have much to discuss." asked the man on the screen.

Jon steps forward, "I'm Captain Brown." Motioning back to JC, "This is my security officer, JC Kane, I need you let you know he has a prosthetic arm that may set off your metal detectors. I don't want those little sweethearts up there making a mistake,Our passengers would like to disembark, these men need to be cleared through security and my payload specialist need some help with Miss Lillianna's luggage. ,and yes we need to discuss Miss Lillianna's and your guest's safety and well being,.. Where can we talk?"

Alright, let the games begin.

Subject: Ever feel like the Alliance is just trying to provoke the Browncoats?

Being the newest member of a team was tough. You didn't know the people as well as they knew each other and it was even more intimidating when the group was as close as this crew was. But then again, Jade wasn't one to let nerves get to her so she did her best to find ways of getting to know both the ship and its crew a lot better. Her old textbooks had not been exaggerating when they had described all the nooks and cranny that a firefly had for smuggling, so whenever Jade wasn't on the bridge, she would go exploring, humming one of her many tunes and asking if people needed help whenever she noticed someone at work. After all, the quickest way to find your place in a team is to find what they need from you.

With Wolf and Asher, there was a lot to do on the ship. There were a lot of bright and shiny new parts that unfortunately came with safety controls and power delimiters that the dock workers had to put in by law. But even Jade knew that those only worked against you if you needed to tweak the engines in the deep black of space.

Furthermore, Jade found the presence of some alliance software in the navcom which would have made it easy for anyone to remotely access flight data. After she had warned them of the ‘improvements,' Wolf and Asher had to rewire the pulse beacon so it could be shut off and turn down the range that it broadcasted. It wasn't going to make the three best friends, but hey, it was the beginning of a relationship.

Day 1, Entering Hera's Atmo, 5:30 PM PT

The day they arrived on Hera, Jade was rather surprised to see some traffic and a lot of chatter on the cortex, enough of it that Jade was actually given a spot in a queue for landing. It struck her as rather odd as she had always gotten the impression that ever since the war ended; Hera was among the planets that didn't get much attention. But this was her first time here, so she might have been mistaken,Jade thumped the comm tec and explaining

"Alright-y folks, we have now reached Hera. It's a little busier than I expected but we should be landing soon enough."

Probably five or so minutes she figured.

Turns out, Jade was wrong about that too as she had to spend some time explaining what their purpose was for landing. Seems that bringing a dead man did not fit into the tiny boxes of "entertainment" or "building supplies", once again startling the pilot as she could understand building supplies but entertainment? Was there something on Hera that she didn't know about? Thankfully the clearance codes from the stick that Sanders gave you, was enough for everything to fall into order.

Jade knew that Serenity Views was once an internment camp for the soldiers that came out of the valley but this was bigger than what she had pictured, bigger and full of shinier buildings. Jade landed gently between a Beowulf class transport and a huge Titan class hauler, before once again saying into the speaker: "We are now on solid ground"

"Well done," Captain Sung acknowledged giving the back of the pilot's chair a quick pat as was his way before making his way to the hall beyond. Jade smiled at the compliment and eagerly unbelted herself, like a child on their birthday, only her gift was a whole new place to explore and not some toy. Her small gun was already in her shoulder holster and covered by her favorite jacket. As the ships doors opened, Jade slipped a pair of sunglasses on to protect her eyes from any bright lights. Directly across from Rocinante was a giant billboard with a picture of two kids, a blond girl with pigtails and a brown haired boy. They are in a cart of a hover-coaster and all smiles. The boy wears a shirt that read I "heart" alliance. The billboard reads:

"COMING SOON: The Serenity Valley Theme Park and Resort. Ride the largest hover-coaster in the Verse - The Flight of the Angels. You too can be a brave Alliance pilot flying through the dangers of wartime Serenity Valley!"

",oh my."

