I'm here

Thinking through the latest update.

Probably be good to check out that box and the jelly-fish... maybe they have something to do with the "ritual"?
Anyone have Knowledge [Nature] to check the jelly-fish? Or knowledge [Arcana] to check the symbols on the box on the shelf (and the sword's chest for that matter)? How about bardic lore?

Anyway... great post, Almerin! I hope to return the favor later today or early tomorrow.

yes

There are some clues there, in that update, but they're quite subtle.

Guys, we've lost another player. Gboy has messaged me that he can't involve himself with this game anymore. This is too bad.

Fortunately, Kaelyn has shown an interest and he'll be making a character soon.

No post from me.

I'm away for the long weekend and likely won't be able to post until Tuesday. I don't have much to add here though. Driscoll will be focused Tami down the well. (and maybe, Isi as well?)

Anyway, Brianna, nice catch on suggesting we check the well! Good work!

I'm lat, I'm late, for a very Important Date.

Srry we were away from last Friday until MOnday. I was laid up with swollen feet and could not walk. I am up in rolling chair now and made it to PC.

Yep!

Read it! Looking to reply shortly... though not sure what I'll add... it will mostly be an RP post. Not really moving the story forward, merely responding to what's already written.

Pressing on / Weighing in

I'm in agreement with Dragon Mistress' suggestion. Our characters have had a full day digging, discovering, and rescuing. I say they're deserving of a pint or two at the Inn. Looking into the book somemore in a fine idea... maybe conversing with the townsfolk some more now that their heart are a bit grateful and their tongues are a bit looser. See if we can't gather a bit more info on what's going on.

Let's weigh in folks and move this story along! Are we all still in? Is Kaelyn still joining us?

Laid up

I am a bit worse off than DM. I am in the hospital for a sudden shortness of breath, pulmonary edema, at the least and unknown on anything else so far. I have undergone a battery of tests now hopefully after the analysis a diagnosis can be made. Dragon Mistress brought me the lap top and they had a public hot sot at the hospital so I am posting.

I think that after our rescue of this child the townfolk would ben more amenable to talking with us, if we take it slowly and work into it.

well

I've messaged but not heard from any of the new players. I've had very brief contact with Kaelyn, and he said he was working on something for the game, but that was a few weeks ago as well. It looks like we're going to finish with the four of us, but that doesn't really matter. Unless you guys know somebody who would be willing to jump into a game just for the final battle (because you guys are THAT close).

Alright...

Well, Almerin... I'd say we're all in agreement to head back to the Inn and follow through with Tamuril's suggestion of checking out our newly acquired stuff.

While Isi and Tami work on copying the book, Driscoll will spend his time talking with the townsfolk about their lives, gently prodding about their livelihoods, the sea, the wizard's tower, the monthly maruading monsters, the family feud from the past, etc, etc... just casual conversation, you know.

Intrigueing Thoughts

Exactly what I was going to do as well. I could so some healing of townsfolk and hold a nice friendly conversation with my patients and anyone else about. Even telling them we found some interesting information while at the Monastery about the town. and invite them to tell more.

My thought is that the marauders are because of the woman form the sea that was killed in fear and misunderstanding. Obvious from the story we found was the fact that she was found in the sea and prayed to a Sea Deity (that is my assumption) or at least a Deity unknown to those on the land.

This tribute might very well be retribution for hi death. She perhaps was even a cleric of said deity. (another assumption) yet to be proven but not necessary really to do so.) It seems her death set off the monthly extortions.

Now my fertile mind has also thought that the old sage/mage has gone underground or into hiding for his peace, (remembering that passage in his book that said something about soon he would have his peace). The monthly extortions are him getting supplies from the villages and it is he sending the creatures to fetch them.

Hmm Say tune for the next installment of this intriguing tale.
