Abraxis

I heard from him a few days ago. He has changed email addresses, but I'm really not sure what is up with him overall.

I hate delays (like most people), but I'm having fun and I certainly understand getting sick, so no worries.

Looking forward to continuing the adventures of our little motley crew.

Totally off topic from this thread--Brave New World adventure is still waiting for you. Send a character to my email. You get all the information you need on the new DJI site. If anyone else is interested, you are welcome to join too. Think everyone from this adventure is already in or given an intent to join except Wayne and Scott. I understand if you don't have the time for another game, but you are welcome if you so desire.

Hey Darque ...

..... my character for Brave New World has been rolled and as soon as I can write up his history I will send all the info to you!

Printed out a couple of maps to get my bearings for writing the history, which may NOT be Deeply Detailed, but should provide enough info to work from!

ShadowDragon, I am enjoying this adventure you have concocted for us at Oaks Heart and I look forward to your updated info for Land of Xenophobia also!

Glad you are up and about ... just in time for football weekend over there in the States!

The game is afoot . . . .again!

Well, it seems the action has begun again. (Glad your feeling better SD!)

Anvil's basic thoughts:
1. We (At least Anvil) do not leave people behind, so we can't leave until either Carus' and crew have returned to the wagons or we have gone and found them.
2. We do not split up - at this point that would seem to include the woodsmen as well as our little crew. Thus we can't "send the wagons back" - while the rest of us stay here and do something else. We either take the wagons with us or abandon them.

Given the likelihood of an attack on the camp I think we need to go there. I don't think we can take the wagons with us.

SD - two quick questions:
1. How much would the wagons slow us down? Can they make it to the camp? I would assume so. Or would riding the wagons be faster?
2. If we unhitched the horses from the wagons, how long would that take? I would think they would then be able to go even faster than a dwarf could on foot - is that correct?

As #2 above implies, I'd rather not leave the horses attached to the wagons behind to feed orcs. I'm inclined to unhitch the teams and go quickly to the camp to rescue Carus if that is possible. But we all stay together - woodsmen and adventurors. If unhitching the horses takes too long we run the risk of being caught by those following the horsemen. Or caught between those at the camp and those following.

I don't remember what those scrolls did - would they summon aid? Not now, but perhaps at the camp if we found ourselves a bit outnumbered.

Rat ponders ......

and concurs - stay together. Concurs, head to the camp. Concurs, leave nothing for the Orcs if possible. Suggests setting fire to the forest/road which the loggers just came back from to stop/slow down the Orcs. Would only take moments and then we bug out.

Setting a fire...

Setting a fire inthe woods is an interesting idea. Of course, these things have a way of getting out of control . . . Then again, there already is a fire going.

Glad I'm not running a ranger or Druid anyway.

do any of you have the riding prof.? if not the wagons would be the only way unless you doubled with proficent riders. the only thing that would really slow the wagons are the large quantity of supplies that are piled up into them, if you ditch them it would make them faster and also allow for more riders per wagon. then again nothings going to be real fast due to the smoke obscuring your view everything will have to go at ameasured pace to keep to the logging trail and to stay together.

What to do...

I say we load up and heads towards the camp as fast as we can. Strength in numbers so no splitting up.

Load up

Well, it seems there isn't much reason to leave behind the horses or wagons. I guess they come with.

From the sound of it I'm not sure we would gain much time by dumping goods either. We can probably walk as quickly. Plus, Anvil at least wouldn't mind having his feet on the ground.

So with 3 votes in it is sounding like we might be all heading off towards the camp. Two more questions:

1. Does anyone want to ride a wagon?
2. I'm inclined to walk in front (with at least one woodsman to announce our identity.) - what say the rest?
3. Does anyone want to start a fire to slow down the chasing orcs?

Did I mention that I had intended to take riding as a skill? Does that count?

About the wagons. . .

I say let the wagoneers drive them to the camp as fast and efficiently as possible. Those of us with missile weapons could ride on them and pick off the orcs as we see them.

It keeps our numbers togehter, doesn't leave any horses or supplies behind for the orcs and lets us pop a few of them on the way to find Carus.

That is just my thought.

Anyone else for a ride?

T'Sal is in the wagon. Anyone else?

My guess is horsemen up front, wagons next and we flank the wagons. Sound good? Pick a location if you want one - we should probably let SD know exactly where around the wagon we are each standing. I'd rather not wing that on my own as placing your character could be important.

Rat asks

give me five minutes, with my tinder and flint, I have it all to start 3-4 brush fires; someone cover my back, I will scamper around, light them and then hop on a wagon for us to 'trot' with my sling out .....

that said, I will do whatever Anvil decides

Anvil feels powerful . . .

a halfling will obey his every will and command!

Other opinions on specific locations or the rats pyro tendencies? I will probably post in a few hours - early this evening.

Hey Guys

Just got home from the office about an hour and a half ago1

Now it is 12:30am and I am running out of time!

I have a Spell for Stones that I think make 3 stones charged for damage dealing!

Do not have time to check as I am getting too sleepy, but I was going to charge 3 stones and give them to Rat for him to use in his sling!

Then I was going to either use my Heavy Crossbow or just stand ready with my Battle Axe!

Anyway, go ahead and post for me!

Charged stones

Any idea how long the stones stay charged? Might it be better to wait until the action seems immenent? I have no idea, I don't know the spell - just curious.

Post will be up in a few minutes.
