Friendly Reminder

Cunning Fox, Ullrich and Shandra each get to fire 3 Arrows per Combat Round.

You other Archers only get to fire 2 Arrows per Combat Round.

Also, these HobGoblins have a slight bit more vitality than the Giant Ants [Lieutenants have more than the Warriors] and those Two-Handed Battle Axes they are using can potentially inflict twice the damage that the Giant Ants were able to inflict upon the gladiators.

At Least you Only have 57 HobGoblins to eliminate!

Nomad asked me how many Waves are there?

That is Undisclosed Information!

Also Please Note that the Generic Orders for Combat Rounds 1-6 regarding Bumble Brew, Fuzzy Wolverine, ThunnGarr and Ollie Gory are at the bottom of the previous page!

And the second wave begins

Ullrich will unleash the special power of his oath bow upon the hobgoblins. Because of this he will want to continue to use the bow for as long as possible - perhaps even stepping back a little ways in rounds 2 or 3 if needed to remain out of the melee and able to use the ranged weapon. However, if someone looks to be in serious trouble and being up close he could redirect the attacks, he will charge in with both blades flashing.

He will start by targeting the foremost hobgobby in front of him. I forgot the number. Overall his preference is to target the injured to remove them from play. Shoot, shoot and keep shooting is the general idea.

Sir Yder 6 rounds

Yder will use his bow as long as possible firing first at #6, attempting to get to the Lt. If at any time he feels that he has a shot at the Lt., that should become his target. If not, he will fire at any target that blocks his shot at the Lt.

We have been busy!

Wow! I guess in the middle of the move and everything you were able to get some things done!

Two quick questions:
1. Are we not moving back to our usual starting positions?
2. The oath bow - the way you phrased your last comment about it ("we will likely see more hobgoblins...") seems to imply that it is now forever attuned to hobgoblins. Is that the case? Or do I get to pick a different enemy every 24 hours? If it is always attuned to hobbys - what is the point of a 24 hour time limit? At this point it is an anti-hobgoblin bow. Obviously this doesn't matter for the rest of the dance, but it will later.

I should have a story line post up soon.

WOW ...

..... what an Awesome post from Nomad that was a Great and Thought Provoking Reading Experience!

Answers to your questions:

1. No! "The Trap" has been sprung and there is no returning to your original positions for Wave Three!

2. Basically the Oath Bow responds to the oath spoken in slaying any enemy that you may encounter.

If you were in the forest and a band of HobGoblins attacked you [or Kobalds, or Ants, or Lizard Folk or whatever else] and you uttered the oath then you would have the extra fire power until either the enemy was dead [in which case you would have to wait 24 hours before you could use it against another enemy!

or

If some of the attackers escaped then your Oath Bow would have to wait one week before it could be used against any other type of opponents, unless you were able to track down the escaped attackers and eliminate them [like if it took 3 days to find them and you finally killed them all then you would have to wait 24 hours before you could swear another oath against another enemy!

But if you finally caught up to them, say 10 days later, the Oath Bow enhancement would have worn off before then.

Chances are quite likely that you will encounter HobGoblins in your future journey once you escape the Dark Arena!

However, there are No More HobGoblins to fight in the Dark Arena, but you may wish there were more compared to what is on the battle schedule between where you are now and the freedom you are seeking!

Another ...

..... 100 Experience Points have been awarded to the Second Wave survivors in our South End party!

Remember also that I will be assigning Experience Points at some point for your scribings in Land of Xenophobia!

Looks like Ullrich just got a bundle more for what Nomad wrote! [Undecided how many Experience Points I am awarding for the writing!]

*Scratches head*

Thank you for maintaining Ariane during my inactivity. As expected from the newb, I am overwhelmed by what is going on. Now sure of the positions. I'll try to re-read.

Have finished typing in Word ...

..... the intro to the Third Wave earlier today!

Have also finished another crude map so you can see where everyone is positioned including the Third Wave Opponents!

Just have to get the map scanned and then post both before I fly to the Philippines!

I could go ahead and post the written material, but I did not include the positions where everyone is, which need to be shown on the map, so we will wait a couple of days!

new actions

Cunning Fox will switch to his staff and summon a creature for defense, he will then try to stay close to othergroup members in case anyone needs healing and switch back to his bow if able to stay out of close combat if not he will retain his staff as his weapon.

Identifying the enemy

Even just identifying the type and number of the enemy would help us plan. So while we need the map to make final decisions, it would probably be useful to have the written section up whenever you get the chance - even mapless.

Lookin' forward to the next wave . . . I think.

Good news and ...

..... better news later!

I am at the newspaper office visiting some folks and had the map scanned and posted in photobucket which is good news!

Better news is that the Third Wave introduction that I wrote is at home on my laptop, so I am unable to update right now, but later tonight I will post the info and the map together at the same time!

Better news!

ShadowDragon

I spent part of this afternoon figuring out which magical beast you would be summoning [after reading your post in Land of Xenophobia] and I have an interesting one picked out, but you will not know what it is until I get the next post written and posted [hopefully while in the Philippines!]

Nomad

I purposely waited a couple of days before posting the Third Wave introduction to kind of leave you all salivating at what is entering the Dark Arena on the Third Wave!

Although I could go ahead and post the description and number of your Third Wave Opponents I just want to extend the cliffhanger element for a few more hours!
