Topic: Flesh & Blood - A Night City Adventure Subject: Carrying on
Once again, he was relegated to the center of the group. He knows he is neither capable enough to lead up the front or to be the rear guard. He supposed the center suits him to only be brought out when they required his skill sets. Truly, he did not care so long as they got the job finished, he got paid, and became that much closer to taking out that traitorous bitch.
"Okay, Chica," Echo whispers to Blossom,"now it's your show. What do you need from us besides an escort to the security room?"
"It'd be nice if the map extended to inside the building, but we'll have to make due," Blossom responds as she adjusts her sunglasses. "You've been a prep school girl before, right? Where would the security office be?"
As the now nomad gave a quick run down of where of where the office would be, Fixer could only wander at why one would give up such a life. To have one's every need met without lifting a finger. He had to admit to himself if nobody else the envy that swelled within him. The people that attended these academies wanted for nothing; did not have to struggle from day to day. They did not have to worry about a stray bullet taking themselves or somebody they cared for. And in the end, they left here groomed for a life of success in an environment of luxury.
"That way, then," Bloodbank points down the hallway towards the t-section.
The group moved out with Echo in the lead and Vegas in the rear. The five runners stuck close to the walls, not wanting to draw attention to themselves. At the t-section, Echo took a moment to glance in each direction before taking the right. Fixer could hear the squeaking of wet footwear on the smooth tile, the creaking of leathers, and even the jingling of buckles. With his enhanced hearing not picking up any other noises at the moment - the admin building eerily quiet - he doubted that anybody else was present.
The main office jumped out at the group as they rounded a corner. The hall leading up to it is about twenty meters long and eight meters wide. It is encased in glass with wood chair rails as accents. There are holo emitters for a marquee above the office. Twin oak doors lead to what Fixer supposes is the outside, About six meters high and two abreast. Windows over the doors let in a soft spill of exterior light from the parking lot and roundabout drive illumination, but the interior of the of the office appears dark and empty.
Bloodbank's whispers reach his ears, "There's bound to be people on duty in the security office."
"Well," Blossom spoke up," here we are, now what's the plan."
"Fixer is well able to unlock those doors to the admin ofice," Vegas put him in the spotlight once more. Without even seeing the device, he had no way to know if he was capable of it. It was not that he was inconfident in his abilities, but that he was thinking of it in a realistic manner. "My question is who can disable those security cameras?" The Frank Sinatra lookalike paused momentarily before continuing his input the the huddled group, "Any security cameras are probably wired to detect abnormal traffic in the hallways, whether it is lit up or shrouded in darkness."
Blossom revealed her wrist keyboard and began typing. A moment passed before the netrunner looked up and rolled the sucker stem to the opposite side of her mouth. "Give me ten seconds..... and there we go," she punched another command into her keyboard and then rectracted it into her bracer. "It's on a loop. We should be covered."
Creeping into the main hall, the party advanced on the glass doors to the administrative office. Bloodbank moved to the back as everyone else crowded around the door to leave Fixer and Blossom nearest to the entrance. To their left, the monstrous oak doors leading out the front of the admin building to the semi-circular drive arch ominously overhead and the blinking green light on the bottom of the camera flashes down over their heads.
"Aight, let's see what we've got here," Fixer spoke to himself. The tech approached the lock preventing his group from entering the admin office. (*note: falling asleep at monitor, will finish later)

sorry.... due to incident at work, 5 out of the 12 people we had doing my job got suspended.... nearly eighty hours in last 6 days. Not much more time than to go home, get some wink and get back in. We've worked out a schedule for this next week where overtime will be split up.