"Taikong suoyou de xingqiu saijin wo de pigu!" Captain exclaims. Spinning on his heel, Wyatt calls down the hall loud enough so that his voice carries throughout the ship, "Ma! You got that old Browncoat regimental flag I can wear as a gorram cape?"

Jade would have laughed but she knew that he was being serious. She also was still staring at the sign is disbelief. Who would base a theme park on a war? And specifically on the planet where the losing side LIVES?

"Are we going to some costume party I don't know about?" Willow asked in a cold, sharp tone, catching Jade's attention.

"If I recall, we are here to ask for help in finding safe passage through Serenity Valley in order to bury our friend. We may have clearance to bury him there, but it's on this Morningstar's indulgence that we'll get any maps through the buried ordinance there, and you too look like you are about to spit on the man's meal ticket. That's presuming we can even get that far through town before you pick a fight or two. What's more important here? Thumbing your nose (or waving other digits) at the Alliance or doing Havelock right and respecting his last wish?"

Suddenly a familiar pain started in Jade's chest, forcing a raspy and unhealthy sounding cough out of her. She grimaced in between coughs, trying to fish her puffer out of her messenger bag and trying not to feel embarrassed as any eyes turned towards her. She brought it to her mouth, breathing in deeply (while still coughing) as she squeezed the trigger. The medicine worked almost immediately, pain fading and the coughs sounding less raspy. Jade grimaced again, before stepping onto the planet, hopping the fresh air might help with her still faint coughs.

(OOC: Jade's puffer last 24 hours, so she won't be having any more coughing fits until it wears off again. It does hurt when she has one though, so she just standing a little bit away from the ship trying to catch her breath)

The system was back online but that didn't mean Grace could relax. As soon as Angela's video was turned on, Grace raced off to see how much possible damaged the wedding planner could have done. A suit was missing but that was to be expected. Next Grace ran to the engine room, making sure that Asante hadn't left any surprises for her, The redhead wasn't staying still, running from room, eyes darting around for any possible problems along the path to the engine room.

Along the way, Cattie tried to stop her, something about blood work, but Grace was a little too busy so she just kept walking,

"Is that electrical panel loose?" asked Caite suddenly

"What? Where?" asked Grace freezing on the spot. She glanced around just as Caite stabbed her shoulder with the needle.

"OW!"

"I told you I needed to do the blood work. If you stopped moving around and actually relaxed, it wouldn't have hurt"

Grace grumbled but didn't run off until Catie pulled out the needle (she wasn't dumb enough to run with a needle in her arm), before racing back to the engine room. The engines were still running, easing some of her tension, until she spotted the panel door of the electrical panel was not closed properly. It had a bad latch. Grace was used to pulling it up and closing that she did not think to replace it, but she never left it open. Here we go, I knew she was going to pull somethingGrace looked closer; she found a small explosive with a timer set for 24 hours. Had it blown, it would have meant stopping to rewire the system. Grace was too angry too curse, her face went read as she grabbed her tools to try and disarm the small device.

You drugged my friends, you made me look like an idiot, and you THREATENED MY SHIP. This. means. WAR.

Still working away on the device, Grace hit the comm link before saying "Captain, I need you and Tess to meet me in the bridge. Asante left us some surprises and I need your help to find them all."

Jade didn't have much in the way of processions, only enough to fill her messenger bag and the small suitcase she often carried on her. She didn't spend much time on her room, only hanging a dream catcher by the door and made the bed comfortable with some sheets, blankets and a pillow. Her next move was to find every single little hiding spot in her room, trying to figure out which one was best. She finally found one loose grating just behind her bed, which was dark, dry and dusty. Perfect, dust meant it wasn't a well-known hiding spot and dry meant she could put what she wanted in there without fear of mold.

