spells

Yes, spells would help.

But Loda doesn't have warp wood and Malius has Summon Nature's Ally.

Clerical Casting

It really depends on the DM how he want to do it. PHB gives V S M for clerical spells. Some DM keep to that and others feeling that since the power of the spell is divine that cleric do not need V S M to cast spells.

Since this is not a D&D world, you can make the call. Me, I DM a Bastardized D&D which works very well. Clerics do not need V S M, even Arcane casters can do without them, but they take a precentage chance for spell failure. 20% for each V S and or M they do not use. If the spell fails they do not lose it, it just never went off.

hmmm

I can see why you would rule that... but I don't think I'll change that kind of thing. If you do that it makes the feats for that purpose kind of useless. Besides, you reduce the amount of challenges the party faces. I'm glad I had your hands bound otherwise you might've ran out of this goblin encampment already. Where's the fun in that?

Oh well.. it doesn't even matter that much in this situation. Casting will not come easy.

Have to Correct Brianna

Bri Your above Q/A post about the handles and cutting them belongs in the Trilogy War Q/A not here as this is Almerin's game not mine . Surprised he did not say something.

But with his leave I will answer it here. Yes you could cut the handles fron the statue but it will take too long as the gas is rising and has already started to damage the party as you will see in my post tonight.

Thanks for letting me use your Q/A Al.

hah

No problem Tann, hehe.

I sent Brianna a PM about it earlier today, figuring she would delete the question after replacing it... I guess not. But it doesn't matter. We should keep it here, since we're all one big family.

one big family..

and Almerin's the big ol brother who lieks to torture his siblings

I don't recall reading any answer to my question about the cage, is it a wooden base / top with iron bars? or what?

And Loda's character sheet shows Warp wood which is why I made the comment.. would be nice to know what spells everyone had left.

Still Elessarae has the best non-magical chance of getting free.

..

alright I'll post here what spells I have and also either of those spells need Somatic parts, which my hands are tied.

Spells ( by default will memorize these spells each day)
0: Cure Minor wounds x2, Detect Magic, Flare, Guidance, Detect Poison
1: Cure Light Wounds x3, Good Berry, Summon Nature’s Ally I, Produce Flame
2: Bull’s Strength x2, Barkskin x2, Flaming Sphere x2, Summon Nature’s Ally II, Warp Wood

Spells Per Day
0: 5
1: 3 +1
2: 2 +1

I think I have used up all of my lvl 2 spells, not sure. I used a flaming sphere at the goblins, then a bull strength to buff and also a bark skin. so I do have it memorized, just used up all my slots. Produce flame and summon natures ally I are still options though, if i could get my hands free. Also I think our best bet is to see where the ferrets are! They could chew threw ropes in a matter of seconds probably.

hmm

too bad Brianna deleted her post... I liked it there

and I didn't know the cage thing was a question... hehe. Yes, metal bars on a wooden surface and wooden wheels and wooden roof.

And Jozan: why are there x2 and x3 behind some of your spells?

I believe

the x#'s are to indicate he's prayed for multiple spells of the same name.
Though of course now I realize if such were the case he'd be way above his spells/day ratio.

Question born of desperation

What is the condition of the cage floor?

Is the wood well-weathered and capable of being dug at (as in splintered) with a hard boot-heel?

[edit]
And along the same line: We have our respective armors? Does the floor look as if it could be dug at effectively with a large buckle from someone's armor?
[end edit]

Or is it frustratingly solid and of quality wood?

.

Oh I thought druids could pray for any amount of spells, but could only cast a certain amount of them. I'll change it if I majorly messed up, sorry bout that I don't play druids that much >.<

Don't know how it works here, but ...

In my experience, clerics and druids simply pray for their desired spells, ahd their diety grants them (or withholds them) based on the cleric's/druid's efforts to follow the tenets and goals of the diety.

Some of my clerics have suffered the ignominy of receiving NO granted spells or powers, because they severely transgressed ...

And I have had dieties award my characters spells outside of what was requested (as replacements for, or sometimes in addition to, the requested/allotted spells) ...

well

I always played druids and clerics just like wizards, and I DMed them the same way. You decide on your spells in the morning, and you only have access to a limited amount (spells per day). You can't pray for more spells than your limit.

And the wood is not frustratingly thick.... but to say it is splintered and rotten is another thing. This cage seems to be in a better condition than you would expect from a bunch of goblins. Perhaps digging would work, if you use pieces of armor, you certainly will be able to dig away splinters. But it will take time, just like rope-gnawing (well, perhaps not that much ).
