Topic: The Disappearing Act of Dragonblood
Subject: The Disappearing Act of Dragonblood

Hey folks, I just wanted to let everyone know why I've been so scarce lately. I have indeed been missing all of you and, of course, the game itself but I've had good reason to be gone. In September I moved into a new apartment and lost all my internet, for a while I struggled to keep up with games but as my newest project, what I'm coming to, took over much of my time it became harder and harder and soon I was almost never around internet and didn't have an opportunity to inform those games that I was involved in that I wouldn't be playing anymore. I'm sorry for giving no notice of my absence and I hope it wasn't rough on anyone.

What I've been working on of late is a book of poetry which is finally completed. I still have to struggle with whether I should self-publish or attempt to get it done properly but it feels like a great accomplishment to be done, perhaps the greatest of my life up to this point. It's been an extremely rewarding struggle, if time consuming. It's 73 poems and about 115 pages long, nothing monumental but I nice little compilation of my work. Without a doubt, the gaming I did here at the inn helped me grow as a writer. Even if what I work on is very different from the writing I've done here in content, I owe some of my skill to this site and I thank you all for helping me develop and grow!

I mean mostly to apologize for disappearing and to let you know where I've gone, perhaps sometime there will be an opportunity to get my book out to those of you who are interested in reading, I would love to hear what you think about it! I hope the gaming is going well and I miss you all!

Topic: Smuggler's Moon Q&A
Subject: Meet Marlow and Alistair Stone

Okay we got two gentlemen that need introducing here. I had a friend who was supposed to be joining us to play Alistair but I'm not sure if he has time so I'll describe him and if said friend is still interested in getting on board (no pun intended) I'm sure that won't be a problem.

First, your doctor.

Name: Marlow Stone

Age: Late Twenties

Appearance: Winding his way from a jungle tribe somewhere in Southern Hexworth, he has inheritted the unique appearance of his people. He is tall, muscular, black man. Dreadlocks hang about his shoulders freely, framing a face that is kind, insightful and introverted. His dark eyes, seem to run deep down into the depths of a soul of both pain and benevolence. Rarely does his smile flash across his face but when it does, it starts with brilliant gleam in the eyes and spreads to a face transformed by genuine joy. He is broad-shouldered and built leanly, scars and marks are mapped out over the muscle-riddled body. His enormous hands when clenched seem like the ends of maces, knuckles spike out and speak of their many acquaintances with men's faces. But, when spread out, these fists became hands delicate and nimble with slender fingers. From afar Marlow may appear as any other warrior who has tossed his braun into battle and emerged with the muscles and the marks to show it, but on closer inspection there is an intelligence and gentleness.

Distinguishing Marks: Where his neck meets his back, the tattoo of a skull with darts flashing out of it like the rays of the sun has been etched into his skin in bold white. Aside from this, he marks are only the natural scars of battle and life in the wilderness, some whisper secrets more intriguing but few other than Alistair know their stories.

Attire: The garb Marlow clothes himself in is simple and flexible. Brown cotton slacks, cut off below the knee and rolled neatly up above it hang around his waste. From his shoulders beige and tan shirts hang, the sleeves hang just past his elbows but are often rolled up so he can engage in the average dirty work of deck swab - despite being the ship's doctor when no one is facing ailment he heads out and helps wherever a hand is needed. The shirt is cut midway down his chest and hangs open with loose cotton strings to tie it up tighter. His feet are often found in sandals with leather straps tightly secured around from the heel to the toe. In cold weather he can be seen with the same slacks that haven't been cut into shorts, tucked into tall leather boots and a formidable jacket made from some heavy fur of a wild cat Marlow cut down himself. Around his forearms at all times are hard leather bracers that wrap up around his hand, allowing his fingers to poke out freely. They seem inconsequential, if odd, until witnessed in use. When Marlow presses the inside of his wrists together blades spring out from the bracers at the back of his hand, offering him punching daggers to fight with, for those who have seen them in use it is a brutal, dazzling spectacle. With devastating speed and force the steel flashes to all places at once parrying, jabbing, slashing and feinting, originally a simple bare-knuckle boxer, the addition of the daggers turned his already intimidating skill into a terrifying weapon.

Possessions: Marlow's a simple man, he has some small books, a journal, his clothes and the daggers, aside from these possessions to his name he also has amassed a decent collection of medical supplies and utensils for the Moon over the time that he's sailed with them and now is very capable of dealing with most illnesses and injuries of any level of seriousness.