There were only two things that Jade carried on her that meant something to her. One was her Personal Assistant Digital Device, which carried her music, her books and her many pictures of her family and her late husband Arthur. The other was the only thing that she had left of Arthurs that hadn't been taken by the Alliance as ‘evidence,' safely stored in a New Tech security box that would only open with her DNA, handprint and her body heat (Arthur had always been rather paranoid, Jade was starting to understand why). She carefully put the box in behind the loose grate and shoved her bed against the grate, hiding it to the best of her ability. Now done, Jade left her room to go meet the rest of the crew

Baron Winter invited Wolf, Asher and Jade to be part of the repairs to the ship. He is doing more than just replacing parts; he was putting in a whole new engine system - the one that is going into the new series 4 Firefly. A bit smaller, with more power, Wolf, Asher and Jade were to learn about the engines and the new controls. The baron replaced the 2 Blue Sun 6V4-178-B31 Trace Compression Block with 36 RCS thrusters along with the Standard radian/accelerator core Drive with 4 Blue Sun EVT29-4000-A90 pulse-feedback generators with 48 RCS thrusters and an Enhanced graviton accelerator core drive which completely flew over Jade's head. While she may know some engineering, she knew the basics and this was not the basics.

"I think I would be more useful flying the ship, see what the controls are like than in here. Why don't I do a simple test flight, no hard burn or anything too fancy, that way I can see what the controls are like and you can see how the engine works in action?" Jade offered after spending some time with the two men in the engine room. Wolf struck her as the more silent type, so even though she wanted to ask hundreds of questions about how did the old engines compare to the new, what were the quirks of the ship were, why had the engines needed replacing, why Baron Winter had been the one to replace it, she kept her questions to a minimum.

Wolf agreed and Jade eagerly went to the bridge. For Jade, flying a new felt like trying on a new pair of wings, it was an extension of yourself that was different and you could only learn from experience. A textbook might tell you that a firefly and arrowhead fly differently, but until you flew both you really didn't know how truly different each were. Jade sat down in the chair, thumbed the comm link open, gripped the controls and asked "Ready?" to both herself and to Wolf in the engine room. When she got the all clear, Jade let Rocinante take flight.

The controls glided in her hands and Jade could almost feel the sensation of her wings moving in flight. The controls weren't too sensitive nor were they slow to respond, it almost felt like the ship already knew her expectations and was just playing along with her caution. The ship felt stronger than any other firefly she had flown, and it took every turn and increase of speed with ease. Jade would every once in a while ask Wolf how everything was going in the engine room but somehow she knew that the ship could handle whatever she could do. The wings felt strong and familiar but no need to run wild or race at high, like a work horse that had recovered from injury and was just waiting for it to prove it was still capable.

"They certainly gave you the right symbol," commented Jade when they landed. She gave the dash a gentle pat, feeling like it was somehow appropriate, before heading back to engine room to see how Wolf felt about the flight.

(Later on Jade got to experience the ship at hard burn and got to hear the sound of a galloping horse, she couldn't decide if this was her own imagination at work or just the universe making one of own kind of jokes)

Subject: Sorry I took so long, Exams are murder

Once upon a time Grace used to eat in the finest of restaurants and had the most talented of chefs to cook her dinners. Plates had been small, with each dish neat and beautiful, morsels already cut to bite size pieces so all one had to do was savor the food.

So one could only imagine how much childish glee Grace got from eating instant food and combining flavors that would make most chefs physically cringe in horror. Throughout the whole meal, Grace mostly ate everything out of her rice dish, taking large forkful that were by no means little ‘morsels'of food. The only food she wasn't eating whole was the steak which she kept cutting thinly (a habit from the war. Nothing tricks your stomach into thinking its full better than eating slowly. Also works as a way to check for ‘surprises' in the larger pieces of food). Only problem was that Angela kept swiping the slices when Grace wasn't looking, meaning Grace started spending a part of her meal defending it, rather than eating it.

However instead of feeling any annoyance, Grace felt unusual, content and sleepy. Like she was curled up on her bed in her room rather than at the table eating. When Lilianna slumping down in her chair, Grace just stared at her in dazed confusion, her brain not quite connecting the dots. Then when Catie dropped, that when Grace realized her own mistake. Drugged! She drugged the steaks! Gorram it! I should have known!

