Lorae

As Logan had shared with her, she had replied in kind. Now she spoke again. Lorae looks to Logan after his second speech.

"Logan, you will be welcome wherever I am, and as far as my people, if you mean the Elves, then what I have seen and learned of you in our passed months together has shown me that you could be an Elf Friend. As far as others of my bloodline, as I am not entirely elf in truth, some might kill you, just as they would kill me. My bloodline also bears Darkness in it."

As far as your marks are concerned, if the deity that gave them to you is good, then why hide them. Being marked by a God or Goddess is a mixed blessing, as you stated there were those in your world who would have killed you outright at the sight of them, but this is another world, who would know what those marks mean. Treat them as a Blessing and they may just become that.

Now you need more to eat, like me, and if we wait too long, Brianna and Highnar will empty the pot of stew and the ale keg. She stands and waits for Logan to follow.

Yes more food

"Yes, you are right Lorea, this is a different world and I'm still learning what this world is about." Logan says as he stands to join his friend. "And you are are correct, more food is called for as I am a fair bit more hungry than I had thought I was earlier. Funny how good food will do that, huh?" Logan says as he chuckles a bit and walks back to the inn with Lorea happy he again has made more friends. "And just so you know, Paladin on my world is a God of Good, but it is for far more sinister reason people want to kill those who bear his mark."

Lorae

Lorae goes back in and to the table where the others sat and looks into the stew pot. "I was right, Logan, barely enough for us. We will be cleaning the pot with bread in the end." She chuckles.

She does take another part of a bowl and orders a cider. In the end she cleans her bowl with her bread and sits back satisfied. For now she just listens and coversations begin to wind down for the night, morning would come soon enough.

The Next Day

The Inn finally settles down, the locals go home and the floor of the common room is covered with palettes and hay brought from the stable to make suitable cushioning for those who would be spending the night.

It was a warm enough night that blankets were only needed to provide a barrier between hay and body.

The small of fresh bread baking in the ovens and bacon frying in pans was enought to wake the sleepers in the morning. Many hands helped to reload the hay into the wagon that brought it, and the palettes were stacked away in a shed in the back of the inn.

Brerakfast consisted of porridge, fresh bread, cheese, slabs of thick bacon, and hard boiled eggs. At breakfast were some travelers, some refugees and the intrepid band of adventurers.

Ok bring out the Magic :)

With the coming of this new day Highnar found himself refreshed and ready for a good breakfast. Once seated at the same downstairs table as from the night before the dwarf found that breakfast here in this town consisted of porridge, fresh bread, cheese, slabs of thick bacon, and hard boiled eggs. With a large mug of ale to hand he began to eat and as the rest of the group joined him he greeted all warmly.

Then with the full group finally together he felt the time was right to bring up the subject of the items found.

“So my friends I be think’in it ist a good time to once again be looking over them items we’vin finding in our battles. What say ye all?”

With that spoken and a four stacked bacon egg cheese sandwich to mouth he awaited their replies.....

Brianna

Brianna was up early to check on her horses to see haw they were going over them carefully for any bumps or bruises she may have missed yesterday. Satisfied with their condition she pays the stable boy extra to give then both a bath and then groom them thoroughly.

Returning to the inn she was just n time for the tables to be set, "I'm Famished just bring lots of everything. What I don't eat other will.

Brianna does watch Highnar build up layers of bread, eggs, cheese, bacon until it almost fell over. Then he picked it up and attempted to eat it. "I say two to one Highnar is going to drop t least three things out of the tower of food. Any takers?"

While Highnar bites down on her towering "sandwich" Brianna says, "Good idea we need to go over it and get it checked out by those who can read magic. We also have things from an earlier run in with the Drow of items that some of you newer people might be interesting in. No good must sitting in a bag when it an be used."

A new day....

Vatta had her fill of the food and limited herself to only a few mugs of ale and retired once she saw that everyone was settling down for the night. She slept peacefully and arose in the morning well rested from the day of slaughter and the night of celebration.

In the morning she rose, washed up a bit before sitting down in the common area and having a little bread and cheese and only some cider to wash it down. As she ate she watched the ones other than their group who had gathered here in the Tavern.