Bio: What the crew knows of Marlow and Alistair, for they come hand in hand, is very little. It is known that the two men emerged from some tribe of unfamiliar accents and foreign rituals, buried somewhere in a small tropical domain in Hexworth. Marlow clearly has a fine blend of tribal remedies and medical techniques that he's sorted out himself to most effectively treat people. In fact, often times people are left astounded at how rapidly he is capable of curing his patients. It is obvious he went to school somewhere, though he's never been clear even of that. What is known is that one day in Freeport Marlow came to Jericho with Alistair, they were hooded and anxious to escape the city out onto the high seas. He offered his skill as a medic, Alistair promising to work hard and keep out of peoples way. Whether this was enough for Jericho or he recognized both a goodness and a desperation that he'd seen in other places before, perhaps even in a mirror on occassion, only the Captain can tell.

Darn, that's all I have time to write right now but there will be more soon, I promise!!!

My deepest apologies for not getting a post up yet everybody, there's just more and more to catch up with each day and since I've started working life's gotten quite a bit more hectic. Anyways, my new plan is to set aside the bio for now and just post a short character description for everyone so I can more properly get into the meat of the game, I just want to start posting with y'all! Okay more reading to do...

Subject: Look at the activity!

Holy moly things are moving. I just moved in to my new place and have been working full-time with no Internet in the apartment just yet so forgive me if I've been a wee bit absent lately. Soon enough you will all be well enough acquainted with the ships doctor, for now I suppose he remains shrouded in mystery. Plus with y'all keeping me reading all the time (and ogling over your drawings Eol) I never have time to write. Don't worry I forgive you all because I'm loving all the amazing work that's going into this game. Okay now back to catching up!

Just took a peek at the game thread and was looking over our cast of characters, well I must say, i predict some splendid gaming coming our way! And in proper pirate fashion we will have, if I'm not mistaken, thirteen players. Feeling good about this one guys, let's get it on the road... Or the sea as it were!

Yep I like the sounds of steel's figurehead - could perhaps even look like she was hoping to catch the moon, as though she's keeping an eye on the moon just as the moon keeps an eye on us. Good stuff steel!

Oh and thanks for the read chessic, I like the look of him, he'll be a fun one to rp with. That reminds me, I gotta write mine... Hrrmm alright, off to get started on that.

Alrighty just finished getting caught up in the game thread and the Q&A thread. Both were extremely enjoyable reads, so thanks for that. I can't wait to begin contributing to it. I'm still very up in the air when it comes to my concept but perhaps I'll fire a few ideas your way Eol and see if we can't cook up something fun? Can't wait to get this game going!

Topic: Loaded Dice #78: Can't PLease Some People
Subject: Nice.

Classic tension here between player and character. As a group they might know that it's a trap and they should be more cautious but, when it comes down to it, you gotta play your character even if they are a brash, foolhardy hero type that gets the whole gang into trouble, I mean that's why D&D, ultimately, is so much fun for the players and the DM! Anyway, fun strip, I'm excited to see where the adventure takes them.

I kind of assume that there isn't a thread for the new loaded dice simply because our dear webmaster is MIA for this week (I think?). Whatever the case, I must say that this new plot, though not far into it yet, has kept me interested and intrigued and I can totally relate to it on both player and DM level. Thanks for the great work guys, you're keeping me completely engaged and I can't wait for the next update!

Let me be the first to agree with Grugg and say any combination of Olan and Dre would be awesome. So even if you don't become a dj is there anyway RDInn could release a mixtape of Olan reading Audalis information over the beats from 2001?

Subject: Hehe

Kushikime is mine.

I notice many of our inn mates names start with B.

Also, is this a secret plan to find out all our real names? If so I hope you plan on sending us lovely letters, or hunting us down and giving us hugs... or at least friending us on facebook.

Also, after searching mine on urban dictionary I was redirected to this:

ninja assassin
(v.) to excessively and wildly dismember a person's body using Asian weaponry (gallons of blood are typically lost from the victim's body when being ninja assassined)

eg.
Witness 1: Dude you completely ninja assassined that guy!
Assassin: Yeah I'm going cut his limbs off too.
Witness 2: Holy shit! There's blood everywhere!

I finally have free time again (hurray!) and shall begin working on my character. I've been building a bard for the last week or two slowly but it seems Skye is inclined towards the same thing. I really like my concept and the character I've developed but I'll keep thinking and perhaps I can tweak it into a different class, assuming you don't want two bards.