The two brothers jumped up to catch her but ended up crashing on the floor unconscious beside her. JC tried to move quickly away from the table, going to attack Asante, but he too could not keep from going under and fell to the floor. Grace clung hard to consciousness, her mind desperately doing math problems to try and stay awake. The value of pi is 3.141592653589793238462,

"Urp! Excuse me! Did anyone not want all of their,*yawn* steak? I'm still a *yawwwwwn* little hungry and ,." Angela managed to let go of her fork and knife before falling asleep. A warning rang in Grace's sleepy mind, but she was struggling to keep her thought process

,64338327950288419,716939937,5105820,974944,592,30,

Grace gripped the edges of the table, hoping the body's chemical response to pain would clear her head. Only in her drugged state, she either couldn't feel the pain or she couldn't grip the table hard enough to hurt.

Realizing she couldn't fight it, Grace used her ace card, her last trick. She slammed her arm down violently; making sure every button on her multiband was hit, to activate the override. Then the black blanket of sleep covered her, and Grace slumped, the last of her numbers counting her to sleep

Slowly Grace stirred awake and looked around blankly, confused as to why she was on the kitchen ground and not in her bed. Then she remembered Asante and jerked into alertness, and got an eyeful of her Captain that she really did not need to see. She shut her eyes quickly while rubbing her forehead.

"How long were we out?" she muttered. Grace pulled herself to her feet, now starting to feel the humiliation and anger that had been here when she realized the trick. Yeah, Grace you are a real genius, that was one of the oldest tricks in the book and you fell for it. Why not just give her your 108 character code next time?

"Oh crap, Angela!"

Grace snapped her eyes open to see Jon kneeling by a sleeping Angela, thankfully now wearing pants, wait, Angela asleep? Gorram it! She was going to wake up terrified if they didn't get her to her room. Jon scoped up Angela in his arms, her head lulled against his chest and JC stepped in to support her back. "Tess,Grace, we need you to help here."

First help Angela, then check ship for damage, and finally chew J.C out for letting the wedding planner out of the room

"This way Captain," explained Grace as she raced to Angela's room. That video was the best way to help Angela, and it wouldn't work without the override code. Grace held the door open for the two men and as soon as they were in, Grace turned the system on trying to find the file that Angela used. But as they approached the tiny storage room turned Angela's living quarters, JC's prosthetic arm spasmed and then failed dropping her backwards.

The shifting of weight of the falling body turned into a lightning speed move. His baggage specialist dropped to a handstand, back springing free of Jon's hold and pivoting into a defensive stance with her back to the wall. An intense cold stare sized up Jon and JC, "So many memories, " she rasped, " They can't all be mine...what the hell's going on? ,,Who the hell are you?"

Backing away and placing an arm across JC's chest to keep the PR man from stepping toward Angela, "Angela...you are safe,I'm Jon Brown, your Captain! You're part of my crew. There is a journal in your room,in your hand writing... that will confirm it. May I show it to you?"

Grace glanced away from the screen to help calm Angela. "Don't worry, Angela, this are people you can trust. The journal is actually in your bag but if you give me a second, I can show you a video you made for yourself."

Finally she was at the part where she could put in the override code; she started to glance at her multi-band when she heard Angela say "You're,Grace, right?"

Grace tried to smile reassuringly but it might have been a little strained, "Just a sec, Ange, I just need to put the code in." Grace looked at her watch function and froze.

The override code was her own personal algorithm that changed every five minutes based on what time it was.

In order to activate that, Grace had to press all the buttons of her multiband at once and in her drugged state, she had slammed her wrist down hard enough to break her multiband time

Grace had no idea how long they had been unconscious or what time it was.

"Umm, anyone got a watch on them?"