So my friends I be think’in it ist a good time to once again be looking over them items we’vin finding in our battles. What say ye all?” Highnar said.

With that spoken and a four stacked bacon egg cheese sandwich to mouth he awaited their replies..…

Brianna does watch Highnar build up layers of bread, eggs, cheese, bacon until it almost fell over. Then he picked it up and attempted to eat it. "I say two to one Highnar is going to drop t least three things out of the tower of food. Any takers?"

Vatta laughs and shakes her head at Brianna, “No .. no easy money here.”

While Highnar bites down on her towering "sandwich" Brianna says, "Good idea we need to go over it and get it checked out by those who can read magic. We also have things from an earlier run in with the Drow of items that some of you newer people might be interesting in. No good must sitting in a bag when it an be used."
Vatta nods and with a look around to see who else might be watching, she pulls out the few things she found at the battle site, especially the things she found on that large orc whom she finally took down with about a dozen of her arrows sticking in him.

“Here is what I have… anyone who can use it is welcome to take it,” she offers with a shrug, “If not.. I can always see what the local weapon smith might give me for them.”

She guesses it would be best if she knew what they were before she tried to sell them, otherwise she might loss a lot in the transaction.

Rise and Shine.

The scholar priest of Oghma had a hard time getting out of bed that morning... apparently he had one two many pints that evening. His head was splitting and he wished that there were some form of spell that could cure a hangover. He made a mental note to consider researching just that very thing when he had the time, but the memory of Vatta's wisdom popped into his head just then, reminding him that knowledge is not everything. Perhaps, he would be better off keeping his alcohol use moderate, then there would be no need to waste such valuable moments of life pondering the secret remedies of a splitting mind.

After the mystic theurge had prayed to his patron god for guidance in his quest for knowledge, he studied his spellbook carefully, readjusting his mind to the powers of the arcane. Once that daily ritual of his had been completed, he donned his robe and cloak, gathered up his belongings, and headed off to meet his allies in the common room of the inn. They had a jump start on the day it seemed, and were piling and dividing the spoils of their most recent victory against the hordes. He caught Vatta's eyes and smiled pleasantly. He felt rather comfortable in her presence, after all, she had been his bodyguard during the last campaign. "Good morning, m'lady. I hope your sleep in the hay was as pleasant as mine..." He smirked as he pulled a piece of straw from his messy hair.

Lorae waving him over towards the plunder made him glad he had been so studious this morning, as he would likely be indentifying the nature of many articles. He fastidiously began reciting what he could determine about the unknown magical findings, be they minor or marvelous in nature.

The dwarf's sandwich

As Hignar balanced his four layer sandwich, slowly bringing it to his mouth, he could hear Brianna and Vetta taking bets on if he would be able to wolf it down or drop it all. To no doubt the amazement to all within 5 bites the sandwich was gone and not a piece dropped. With a huge grin, his teeth and lips covered in egg yolk, he turned to them.

“So’s which ones of ye two did win ya’s bet, as you be see’in that I finished”

As the dwarf settled back in his chair stomach for the moment filled he watched as the magic items were brought out.

“Well I be see’in a few things I could be ausing first of course be that them there two rings the one of the Ram and the other of Evasion. And lastly, now doin't none of ye be laughing now, but mayhap that there Stone Horse as it be more obligining to me commands then yon beast ya have so far saddled me with.”

With his choices announced Highner sat back to await the choices of the others.....

Lorae and Game Post

After Cerric identifies said magic pieces.

"As a Spellcaster, Cerric, you might like the one Amulets of Natural Armor. Highnar, the mount you have is very smooth, but you can try out the Stone Horse in any case. Once again, we need to make 3 choices on the magic items and then hope that each gets something they want. If we do it like before it seemed to work ok. How about drawing straws to see who gets to go first from their list."

"Since there are a number of magical items that can only be used by Cerric or myself, then I think they should be taken as group stash as then constitute things that could be used to aid any in the group, the scrolls and the wands. The rest is up for grabs."

Lorae then gets up and goes over to gather some straw. This her cuts into lengths and carries back to the others.

"Let's draw straws." She hold them in her hands so that the look all the same length.

After each takes a pick they lay them on the table
As the staws and picked and laid out on the table Brianna's has drawn the longest, Cerric is second, Highnar is third, Logan is fourth, Vatta is fifth and Lorae is sixth.

