Sometimes you frighten me, Valimar

Tann Talas - sounds like that band Rage in the Machine, or Rage Against the Machine, or something similar to that.

Here's one for you guys. It goes something like:

Duhhh duh duh duh! Duh duh duhhhhhhhhhh duh duh!

I got one...

its' short but sweet...

They say that legends are born not made,
heroes are those who don't expect pay
shadows are carved of contrasting light
one man's wrong is another man's right

Oldie but Goodie

How about this one?

"I remember one year my mom took me school shopping it was me, my brother, my mom, oh, my pop and my little sister all hopped in the car, we were headed downtown to the gallery mall. My mom started buggin' at the clothes she chose. I didn't say nothin' at first. I just turned up my nose. She said, "Hey, what's wrong? This shirt costs 40 dollars?" I said, "Mom, the shirt is plaid with a butterfly collar." The next six hours was the same old thing, my mother buying me clothes from 1963 then she went too far and did the ultimate...I asked her for Adidas and she bought me zips!"

i actually think i know one

Reply to Avrielle: "Parents Just don't Understand"...? or whatever the title is specifically.
By Will Smith.

((hey Valimar, Almerin did mention the name of the metal band Dethklok, he just wrote it as the subject line, so it was looked over.))

New Song: and no cheating. I know some of you can get this without cheating!! I know Alacrity can anyway, .

So they sat down and made a drawing of their love, an art to live by.
They painted every passion, every home, created every beautiful child.
In the winter they were weavers of warmth, in summer they were carpenters of love.
They thought blue prints were too sad, so they made them yellow.
'Cause they were painters and they were painting themselves...A lovely world.

points up

*points at Fantasy* What she said, Val!

anyways... hey, I don't mind cheating. But now you guys are just passing my songtext. And other people's too. Were they that hard?

I'm not answering Fantasy's tune, because we would like to know if anybody else knows it. Since we live together, it would be cheating (really BAD cheating). haha

Ok Hmmmmm

I guess except for GreyGrey no one really tried to guess my tune. Grey for your info its not Rage Against the Machine.
The band the song comes from has been around since the early 80's. As such here's another clue the song title is three words with the words starting with these letters S.T.D

Also like Almerin asked, should we not try to solve the last song before adding a new one, not sure how this games supposed to work if its supposed to work at all.

yeah, ok

No we should try to solve the first one before answering or addign a new one. I cheated and I have been appropriately whipped... and I was then approrpiately chastized for enjoying thw whipping a little too much, lol.

sooo

so we need to answer these:

Alacrity's song: Jack -- relax.
Get busy with the facts.
No zodiacs or almanacs,
No maniacs in polyester slacks.
Just the facts.
Gonna kick some gluteus max.

Lyskhala's song: They say that legends are born not made,
heroes are those who don't expect pay
shadows are carved of contrasting light
one man's wrong is another man's right

Tann'Talas' song: Religion and Sex are power plays Manipulate the people for the money they pay selling skin, selling God the numbers look the same on their credit cards
Politicians say no to drugs while we pay for wars in South America.
Fighting fire with empty words, while the banks get fat, the poor stay poor and the rich get rich, and the cops get paid to look away as the one percent rules America...

Fantasy's song: So they sat down and made a drawing of their love, an art to live by.
They painted every passion, every home, created every beautiful child.
In the winter they were weavers of warmth, in summer they were carpenters of love.
They thought blue prints were too sad, so they made them yellow.
'Cause they were painters and they were painting themselves...A lovely world.

Well

One song was already revealed as to be Rush's "Roll the Bones" and it was the one posted by Alacrity.

So these three are yet still to be solved.

Lyskhala's song:
They say that legends are born not made,
heroes are those who don't expect pay
shadows are carved of contrasting light
one man's wrong is another man's right

Tann'Talas' song:
Religion and Sex are power plays Manipulate the people for the money they pay selling skin, selling God the numbers look the same on their credit cards

Fighting fire with empty words, while the banks get fat, the poor stay poor and the rich get rich, and the cops get paid to look away as the one percent rules America...

Fantasy's song:

In the winter they were weavers of warmth, in summer they were carpenters of love.
They thought blue prints were too sad, so they made them yellow.
'Cause they were painters and they were painting themselves...A lovely world.

And though I think I recognize the words to Lyskhala's song I just cannot place it as for Fantasy's on that one I am totally lost

easy clues. You can get this, peoples!

oh right, ok. Al's was answered. Well then...i'll just give a couple easy clues to mine:

1.The singer's name is another name for a gem.

2.The name of the SONG is in the text i wrote. Just think about the subject of the story. It's a one-word title.

Oh and Tann, is your song by the band U2 or something?

Jewel

With "Painters."

No...I don't listen to them...you just gave good clues..and Google did the rest .

MUAHAHAHA Behold a very, very, VERY brutal band. Well...you'de have to hear em to know how brutal they are.

"Stormwinds wail, man has failed
Through the scorching flames of destruction we sail
Apocalyptic signs fulfilled in this holocaust tale
See the fires in fenris' eyes
The seas now churns as the serpent writhes
The fate of midgard sealed with the stench of the funeral pyres

The sail is set for the south, leaving a world in havoc behind
And the dragonhead's eyes spies after the very last land to extinct
The bonecovered prem splits the bloodfilled waves,
And the keel crushes the untouched shore with its rage

The world implodes in a sphere of chaos
As naglfar devours you all, face now the eye of ragnarok"

RAAAAHHHHHHHH *Headbangs to death*

XD

Good Guess (or was it??)

DING DING DING!! Yes Fantasy you are correct the verse is from the song "Spreading The Disease" by one of my favorite bands Queensryche. It comes off of thier 1988 concept album "Operation Mindcrime" which is my favorite album of any band up to this point.

The Band just this year in Jan finally released the long awaited sequel "Operation Mindcrime 2" and went on tour by themselves doing both Albums along with an eleborate stage show with actors and guest singers including Ronnie James Dio all based on the story telling songs.

I was lucky to see this sold out show here in San Antonio Texas and it was awesome. They are returning in Nov to Austin and I already have another ticket.

With my song figured out I guess we only have one more song to figure out before we continue.....