Jade hummed a soft tune to herself as she walked. Her eyes never stayed too long in one place as she looked around; admiring all that was around her. If she had more time, she would go exploring but she had some where to be and the shinnies would have to wait. Assuming that she ever came back (no, stay on target, you have a potential job, don't ruin your chances by going off to explore) but there was so much to look at (no, no, focus!)Trying to get her mind off looking around, she sped up and tried to remember what Sam had told her about his previous crew mates.

"Tell ya about the crew? Yeah, I reckon I c'n do that," Dash grinned at Jade from behind his glass of whiskey, "Ain't like ya got nothin' to worry 'bout from none of 'em, get me?" He took a slug of the liquor and the grin evaporated as his eyes skimmed the bar before returning to the woman across the table from him. Folk like you an me cant afford ta walk inta nothin blind, though, can we?

Just as she was about to worry that she had gotten the wrong direction, Jade spotted the meeting place and smiled in relief. Now the only question was to figure out whom Mr. Sung and Ms. Takahara was and give them Mr. Dashs letter, as there were still some of the other pilot candidates standing around. HmmmStart with Mr. Sung, how had Mr. Dash described him?

The pilots jaw tightened as he stared into his glass and chewed on his thoughts for a minute and, when he looked up, again, the grin had returned, this time with a rather nostalgic turn to it. Wyatt, he said, then, Good ol Wyungsung heh hell be Rocinantes capn an most like th best friend as I ever had in th Verse. Id be the jia huo as tends ta run off at th mouth where Capn Sungd be more like ta stare a hole through yer gorram brainpan as waste a word er two. That aint ta say he dont talk, get me? He jus don tend ta suck as much atmo when he does talk as might a more verbose fella. Thatd be Wyatt all round Quiet Dead calm Kinda like th deep Black, yknow? Intense-like. Talks like that walks like that Hell, th man even ruttin flies like that. Just like th Black, though, tha quiet an calm cn turn inta a storm o goh suh real gorram quick.

Jade translate that in her head to Mr. Sung was the serious and quiet typethough that would described a couple of different men in the room. Okay, new strategy, Mr. Dash had described Ms. Takahara as incredible beautiful and the one who did all the talking, so lets assume that the two were standing near each otherAha! Jade spotted a serious man with an very pretty woman talking to each other, looking somewhat frustrated. Jade eagerly approached them; mentally hoping she wasnt budding in line, but hey no one else was talking to them so she was going to make her move.

Excuse me, would you two happen to be Captain Sung and Ms. Takahara?

(OOC: Assuming they give her a confirmation)

Howdy! My name is Jade Storm, its a pleasure to meetcha she said with a smile and offered her hand to shake. (If someone takes her hand, Jade will happily shake their hand. If they both ignore her, she will put her hand down without seeming fazed)

I heard you were looking for a pilot so I was hoping to apply! I have my resume right here so you can see it, she said carefully pulling her resume out of her messenger bag and handing it over. She waited a few minutes for them to read, before carefully whispering, I also have something else for you, but you will want to read it somewhere private. Can we go somewhere else?

Once they were out of ear range and in a separate room, Jade handed over the letter that Mr. Dash had given her and waited. Once they were done reading, Jade dug out a lighter and offered it to them with a simple explanation of Ya might want this.

Grace had followed behind everyone as they carried Asante back to her room, hoping no one would notice her locking the wedding planner in her room while she 'napped.' However that plan had been foiled when J.C went into Asante's room and stayed in there, most likely to wait until she awoke. Mentally wondering if he had done that on purpose, Grace clicked her tongue in annoyance as she left to go find something to do. The engines were fine so she locked up the engine room (and ignored any puppy eyes from a certain passenger) and went to the workout room to check that J.C hadn't accidentally broken any of the machines in there. Pleased that everything was working, Grace decided to use the treadmill for a while.

After some time had passed, Catie found her in there, apparently needing Grace's help with dinner.

"Ah Grace, there you are! Lilanna and I were about to make dinner."

"Okay...?"