Topic: Flesh & Blood - A Night City Adventure Subject: Have some faith
Fixer had focused himself on the door in front of him. This current needed skill set was one he learned because he had had to. Not all jobs were clean like this one was supposed to be. Snatch and grab type heist jobs had kept him fed and hiss bills paid more than once. Not glory work, but it was what it was. The techscanner in Rider's bracer ran through its program and showed the door clean of any erroneous alarms. With the sweep being clean, the techie noted the key card lock and retried his cardscanner from where it was stored in his pack.
The device is small, not much bigger than his cred chip or a credit card. Fixer placed the diminutive device next to the doors card reader and activated the screen. Numbers, letters, and various symbols rotated through the 250 placeholders. If Fixer put his mind to it, he could come up with the number of possible combinations. 50 different characters with 250 different placeholders have trillions of different combinations; not something anybody could reasonably go through with only manual input. The grayish green characters slowly locked into place one by one. He trusted to others to cover his rear while he did his job here, his attention completely focused on the task at hand.
Cold seeped into his hands while Fixer worked on the lick. A numbing cold. Why did he not have gloves? Because he was not someone who normally trudged through the trenchwork. He did not do the physical part of runs. His firearm - Just for show though he would not admit it to those he was running with. Here he was though, and he was making something if a show of it so far, even if it perhaps not what they had brought him along for.
Fixer felt a body push up against his backside from where he was working. "Patrol coming—help him get us in if you can. We don't have any time to lose." Fixer could pick out Who's voice with his engaged hearing.
"Have just little bit of faith if you would," Fixer spoke back as the carddecryoter was nearly finished with its job. "I can hear you just fine myself."
The door makes a soft click and jerks inward a hair. "it is done," he states matter of factly a single swift movement tucks the card decrypter in the inside pocket of his jacket. His near numbs hands gripped the pistol grip of his Uzi and Fixer moved through the door to survey the initial bit of interior of the building.

It is up. Fixer will take a look at the door, attempt to open it after a quick scan for alarms. No use opening the door if it is just going to trigger alarms. If it is locked, he will immediately pull out whatever piece of equipment needed to get him into it. Codescanner, cardscanner or just good ole B&E tools for a mechanical lock.

Topic: Flesh & Blood - A Night City Adventure Subject: Door.
A bead of sweat ran down the runner's forehead as the high pitch of the saw finished making it's way through the final bit of the last bar that barricaded the group's way. The instrument's high pitch ended as it retracted back into the bracer. Fixer quickly made his way back down the ladder to garner what kind of plan they had formed.
"So, patrols about. They've got canines," Fixer spoke directly to the point. Though they did not seem to be attentive much to their patrols, they could still prove to be dangerous.
Echo and Blossom are the first two up and ladder and out of the sewer. Plan was for the netrunner to upload a virus to disable part of the security system without making it seem disabled. He did not understand the particular specifics of it, but that did not worry him much. If they could all get past the security systems without drawing attention to themselves then all the better.
Painstaking moments passed by as Fixer waited at the bottom of the ladder waiting for the duo of women to be done with their task. Seemed like an eternity as he relied on somebody else to do their task. A brief shout from Vegas signaled to those in the sewer that he was taking off at the signal that the two women were finished. The medic was next and followed shortly by Fixer himself. Ghlahn was left behind in the sewers for overwatch - their guardian angel.
The hood of his jacket was up, his mask in front of his face to filter out the air's pollutants. Fixer's gauntlet's, forearm bracers, and upper arm bracers were all activated at this point. He knew this was getting into dangerous territory. Rain pelted down on the techie and ran off of his clothing. His boots splashed down into the rain soaked ground as he darted across the open ground to where the rest of the group rested.
"That door will get us inside," Blossom points towards the door at the back of the admin building that Echo had seen and without hesitation, the group rushes towards it.
"Let me have a look at it, I can get us in it," Fixer spoke up and moved to the front of the group in an assumption that the door would be locked.

Fixer could hear the others talking but did not pay them much mind. His attention was focused on the open yard in front of him. With a whine, his minisaw cut through another of the bars; it fell into the sewer water beneath him with a dull thunk. A quick mental command shut the saw off as he peered out into the school grounds.
Fixer's eyes were drawn to the beams of light as the appeared from around the edge of one of the buildings. Shortly after, a two man patrol appeared with the company of a dog. The tech remained nearly still, his only movement was his hand reaching for the grip of his uzi. Never could be too cautious. Luck was with the small group though as the guards did not seem interested in giving too much attention into their rounds.
It was not much time before the patrol disappeared between a set of buildings. Fixer gave it a half a minute or so before starting up his saw once again and going in on the third bar.

Okay. If Vegas is to move and allow Fixer up to the top of the ladder, he will examine it for any signs of hardwired security. Also will use techscanner to sweep for anything he may not see before going at it with his saw.

