hmmm

what's this Spell-Touch that Thondrek is currently using?

With permission to revamp Thondrek from Al,I'm looking into it but

aside from a 5th lvl Khord Wizardish character..

What did I have to work with?

money?
items?
stat rolling?
(May keep grugg's since I'm wondering about the nice 21int.

Stats = roll 4d6 and drop lowest one. Please reroll, at the time I didn't think stats mattered too much, but now I see that they are quite overpowering.

Money = 9000 GP, from this money you can buy all your equipment, including magical items should you want any. Magical items are picked from the standard list in the DMG

The weapon he is refering to is just spells, touch spells and ranged (touch) spells.

Also, he never picked a familiar. IF you want one, it's yours to pick.

duskblade

Kaelyn, where do I find the Duskblade class? In which book?
The reason I ask is because I think that +5 att bonus AND spells AND armor AND good saves is very powerful. Plus you have high stats like most of my other players. Stats are not the main problem, since I can make my enemies with the same high scores, but I think you don't really need such a powerful charry to enjoy and survive my game.
A warmage or battlemage from the Miniatures handbook (and others) is much more balanced I think. Perhaps you can look into that?

I want my players to have a great character to play with, but this goes a little far.

Duskblade

It's a core class in the Players handbook II

From the discussions I've read on the class they've actually ranged from calling it mostl underbalanced to balanced.

The spells max at 5th level, and are very limited, primarily to touch based spells. It's pretty comparable to a spellthief in the mage thief merger..

I just pictured a dwarf a bit more gung-ho...so I chose this...

Tabletopped a 5th DB vs a 5th fighter and a 5th wizard... lost to wizard but beat fighter...but frankly I believe that was Thondrek's +4 constitution and a lucky crit credited with victory.
Stats rolled came from RDI's own dice roller
Anyways, I thought a new race and a new class I've never tried would be a neat way to herald my return.

Get back to me with your thoughts.

meh...

I could kill it, I think. But compared to those stats mine kinda suck. I think it's okay to post my character, so here he is:

--------------------------------------------------------------

(stats on 1st Page of this thread)

------------------------------------------------------------

You might notice that he doesn't have any waterskin. There's story behind it which I won't share just yet (I actually forgot, but I love story-seeds )

EDIT: Guess I don't need to have him here then

cool

I haven't checked, but I think I already uploaded him to the first page of Q/A. Very possible

edit: Yep, it's there

also, Kaelyn: let's try your duskblade and see how it works out. I suppose giving it a try doesn't hurt.

ok, here goes:

I'm writing a special update for Vidar right now. But since some people are confused on who is where and where is what, let me give a little summary right here:

There are three storylines (or game-lines if you prefer):
1 - The main group, consisting of everybody except Elessarae and Vidar. Set out from Khordal with a mission to go to Chakranna, a lost city of an extinct race of dwarves. There they must find knowledge or valuable items for a Khordaldrum salesman. If they can find out anything about the Chakran Portal, that would be an extra bonus.

2 - Elessar. New to the Bladesinger Order, this elven woman is set out on a quest that is unknown to other players.

3 - Vidar. Story coming up. 3rd line belonged to Tobin, but his player quit, and Tobin is now a necromantic experiment.

In time, all these storylines will come together and people will be one group. But that's my intention, so it will probably turn out to go an entirely different way

Also: Give a very warm welcome to our one and only webmaster. He's going to take over Geimiedefher the Khordaldrum Cleric.