"The second choice will go in reverse order," says Lorae. "Only to be fair to all."

"But before we start picking we should go out and checkout the dark horse of the magic items, the Stone Horse. That way Highnar will know if he wants it or not in the first three of his picks."

Choices?

(OOC: DM you probably missed my post in Q&A so I will assume all the stuff is together there. )

Vatta moves over to look over what Brianna has laid out there. She recognizes some of the items and raises a brow looking at her.

:”Some of these are very nice,” she says lifting the edge of the Cloak, “and I admit I could use a couple of these.. But…” she pauses and looks again at Brianna in wonder.

“I would feel amiss if I took any of these without compensating you for them,” she shakes her head, “these were not from the latest battle in which I participated.. It would not be right for me to accept these when I was not a party to the battle in which they were earned.”

She sounds strangely noble in her statement, one might wonder if she were truly a thief. Still Brianna can see her touching some of the items on the table (cloak, climbers kti and thieves tools), obviously desiring them.

Her longing glances were ended by the arrival and greeting of Cerric.

"Good morning, m'lady. I hope your sleep in the hay was as pleasant as mine..." He smirked as he pulled a piece of straw from his messy hair.
“Good morning,” she greets him with a broad smile, “and yes the accommodations were better than most I have had.” She chuckled a bit remembering times she had slept in a sewer tunnel with a dagger in her hand.

“I hope the libations last night will not be cause you discomfort this morning,” she grinned as she looked at his face closely; something about his eyes must have told her that he might be suffering from a hangover.

Vatta follows him over to Lorae and the stack of items from the battle. She looks them over appraisingly. On the gems and jewelry she can offer her estimation of their value and maybe a little on the magic items, but her expertise is limited in that area.

Vatta will express an interest in the Ring of Evasion, and some of the scrolls (invisibility, haste) and even in the potions as her supply is low. She will abide by Lorae’s choice of drawing straws and pick one when one is offered.

“Cerric, is this the one that you pulled out of your hair earlier?” She chuckles.

Brianna

"Vatta, You are correct we took this is a battle against some drow, however we have all chosen what we wanted and none wanted these things. Perhaps in lIeU of something we found this time that you have earned a shar of, you can choose what you want of these items that you are interested in. There are many things yet unchosen even from the earlier loot."

Brianna respected the woman's reasaoning for not wanting to take something from this earlier loot. But for Brianna i made no difference if she chose form the current items or the earlier ones.

"I will discuss it with the others, it makes the best sense that people get what they can use and will improve their chances in battle or other encounters."

Listen up those of you who were with us when we took on the Drow, what doyou think about letting someone who was with us this time choose their share from what we have left over formt he drow. There are some things Vatta is interested in and honestly I don't care so long as the person who gets it can use them to beneif. The better each of us is the better the group is. Anyway, that is what I think, what do the rest of you day. We are all parnters in this."

Items,Items, Items

Sitting down with the rest of the group for morning meal Xour has the waitress bring him a couple of slabs of thick fried ham and a pint of ale. then looking over the magic haul from yesterday and from the eailer drow encounter he looks for anything he feels may benifit him.

OOC:I have a question here about stacking magic for armor class I seem to have forgot and I don't know much about 3 and 3.5ed can a ring of protection be worn along with an amulet of natural armor. If yes and no one wants the +2 amulet Xour will use it with his +2 ring if not he will siggest that he takes the +3 amulet and puts his +2 ring in for someone else to use for the +3 amulet will increase his AC to 20.If he can stack the ring and +2 amulet he would go to 21. Please let me know, Thanxs. PS also since this is the first treasure that has been distributed since I joined this game how do you handle the coins of gold, Platinum, silver and such do you divide it up equally between all characters or is it handled some other way.

Bic:So he asks about the two Amulets and what anyone thinks and then he also lays his eyes on the Ring of Evasion and ask about it. Then outside of the magical items he lays he eyes on both the Brass Mug set with Dark Green Jade 600
Gold and Ruby Ring 4000 he would like the brass mug to actually drink from with a little flair and the ring would look good on his finger so he looks and waits to see what others want and to see if they agree to what he wants.