"Since we are having steaks, I was thinking of grilling them."

"But we don't-oh right. Hold on, let me go find some sterno cans."

"Wha-? Sterno cans?"

Once, Grace had found where she had put them, she constructed a simple grill for the two cooks with as many sterno cans as she could find.

"This is certainly the most...unusual grill I have ever used"

"It will do the job" assured Grace mentally adding I think. It was not often that she had to make grills... Next Grace worked on the air filters, mostly due to a lack of desire for smoke to fill the ship. She ended up hanging around the kitchen, simply because she wanted to stay near if her simple grill started acting funny, but Catie roped her into helping with some of the cooking.

"If you have nothing else to do, we could use your help."

"I can't really help, I will burn anything you give me."

"That's fine, you can wash the rice than."

Any protests that Grace made was ignored by Catie and she was handed a bowl of rice. She tried to made sure she didn't touch anything involving heat (she wasn't joking about burning things, she really can't cook) so Grave ended up washing the rice, peas and doing other basic aspects of the cooking. Grace actually enjoyed it more than she had expected to (but she was not going to admit that to Catie or Lilanna, no way).

Day Two of Journey, Destiny's Galley, 5:30 pm ST

Grace helped set the table and as soon as dinner was served, she purposely sat between Tess and Angela (Grace had no desire to repeat what had happened at breakfast) and dug in. The food was delicious and soon enough conversations were going. Since the plan had already been shared with the guests, Grace really didn't know what to talk about so she mostly just listened, enjoying a rare moment of things NOT going wrong.

Grace went over to the controls and activated the camera monitor and synced it to the Galley. She did that just in time to see Stephanie slip a “mickie” of something into Asante and watch her fall to the floor.

“Whoa.” Tess said with a whistle, “Remind me not to cross the Doc.”

Grace laughed before turning to Jon and saying with childish glee “Seriously, give her a ring already.”

After J.C put in his two cent about the singer, Grace continued on with her list of info. ”As to Asante Okoro – according to records she did fight with the independence side but her division is listed as 101st. She went very quiet after the war and then started working as a Damage Control Specialist, Freelance for Blue Sun.”

Done with her list, Grace looked back at the captain and asking “So what the plan, Captain?”

Step back Jon crossed he arms, “Well then the plan is simple. We get Lillianna on the line….stop the wedding without looking like we stopped the wedding and then get off the liner alive.”

“Ahh, a genius idea, I wish I had thought of that one.” commented Grace in a very dry tone. Tess grabbed Jon’s empty mug and flung it at him, “Ghuh-Ghuh, you’d better have a better plan than that!”

Jon blocked the projectile, “What? …..So now you want details? …..Ok let think about this.”

“Tess and Catie, you get Lillianna to send a message that she wants to thank us for getting her there safely and add you two and me to the guest list, which should get us out of the landing bay without suspicion”

“Counter-argument, if we need to run, we need Tess here. Why not send Angela instead? That way if we need any muscle, Angela’s got our back.” countered Grace

“I sort of like Grace’s idea and we can try to have Steph get use of their sick bay to check out an issue with JC’s arm. Once you’re on board she can do a little show and tell then release you from care. Try to have them contact Annie that can add credit to your story and maybe she can help some way. After that if you can hang with the brothers, try to get them to snatch Daniel first and stow him back here. Lock him up to make it look good. With him safe see if you can find where the Colt is.”

“Let’s ask the brother first about the details of how they were supposed to dispose of Daniel. It will be suspicious if they were supposed to stuff him out the air lock and now they want to move him to our ship” Grace suggested to J.C

“Grace...you can stay with the ship… try to figure a way around the grav locks….maybe it you can find an open data port in the bay or wander around all stealthy like,….maybe that Annie person could you around the boat.”

“Thankfully, I have already thought of that. I have a little bug system that I made to hack into closed systems. All I need is someone to plug a little deceive into a wi0fi receiver and I am in. Plugging it in Annie’s private room, will make sure no one unplugs me while I am in” said Grace with a small smirk.

