Devon

Seeing how Magic Missiles hit unerringly, he lets loose another volley at the dragon, ensuring that it would not get away alive to grow and instill fear in others.

Lorae

Sensing the condition of the Dragon, Lorae called out, "Brianna, Xuor, and whoever else wants to, finish him."

She then turns and moves to the tree, hoping that Alexandria was already on her way to the hole in the tree. She saw Flame dart that direction and wondered at reason for his intense concern.

Alexandria.

Alexandria begins moving towards the tree where Flame had darted. She had been so caught up in her multiple thoughts she had been unable to decide what to do. However, with Lorae's call that the dragon was near dead, she decided it would be best to move toward flame. However, her sword was still drawn, and in hand, shield in the other, lest a new threat appear.

Brianna's Battle Cry

Though just a juvenile Red Dragon, he hit Brianna with so much force she flew through the air and that was no mean feat. Unfortunately Brianna was hit but fortunately she got hooked by only one huge claw that tore through her armor and flesh. She could feel the burn of the wound and the blood flowing warmly from it.

Brianna did as she had been trained by her instructors, to fall from a running mount or a stricken horse’s back and roll and rise again to be ready for battle or to grab another mount. She rolled into a ball in the air as much as she could. After she hit she rolled to lessen th impact as much as she could. None-the-less, her breath whooshed out with the force of the impact, Brianna had to take a breath before anything else. Even as she sucked air into her lungs she rolled to her feet and stood with a wince. Her thought was, "Amaterrana, give me strength." Her actions were to stand and her intentions on standing, were to move into battle again..

"Brianna, Xuor, and whoever else wants to, finish him." Lorae called out, unnecessarily for Brianna. She took up the great dwarven axe at her side and moved forward to strike the fleeing dragon. She charged the beast trying to prevent it flying away since it was limping badly. Taking aim at the jointure of wing and body she attacked with all the power she could muster. The mighty axe blade glittered in the dapple sunlight as its swing was punctuated with an Amazon battle cry.

Soronuume

Still holding the storm Soronuume watched closely as the juvenile red moved away from the charred tree. The wood elf took a breath and made her way to the tree, if any forest denizen lay wounded within she would give what aid she could. Nearing the tree she looks up to cloud filled skies and calls down a third lightning bolt. The blue white electricity streaks down from the sky hurtling towards the dragon.

As the lighting crackles in the air Soronuume slows her advance. With amber eyes she studies the surface of the charred oak searching for some sign of life.

(OOC: Call Lightning Storm: 3/9 bolts have been called)

Game Post

The fllening dragon turns his head towards her tormentors, the fouls humanoids that had so hurt it. It prepare to breathe fire, it lashes its tail trying to seep away any attackers. Two more of Xuor's arrows in rapid succession cause the beast to collapse to the ground , it legs folded up beneath, but there were twitches.

Flailing it wings in an attempt to fly, Devon's magic missle strike it unerringly, and it screams agains, then Alexandria's last bolt of light hits just before Briann's axe slams into it where the joint of the wing joins the body. The great dwarven waraxe cuts deeply. The wild slashing of the red'a tail falters and finally stills. Fortunately Devon and Xuor used ranged weapons against the grat beast juvenile though it was. Back at the tree.

As Alexandria reaches the tree Flame pops his head out of the hole about 8 feet up, and calls out to her, "Here! Help, Precious."

The tree has a low branch that might help Alexandra reach the hole, though she will have to climb up without anything in her hands.

Lorae

Lorae comes up to where Alexandria seeks a way up the heavy trunk of the tree that the red dragon had so scored by great racking claws and scroached by hot dragon breath. "Here, let me boost you up. The red dragon is finished, and those there can make sure of that."

Lorae sheathed her sword, "Let me give you a leg up as soon as you're ready." Lorae was careful to keep to the far side of the great boll of the massive tree keeping it between the escaping dragon's path.

Alexandria.

"Thank you Lorae. Your kindness resembles that of the Moon Maiden herself." Alexandria sheathes her weapon and places her shield on her back, and allows Lorae to give her a boost so that she may look into the hole where Flame's voice is coming from.

