Beware!

While the others seemed to assume that the battle was over and the danger past, Xour decided to take his wolf with him and use his tracking skills to determine the direction these foes used to get here. He circled the battle site just along the edges lowing for sign and expecting to be ambushed at any time. He also intended to determine if any foes had left unnoticed.

A Dwarf Returned

Highnar could see that for the most part the fighting was over, the bolts from the hidden archers having stopped.
Clear it was to the dwarf that the Drow he had killed was the leader of this rogue’s, as upon his death the remaining Drow had fled. After searching the body for anything of worth he made his way over to the rest of the party, now all but Xour, clumped together around a female Drow and some dark elf children.

“Well met my friends, sorry am I that I was not here for the beginning of this fight, but a wee lad had need of me help this past forthnite. But I be here now and with Moradin’s blessing I will continue to be so. So what do we have here, a Dark one and her brood.”

With his greeting given he watched as the female Drow did attend to some in the party in the manner of healing. Who was this dark one surely she did not seem evil and the others seemed not to want to attack her. For now he would keep his hate of Drow quiet and would try not to condemn her on account of her skin color or heritage as hard as it would certainly be....

Having been healed

"Thank you" Logan says to the drow preistess after she has healed him. "You have nothing to fear from us, of that I can assure you. We simply saw someone in peril and came to assist. Hopefully they wont bother you again for some time. I have met some Drow in my time, most would have anything to do with "outsiders", you seem different thou. Can't place my finger on it, but your demeanor is different from others I have encountered."

Logan stands up and then offers his hand to both Brianna and the Drow to help them to their feet. He then goes over the body of the drow he got to surrender and takes anything from him that maybe of use, swords, daggers, arrows and bolts, potions, maps, coin, gems even offering some up to the drow they were attacking.

He looks over the weapons the two drow he was engaged with were wielding. To see if they maybe better suited for him than his current weapons or maybe as backups.

Overlooked

"Take heart, noble Dwarf," says Lorae coming up to the others, "Tall people tend to overlook their shorter peers."

"Brianna, Xuor is scouting the area and Sarai is aiding the father of this Drow family. Where Roscoe is, I have now idea, he had been coming this way, only he never made it here."

Coming Together

The Drow family is reunited. Father, Mother, teenage daughter and a young boy and girl.

"We thank you from the bottom of our hearts," says the Drow Priestess, "I will pray that Elistraee watch over you for your kindness. I will also give you warning that there are 4 groups of Drow that now roam the Cormanthor, We of House Auzkuvyn have come to make new homes in the Forest, we are nomadic. House Jaelre, who these drow were a part of, who now hold the Old Elven Court as theirs. Then there are the Spider-kissers, who cluster around portal to the Underdark, hoping to create unrest enought to take back their cities and houses. Then there are the Underdark Raiders, they come out to raid and then return back to Underdark.

"While we try to stay to ourselves and wish no ill will to the inhabitants of the areas about the forest, The other Drow have made peaceful interactions almost impossible.

"On another note, pick carefully through the loot, some of it may be taken from the legendary hidding places of Elven magical items."

She nods to each of the group and then she and her family move off into the forest and are soon gone in the shadows of the great tress, almost as if they blended into those shadows.

Back in trouble together

"So, old friends, we seem to be back in the same old situation."

Sarai is a tall, slim, young human woman, dressed in travel worn leather and wools, that appear to cover armor underneath. She carries a very fine bow, which she used with some effectiveness. Her olive colored skin indicates a possible southern heritage.

"What's new?"

Apologies and Greetings to Old Friend

"Ah" Brianna spins around to find the Dwarf behind her. "Well meet again. Your assistance is this matter was most appreciated."

She turns again and the sound of a familiar voice. Her eyes lighting up and her smile widens. "Sarai, I am glad you finished up your other business. You arrival was also most fortuitous."

"Logan and Highnar, this is Sarai. Sarai this is Logan and Highnar." Brianna points respectively to each as she names them. "Now, we have one more out in the woods, Xuor who is a woodsman or whatever they call them here.":

Gathering Together

"Good to see you Highnar, and Sarai. We need to gather the the Drows' belongings and I can at least do Detect Magic. Strip them of every thing, then we can gather it in different piles and look for magical items."

"Be careful, as I know there are poisoned weapons among there things."

Brianna

Brianna helps to strip the dead Drow of anything of value. Weapons, pouches, jewelry, and other bits and pieces. One wears a cloak that strikes her fancy and she takes that too. She still hadn't been able to replace her clothes left behind in Peradyse. Days spent traveling overland off the beaten track and all to short sojorns in any villages or towns precluded her ability to do so. She touches the blades only by their handles. be it sword or dagger. Unfortunately their bow were to short and she really didn't like crowbows too much.--they took to long to reload. to be more than a one use weapon in an ongoing fight.

She keeps a wary eye out on the surrounds even knowing Xuor is out and about somewhere out there. IT was always the problem in woods and these were especially thick. You just couldn't see very far. She wished for the waide open spaces of the grasslands where you could see for miles. But that was not her current reality. This was so she remained alert to the sounds and hints of movement not explained by her campanions actions.

"What next?" she asks to no one in particular.

Save a Dwarf, ride a Human.

Highnar watched as Brianna and the rest sorted through the dead Drow things and did place that which he too had retrieved into the growing pile.

“I dinna want any of them foul weapons of these dark ones, poison, bah, that not be the way of fight’n and I shall be hav’in no part of them. But if’n there be something of use to me, other than weaps, I will gladly be accept’n from youse. Also as my Goat of a mount is gone I be need’n a ride”.

(OOC: ok I an assuming that everyone but Highnar still has a horse and that he is the only one without transport so to speak.)

A request for a ride

Logan over hears Highnar and turns back in his direction and say, "You are welcome to ride with me on my horse if you wish until we find a mount for your own."

Going back to the loot that is being gathered, logan carefully goes over the swords the Drow had on them and were using during the fighting. He turns to Lorae and Brianna and asks, "I can tell good quality stuff when I see it and hold it. But I know nothing of magic. I like these, as he shows them the sword the drow he captured had and 2 others that had been gathered up, as they are light and very well balanced but they have a strange feel to them. Can either of you tell what it is I am sensing from them as to what kind of swords they are?"

Brianna

Brianna shakes her head. "Lorae is a magic user. Where the other one is that was with us I do not know. He was on his horse as we moved forward. "Lorae if you would sheck these out I will go get my horse and look for Roscoe." Brianna heads back the way she enter this area to find ShadowBane grazing by the side of the rode with her red mare alongside of him. She then looks for Roscoe who was last seen closing us when she jumped off to investigate the screaming.

"Roscoe! Roscoe! Where are you?" she calls out loudly

Helping out

Sarai also helps with the sorting of the drow things, greeting old friends with smiles and warm claps on the shoulders and fore arms, and new companions with knowing nods of those who have survived a battle together.

She will do her best to help evaluate the drow equipment as well, having some experience doing such things, and then she will share her observations with the group.

Anyone knowledgable in such things will note her making small signs of blessing to Tymora as she offers thanks for their success - she doesn't look like a cleric, but clearly adheres to the familiar faith of most who spend much time on the road.

Drow and Elven

Lorae helps with the sorting and thanks Sarai for her assistance.

What they end up with is 5 piles, Drow consecrated, Drow and Elven magical and none magical.