Jon spoke, just sort of thinking out loud, “If somehow Steele could be made to look bad in front of the guests…he does seem to have an issue with women…then that could let Lillianna stop the wedding without the Baron losing face. The Baron and Steele gotta do something stupid…and…well maybe we can help.”

“As for Asente…I can’t really trust her. She out for herself and we are means to an end. Her story about disgruntled Browncoats would only make sense to Alliance folk cause they believe anything bad about the Rim. The rim folk love Lillianna as much as they dislike Steele and would have joined the hunt to find her. Finding me here didn’t give her time to change the story with her people. So now we need to her to need us to keep’r from turning against us.”

Tess looked to Jon,“How about helping her steal Steele yacht? It should have a lot of his collections for showing off, worth a pile credits…..We let her folks on board and then they make off with it after Grace figures out the grav clamps.”

Jon looked at her for a second, “I like the idea of the yacht, but we ain’t letting them on board…too much chance she may try to go with her first plan…….. I’d bet she’s covered them by having them hauling some last minute supplies. That way they got a reason to in the area and if she’d snatched Lillianna there would have been two ships to find making the search harder….no we’ll tell her about the yacht and that Grace will get her the codes to release it……….JC, if it turns out the Colt is on the yacht let the brothers go after it, you try to stay off out of it so you don’t get linked to the boat going missing and really don’t want have to go pull them away from Asente’s folks.”

“Why not let the brother’s steal the yacht instead of Asante?” asked Grace. Grace frowned while crossing her arms as the thought began to pop into her heads. “We know that the brothers were hired by the Badger, and Badger was hired by the Baron. A great way to turn them against each other is to make them look like they are trying to steal from each other. So if someone was hired by the Baron to steal Templeton’s ship and we make it look like someone that Templeton either knows or has hired steals something from the Baron, the two might turn against each other. From there, it’s just a matter of playing our cards right”

Asante and Blue Sun, yes. Her Dad? No. Grace only talks about her father to Tess and only mention him if it's the only way to possibly get out of a situation. The last thing Grace would want is someone thinking about handing her back to her father either for a favor or money reward.

My idea would be to contact this ship following us and see if they want to back us up if we promise them the goodies they want. Convince them to try and steal Templeton's private ship (with his gun collection) and hold it hostage for the mining rights. Then try and sell the story to Templeton that the ship stealers actually work for the Baron.

Grace felt the familiar sense of calm in her as her fingers dance across the keyboard. Knowledge was power and Grace felt the most at ease in front of the cortex where knowledge was abundant. The info on the crew ship was easy but Asante was only a tad harder. As the words spilled across the cortex screen, Grace’s eyes scanned them, not a drop of surprise in her but a little bit of relief. The wedding planner hadn’t been lying about her allegiance and being part of the 101 might be more of an asset than a complication, as it meant Asante could pull her own weight if things went south. Then Grace felt a tight feeling in her gut when she saw the words ‘Asante Okono – Damage Control Specialist, Freelance for Blue Sun’ Blue Sun. Father.

Someone press the communication link and Grace heard Tess ask “Grace? You there?”

“Yeah, Quing Ting, I’m here. What’s up?” called Grace

“I can’t find Go Sa with microwaves. That sounds really high techy for a bunch of old boys with a grudge. I’m being to think maybe some real money with some real R&D – like Blue Sun.”

“Good guess there.” She replied as her eyes looked again at her screen. The defence net on her computer detected a trace being attempted on her search, and Grace diverted it to the Alliance Sanitation mainframe with the same annoyance as a person shooing away an irritating bug. She’d ended her search and erased her presence from the records. She picked up the brochure and got up to meet Tess outside. As they walked to the meeting room, Grace sighed heavily getting Tess attention.

“Something on your mind?”

“Asante may or may of not have worked with my family.”

“Wha-?”