Game Post: What the Oak Holds and Dragon Slayers Bold

With Lorae's help Alexandria can easily look inside the hole. There is not much light when Alexandria's head fills the opening of the hole in the tree, but with her dark vision it is like day inside. What she sees is Flame sitting beside a second dragonette who lays limp in the bottom of the hole. There is not much difference in the two at first glance, but errant bits of sunbeams reflect off her gleaming body revealing a difference. Where Flame is bright red, seemingly over a metallic golden base, This one is the red orange of a padparasha sapphire, over a similar metallic golden base. (Think of the crayon color red orange.)

"Please heal her!" piped Flame patting the other dragonette with a front foot.

Not so far away the Devon, Soronuume, and Brianna continue their attacks until the Dragon no longer twitched. True to their nature the red was arrogant and over confident his youth lead to his demise.

Flame..?

"Oh dear. Flame, what have you gotten yourself into this time? Who is this?"

Alexandria reaches her hand in so as to grab the young dragon who looks very hurt. Assuming it's compliance, she slowly brings it to her lips, giving it a brief kiss, while whispering, "May the power of the Moon Maiden flow through me, into you, granting you a new vitality."

Game Post: Kiss and Heal

The moment Alexandria had her out sof the hole Flame was on her neck with his tail wrapped about it for stablity while he leaned over her shoulder and part way down her chest. In the dappled sunlight Alexandria could better see her patient. On first seeing Flame, she could have called him a refined and tiny copy of a dragon, but compared to this beauty, he was more strudy as a male, where she was all that was delicate and graceful.

Who is to say it was the kiss or the healing or both, but the little dragonette that Flame called Precious, stirred and lifrted her head. Her large eyes opened, and had she lashes, the would have been long and curled, as it was bright golden eyes peered out tentatively.

"Is it gone," same this soft, tiny voice, "pretty lady?"

Pretty Lady? Why thank you.

"If by it you mean the big dragon who was terrorizing this location, then yes my little one. It is gone. We have vanquished it, and in no longer stirs. But little one, what has happened to you? Are you okay?"

Game Post : Sniff--Beware, Dragon Tears are Addictive

"Flame and I were....ah....playing around....and he tried to catch us and eat us.

Alexandria could see the glisteniung of tears in the bottom lids of her tears. It was very unexpected and it tugged at the strings of her heart.

She snuggled into Alexandrai's chest. "you are nice and soft."

Meantime Lorae lowered the Drow priestess to the ground and began reaching into her knapsack. She pulled dout another such pouch and began stuffing it with a couple towels and what looked to be a silk scarf.

Lorae came up beside her and handed her the knapsap and helped get it over her head and one shoulder. "Put her in here as soon as you think she is ready to travel. You can carry her like some women carry their babies in slings made of large scarves, or shawls tied over one shoulder."

You poor child.

"How terrible. You poor child, feel free to take shelter in my warmth, and know that Eilistraee watches over you, whether or not you choose to accept it. As you nestle in my bosom, know that you nestle in the bosom of the Moon Maiden."

Taking the cloths from Lorae, and placing them around her so that her left arm is still free to grab her sword, should worse come to worst.

"Flame, you are welcome to remain with me to watch over your darling here. However, she is still weak, and so she will remain here with me until I deem her ready to engage in strenuous activity, such as flight and other things. Understand?"

Addressing Lorae, Alexandria asks, "So where exactly were we going again?"

Dragons, dragons everywhere......

Devon watched silently and out of sorts, the interaction between his new found comrades and the miniature dragons.
He was a bit confused and bewildered about the red one named Flame. Where he was from, red dragons were evil and as far as he was concerned to be killed on sight. This one, however, seemed to be known and friendly to his companions. Well, he at least had a hand in saving Flame's friend. Seems like a week for firsts. First elves then dragons (well small ones anyway). His predjustices were being brought down one by one.

"Is the female dragon going to be all right? Briana, is Flame alright? And what are we going to do about this carcass? This one was pretty young. If nothing else one of his clutch mates or even his mother may catch the scent of this on the air and attempt to avenge his death to win the rights to inherit his horde, territory, and lair."
