on another note

Dragon Mistress, what do you intend to do with the flower? I wrote that it will open and bloom when the sun is at its highest point. But I would like to know how you will handle it after that. Will you transport it, do something with it right there, paste it up, grind the oil out, keep it whole?

seleta

Skari: Vidar should know what a Seleta is. It is a word that Khords (dwarves) use for trademark. It is a translation of the word in the Khordaldrum language. A seleta is placed on the weapon by its creator. In other words, if the sign of the creator is on Haircutter, your Grandfather's axe, AND on the other weapons, then they were all created by the same Khord.

Heh

And I thought that seleta was what was written on them, not that it was the khord word for trademark but the trademark itself.

Edited the post to better fit this new information. Hope I got it right this time.

Getting caught up....I hope you dont mind that I posted our conversation, Vesper, but it seems Alysia is not going to follow or respond to Draven. If she does, just posted it I guess. Or she can reaproach him later on...And speaking of which, now need to update the actual game!

okies

Nice interaction there, guys. Very good.

I will be having sorely little time to update, and most likely not able to update all three game-lines.
So if you aren't updated this weekend, don't be mad. I'll do my best to compensate during the week.

thanks.

The Plan

I have an Invisible spell. The battle will be half as difficult if the group only needs to fight one at a time, so I really think we try and split them. If theres such a good possibility of losing charactors, then by all means, Draven is as qualified...moreso...then the others for that. It's in his charactor. I fully understand the risks, but Draven would do this.

Now as for the plan.

Draven will suggest you make soft noises in the doorway, grab the nearest corpse, drag it out. The queen is sleeping. Shes less likely to wake up and investigate then the other. So perhaps youll be lucky enough to draw only 1 bear. If you draw Two, Draven will be invisible, waiting near the queen. He will....keep her occupied. I've got items to drop on her, or to throw against a wall that should keep her attention. I will be careful not to act in a manner aggressive enough to be concidered an "attack". That way i can retain my invisibility, and close and lock the door behind the first bear.

;

sounds good, I will use Loda as a buffer/offensive magic dealer, but when I run out, I'll switch to fighter mode. those levels in fighter arent going to be unused in this battle. I like the idea of drawing one out at a time, and it is the best thing to do, so just as long as we do that, I think we can handle this.

alright

Ok, so a plan is forming slowly.

You need to specify several things:

- who is going to lure either bear out? The Khords?
- where is everybody standing. I'll try to post a small map of the tower later on, but it will probably be tomorrow.
- when will what be triggered. If draven is alone inside, who closes the door and when?
- anything else that needs to be specified. Non-specified hooks will be filled in by me, or just counted as not-considered and therefore neglected.

Ok...

So the plan is this...And everyone can put their two sense in, and amend it as they see fit.

Al made it clear that this battle will likely take the lives of some of our players, if played out in a conventional method. None of us want our charactors to die, so the only way to REALLY do something about this disadvantage, is to be clever, and to take some risks. Since it's my idea, I should take the risk. Secondly, of all the characters, Draven's death will be the least mourned. It wont be so traumatizing .

I don't however, intend to die. The plan is really QUITE simple. I have an Invisibility spell, I have tanglefoot bags, I have Thunderstones, I have the ability to sneak!

The plan is this.
Part 1.
Khords, and I shall enter Ground level. They shall take the lead, and I shall stay back and in the shadows at a distance that is ample enough for me to cast Invisibility without being targeted.

Khords shall proceed cautiously to level 1, and I shall stay behind them. I will reserve Invisibility until I need it.

At level 1, there shall be two things that may happen (Hopefully not more). The khords shall encounter the bear that seems to have been patrolling, or level 1 shall be empty. If it is empty, we shall investigate for any signs of a returning bear.

If there is a bear:
Khords MUST get it's attention swiftly and efficiantly, DO NOT YELL, DO NOT MAKE LOUD NOISE. Get its attention silently. Such a feirce bear should be easy....all it needs to do is see you, make sure it sees you. Dance. Draven needs to hide away from your attention gathering selves. IF there is a bear, Draven shall cast Invisiibility. Khords get its attention by dancing, and then flee. Flee like scared little rabbits. Give the bear utter confidence so that it feels it can handle you on its own. Lure it out. Draven remains for part 2.

If no bear but we hear what may be a bear, Khords shall make faint noise, and i shall hide away from them. Hopefuly a bear approaches, and we shall wait for the bear, and then act as we shall in scenario 1.

If there is No bear, and no sign of a bear. Khords proceed silently and cautiously up the stairs to lvl 2. Hopefully you dont need to actually go into the floor. And with luck, you will get the attention of 1 bear, who will chase you out. If there are two bears, and 1 is asleep, khords shall be sure the wake bear sees them, and shall flee immediately and as quietly as possible. If there are two awake bears, Khords shall flee like the wind.

Part 2.

Draven shall remain visible as long as is safe, because who knows how long hell need to remain invisible. However, as soon as a bear is spotted, he shall go invisible.

If the khords successfully pull 1 bear without attracting a second, then Draven will simply follow, and lock the door after the bear leaves. he will then wait for someone to signal that the bear is dealt with by knocking on the door. In which case, we simply pull out another bear, and so on and so forth. A simple matter.

If TWO bears are pulled.

Draven shall launch a thunderstone behind the second bear. The explosive sound will surely get it's attention. At least...Draven hopes. If it DOES get teh bears attention, the bear wont be able to see Draven, but hopefully it investigates teh horrific sound that just erupted from it's own domain. Hopefully the first will continue to chase the Khords, and IF THE FIRST BEAR HESITATES DUE TO SOUND, KHORDS ATTACK FIRST BEAR...THROW A ROCK AT IT OR SOMETHING SO IT CHASES.

While the second bear is investigating the sound, Draven shall...pick up random items and throw them in the opposite direction that the khords fled. This should draw teh bears attention further away (but also away from Draven, who is invisible and throwing things away from him ).

Once there has been ample space and attention put between teh two bears, Draven will hurry down to the door and lock it.

If Draven fails to get the attention of any second bear that hopefully does not appear, with the first thunderstone, he shall try with his second one. Using thundestones and throwing items does not make Draven Visible.

Ok...this should be ample for now.

Oh, and to add on....if anyone else has an invisibility spell...you could use that and then Draven can save his for if he needs it.