Topic: Flesh & Blood - A Night City Adventure Subject: A way forward.
Fixer did not have to wait long before his ears picked up a twin set of reports from what he could only assume was the Nomad's rifle. A short silence fell upon him aside from the normal sounds of the high city mixed with that of the thunderstorms before a second pair of reports rang out. Ghlahn was most definitely at work, and with any luck, the shots of his rifle would be mistaken for the peals of thunder. It was not much longer before Ghlahn was cambering back around the corner with an ease that spoke much about either his level of fitness or level of cyberware he was fitted with.
"Let's go, the others are waiting," were the only spoken words from Ghlahn as he hit the fire escape and started at would be a run on flat ground down the ladders.
Though Fixer was unable to see the man's handiwork from his point of view, the techie knew instantly that he did not need to ask the question - Ghlahn had performed his job efficiently enough for the task at hand, perhaps better. Anybody that had suffered injuries, or worse, wound not be on his conscience. Night City was not a place for mercy, something that Fixer had learned the hard way.
Rain water made the walkways and ladders descending down a bit slick, though it was easier than the trip up. A quick pause and a cursory glance told Fixer that there is nothing he needs to be concerned with once he hit the alleyway. Hard soled boots made resounding thuds muffled by the falling rain and the occasional splash of a puddle. Ghlahn could have easily outpaced Fixer but chose instead not to leave the techie behind. Traffic was thinned out a bit from the sniper's work. The rest of their group ran from the front of the security door store to the center of the road as the last of the traffic passed by.
"Go!" Vegas ordered after the last vehicle passed and left the street open to them. Fixer did not much care that the man had become a de facto little commander for the group. He had noticed the man's disposition back at the diner, and the others had just kind of followed suit after that.
Bloodbank, Echo, and Vegas provided protection for the petite netrunner as the bracer on her wrist responded to her mental commands and provided her with the necessary strength to move the heavy manhole cover to the side. The woman's body went limp as her consciousness left it. Fixer had never had an interest in what some would describe as an alternate reality, but he seen netrunners in action before.
After what was only a short time to the group surrounding her, Blossom's body sprung back up into activity, "The laser grid has been deactivated." Fixer could hear her exclaim as him and Ghlahn were closing in the final distance.
"...so I'm guessing there's sh*t." Fixer caught the tail end of the conversation as he clambered up to the group.
"All right, I'm first down. Ghlahn," the pair splashes up just in time to receive instruction. "You've got our six," Vegas states.
Vegas holstered his fancied up weapon before hopping down into the sewers. Fixer noted the light from the hole as the man flipped on his flashlight and cried back up the opening, "Clear."
Blossom and Bloodbank were next down into the sewers, Fixer's lip curling up into a slight smile as their own beams of light came on into activity. He noticed the scent coming up from the manhole and pulled his mask into place before jumping down. As he passed into the dim light, his optics adjusted and before him was a field of shades of gray and blue that gave detail to the world around him. Glorious.
The smell that hit the techie made him choke him on the air for a moment before he could get used to it. Fixer did not want to known how bad it would have been without his breathing mask to filter out the worst of it.
Echo and then Ghlahn follow him down, one more flashlight popping on between the two. He glanced back and noticed that the nomad was peering around as if the world was clear to him with no need of light. 'Optic enhancements,' he knew near immediately though not quite how good.
"All right, doll," Vegas says with an edge to his voice while wishing his partner was there to help watch his back. "Which way?"
Having already activated her optic view screen vision of the sewer tunnel map, Blossom rolls the sucker in her mouth and points quietly to the left. Without further adieu, the team pushes through the thick air and down the length of the tube.
Three additional times, Blossom gives them directions before they arrive at another access ladder with a steady stream of water pouring down it. Above, approximately six meters, the waterfall cascades over the edge of a ledge from which some yellowish light penetrates the darkness.
"Wait here," Vegas orders, turning off his flashlight and dropping it back into his overcoat pocket. Holstering his weapon, the dapper solo frowns at the falling water and then steels himself for the wet climb up the ladder.
Fixer noted Vegas's hesitation as he reached the top of the ladder and could make out the grate. His mental commands moved to the bracer on his right forearm as his left hand moved unzip the zipper all the way to his elbow. A small saw sprang out and began a lazily spin as it was not yet needed to cut into anything. The small whine was its own distinct noise, but perhaps the sound of the storm would dampen it out.
"Let me up, I can check to see if it is hardwired for security, and cut through it if not," Fixer spoke up in a firm tone for maybe the first time. This was one problem he could get them through.

