Oops! my bad ...

the encounter distance was supposed to be listed in the post, but was left out. Will edit. When seen they were aproximately 350 yards distant, and coming gast.

At a full-out run, the horses cna cover that distance in a round or three ...

But I gotta ask you this: If you can shoot at then to "efen the odds", what makes you think thay can't attempt to pick you off, too, from a distance. And if all four are bowmen? Then what? Four arrows to two could means a greater chance for them to hit, no?

Just a thought ...

just to be sure

So there are 8 riders in total: 4 at each camp?

Clarity is fine, but

Since your character can only see four riders, the others should be of no concern to her since she is not aware of them.

But to answer your question: no.

Ok

I was just confused as a player as your posts had one camp under mounted attack and the other seeing riders in the distance with one guarding the others. Velina is only concerned with the ones she sees.

While they could attempt to do that...

If they were coming at a full out run, then they would get more penalties than just distance. We would therefore get a higher attack roll... but okay.

I'm up for a fight.

My changes have been made, and the new bit is in italic text.

Ny answer?

To give this some perspective, Velina sais she was going about a half-mile back the way you came. That makes their camp nearly 900 yards distant (approx. 820 meters, or 2600+ feet).

The distance and difference in altitude allowed for the viewing of the fires between the camps as flickers in th night .. .

A running horse can cover that distance in about 3 minutes (give or take a minute for animal size)

So I'd have to say ...

Inn full daylight, Yes. Vaguely. As teeny-tiny ant-like figures moveing, but no great detail.

Sorry guys

I've been completely swamped with a paper for my english class. I just finished it up last night, so I'm hoping I'll have more time now.

It's okay... I think.

I mean, nothing too major has happened... Velina and I are just in a fight. And we are going to win.