“My father was a very important figure of the Blue Sun Company. He wasn’t involved with every aspect of it but…I don’t know if Asante ever met him or worked with him.”

“Ta Ma Duh, Grace. Do you have any more surprises in your story?”

Grace laughed and replied “More than you might than expect...I shouldn’t have gone to breakfast, nor should I have drawn attention to myself. For all I know, Asante knows who I am and as soon as we leave her alone, she will contact him. Then he will know where I am, and he will find me and drag me back and…and…I will be-“

Grace cut herself off when Tess suddenly hugged her, saying a gentle “Bi Jweh, Ni Buhn Duhn” Grace hugged Tess back and pushed down her feelings of panic. She told herself that Tess was right; she was being a paranoid idiot and got herself under control again. The two friends let go and Grace grinned to let Tess know she was okay.

“Feel better?”

“I still want to tie up Asante and lock her up in the brig.”

Tess laughed before replying “You always want to tie passengers up and lock them in the brig that we don’t have.”

“It would save on the expense of luxuries,” offered Grace with a mischievous smirk before thumbing the comm link open, “If all members of the crew could come to the gallery, I got the info we need. And I mean crew only, guests can stay where they are and stay away from the gallery.”

(OOC: I am going to assume the guests are still going to show up either due to ignoring Grace’s instructions or someone else telling them to ignore the twitchy mechanic)

Grace groaned under her breath, muttering “I had a reason for wanting to talk without the guests” but still waited for everyone to show up before starting her debrief.

“Alright so the cruise ships info was easy to find but that is going to be the only easy part. While there are multiple entrances, some being the more impractical than others, we are going to have to go to this one,” Grace pointed to the Docking on the map, “since we have to deliver Lilianna and the Baron will be waiting for us there. At that point, it will be up to us to come up with excuses why we want to get on the ship so we can help Juliet over there.”

(OOC: I assume someone wants an example or explanation of why we need to be on the ship)

“Staying on the ship will be of little use for us. Ever since a group of space pirates attacked the Star of Sihnon to steal some sort of violin, security has been beefed up on all cruise ships. Ships have to dock via airlocks that are screened for all weapons, explosives and other dangerous items. Security has a presence at all air locks. Ships are locked on to cruise liners by grav clamps and will not be released without permission. Security systems on cruise liners are now locked systems and do not access the cortex so I can’t hack it through the cortex. It would be better for us to get on the ship with some sort excuse that the Baron isn’t going to find suspicious, like Stephanie wanting to bring a sick patient to the Infirmary or something similar.”

Grace passed around the brochure as she stated “If anyone has got a good excuse why they should go on the ship or if any names look familiar among the passengers, now is the time to be mentioning it.

Subject: Post will be up soon

Sorry guys, I am working on the post now just a lot of details to sort out.

I will have Grace print some stuff out , call the crew together (no guests allowed and we can discuss ideas. The way I see it is in order to get on the crew ship we need to have excuses as to why we want to go on.

Example being we can get at least two people being on if we have Lilanna kick up a fuss about wanting at least some friends being at the wedding and she made some friends with members of the crew.

Just an idea and Grace will also suggest some other ideas.

Grace waited until everyone was done before asking, “So any more revelations?”

(OOC assuming there is none)

“Alright then, I am going to go find a map to this cruise liner because I believe we are going to need one. Should I look for anything else?” she asked

(OOC: Once everyone is done)

“I’ll be back in an hour, meet you here.” said Grace. She quickly left before any more awkwardness could occur.

Subject: Why yes, I do think he is that dangerous

Baron is a very rich man who give his own daughter away just for some land rights. I doubt he would lose any sleep over killing us to keep us quiet or to simply not have to pay us. His plan to potential kill us all might explain why we are getting paid after we deliver Lilanna, he doesn't want to give us any money.

The only problem with Baron getting the land is that Asante wants that lamd too. If we don't give her the land, she won't help or worse, sell us out for the land.