Writing up a prose right now. Dunno how far I will get after a 14 hr work day. Will have final version up by Saturday some time. My one day off in two weeks. In the end, basicly Fixer jumping forward with micros away in his tech bracers to start sawing through the bars with the hopes that the storm will help cover up the noise.

Would it be able to cut through those bars? Or would my microsaw be faster? Grenade would be fastest but make too much noise.

Topic: Flesh & Blood - A Night City Adventure Subject: Here
Fixer could only watch on as Ghlahn tumbled over the railing and continued along the thin ledge and around the corner. Following the man would be difficult for Fixer but not impossible with a good deal of luck. The bit of wind and wet, slippery handhold turned him off of the idea though. Even with his grappling lin e as an anchor, nothing said that the material of the building would even hold up and keep Fixer from falling, most likely plummeting to what could be his death. This was not his area of expertise. He hated be a liability and not able to show his worth on a job. So far, he was doing a bang up job. He turNed his eyes to the streets around him and kept peering in the windows. He would have to keep over watch from here.

Fixer paid for the cab fare and attempted to relax as the hovercar took off into the upper levels of the city. He pulled free the face mask that had protected him from the pollution. His pack was dropped into the seat next to him. Fixer felt odd here next to Vegas, as if he was replacing casino in a manner.
He waited for Vegas to chime in as he sat there nonchalantly.

Topic: Flesh & Blood - A Night City Adventure Subject: On the run.....
The sirens. Fixer heard them every night, but he never thought that they would be coming for him. However, he did just get into a firefight in public, caused total damage to a vehicle that was not involved in said firefight, and would be held responsible for any medical bills of passenger of said vehicle. This was a night of firsts for him. A quick glance looked around as Fixer retrieved the firearms lying in the car, no need to let them go to waste. Extra parts could be needed or could be sold if it came to that.
With a slight limp, the techie headed to regroup with his companions. The three of them were in front of the club as Casino spoke up, "Ok cops get here and run is done pretty much for whoever stays.. Now me I'm shot up bad and need a medic, pain blocker gonna quit soon. Starlight is hurt too so pretty clear I'll stay with her till her AV gets here and pulls her out. I figure cops will get me patched up. You and Vegas need to get out of here to keep the mission on track"
Moving to Vegas's and Starlight's side with Fixer behind him he sat down next to her pushing Vegas to the side. Taking over the care of the lady fixer the big solo spoke to his partner as he did so.
"I got her, you and Fixer need to get out of here now and get back in touch with the others. This run is still on choomba no need for all three of us to get jailed. No bulls*** this time Vegas, the run is first priority like always" Turning to Fixer he handed the techie his MPK, it's extra ammo and grenades and the Armalite he had used to deliver the headshots with.
"Now take these and you two get the f*** gone!"
"Will Vegas know how to get in touch with you once we're done," Fixer posed the question as he put the sidearm along with ammunition and grenades into his pack. The tech was very careful to place the grenades in side pouches of his pack where they fit snug and would have a least chance of going off. The SMG was strapped to the side (in whatever manner he can manage).
Now hefting the more heavily laden pack onto his shoulder, Fixer spoke up once more, "Don't like leaving a person behind, but got my word that we'll come get you when we've got the chance. I'll keep ahold of these for ya."
Fixer knows the meaning of a sacrifice, and looks to Casino for a lead. These are his streets.

Topic: Flesh & Blood - A Night City Adventure Subject: Once more into the fray...
Fixer could see that the driver of the van was injured but alive, at least that much would not be resting on his conscience this night. A burst of gunfire brought his attention to the side where he saw Casino roll backwards and out of sight, not knowing if the man was injured. Weapons fire came from where the solo had taken cover at and fixer hunched down once more into cover.
Not knowing if anybody was still alive from within the car, he was not one to take a chance at such. He fixed his uzi's sights onto the side door and fired off a pair of bursts. He would be a bit cautious before approaching the bullet ridden vehicle.
(Okay....going to fire off a pair of bursts and then approach the vehicle in a combat glide or crawl if necessary. Combat glide --- think where you see infantry guys hunched over a bit and walking to where they're about half to two thirds their normal height. If can get close enough will open the door a bit and just fire a good burst into the back seat; dont even need to get a good look. If he's dead by what Casino's post says then fixer will rendezvous back up with casino.)
