Nice

Devon smiles, happy with the invitation, "Sure, a glass of ale would hit the spot with me. Now that my horse has been off loaded, I'm riding him back. I didn't realize how deep the town went in. That was a long walk."

Devon sits and chats with the girls and has an ale or two before going back to the inn with Lorae.

Lorae

Lorae had the serving boy wait for their order, she wanted the food fresh and hot. She had gotten rooms for them both, and alerted the cook she would want some fresh fish, if she had any and beef, or venison, vegetables lightly roasted and not boiled to mush. As soon as Devon appeared throught the dcoor she nodded to the boy who arrived at the table with a pitcher of hot mulled cider, some freshly baked roll, a tub of butter and some cheese.

"Dinner will soon be here," she announced to Devon, as he sat down to the table. The next thing the boy brought was a small buckle of hot water and some towels she Devon and Lorae could wash their hands.

"So, Devon, what did bring you to join us this morning? I caught snatches sof your story throughout the ride, but never got the whole thing all together. It will make the wait for food less wearisome."

Alexandria.

"Some tea for myself would be wonderful. It helps to calm the senses, and relax the mind. Something that I am in need of right now."

Alexandria smiled though, a bright and cheery smile. "And Devon, I admire your compassion. Coming to give us your company, if only for a while, was a very generous offer, and I thank you for it."

Devon

"It's no problem, Alexandria. It's just a shame they had to be that way about your beliefs. I'm almost sure if it was a human paladin in shining armor with the same beliefs, they would have let him or her in. Judging a book by its cover is the act of a small, shallow mind.
There are drow in my homeland, too. The evil ones are actually in the minority there, but so are the drow. The dragons there have hunted them down almost to extinction."

Devon gets up after drinking his ale and mounts his steed.
Turning his horse towards the women he says, "Sorry, I can't stay longer but Lorae ordered a big meal and I better get back if I want it hot. Sleep well and be safe."

With that he clicks his tongue twice to get his horse into a trot back to town.

************************************

When he got back to the inn, He notices Lorae sitting at a table loaded with a good variety of food, and good thing too for he had worked up quite the appetite.

"Hey Lorae, good choice in vittles, looks good."

Devon washes his hands in the bucket and then looks up as Lorae addresses him, "So, Devon, what did bring you to join us this morning? I caught snatches sof your story throughout the ride, but never got the whole thing all together. It will make the wait for food less wearisome."

"Ok, It's kind of a long story though. My father wanted to send me to the Mage's University in Sebria, the largest city in Genesica. Although I can read very well, books are not my thing and I would not have it. I was able to teach myself to control my powers and hone my casting skills until I could give even one of those rich, bratty, University graduates a run for their money in a mage's duel.
When I turned 18, my father gave me This map of Faerun."
Devon pulls out an old and worn map and opens it up for her to see it, "Father had called in a few favors with a loremaster friend of his, Edgar Magernot. The cartographers and loremasters poured over tomes of history and legend and picked each others brains for information on Faerun to make the map. As accurate as they could make it, the map still has its flaws. My father marked specific locations to visit in Faerun and tasks to perform in each location. He figured I was old enough to make it on my own when I finally decided to leave and so he gave me the map and told me 'to try and escape this wretched place and make your way back to your ancestral homeland. When there, follow these instructions.' Five years later, my mother and father among many others died in a surprise dragon attack from *Sver'ir*, which is Draconic for 'Dark One', and his second son Darmatair as a payback hit for Wolvertain. I feared not for my life and joined the fight against the dragons. Sure that I would lose his my in the fight, I rushed forward in close battle with Darmatair and fought as if I knew for a fact there was not going to be a tomorrow for me. Getting as close to Darmatair as I dared to, I threw five daggers at the notoriously weak spot in a dragon's underbelly and throat. Two missed and three drove home into the target causing poisonous gas to spew forth from the wounds, unfortunately gassing me near to death but I was later saved by a cleric of Pelor from Kamosa, a small town to the north of Cabaya, a small city at the center of Genesica. As life continued for me, I lived with survivor's guilt wishing my own life would end. I began smoking a pipe at 30 years of age and made a living taking reckless, and death-defying dares for money, secretly hoping my next dare would end me. Thats how I came to be in Faerun."

Devon uses a fork to stab some beef and helps himself to some vegatables. He cuts some meat and eats it making sure his mouth is clear before beginning to speak again.

"Some Mage University students pooled their money together totaling 156,000 gp daring me to enter a portal rumored to be unstable and unreliable for use. I said,"If I am to risk this much, the least you could risk is half of the wager. For 78,000 gp I will walk through the portal and if I don't come back, consider me dead. At least I will have treated you to a vision few have ever seen."
They of course felt it was a fair request, and I stepped through. It took me all of a week to learn I had arrived in Faerun, and that made a believer in fate out of me."

Lorae

"My story I will tell when all who do not know it are together, even Brianna does not know the whole of it, and I believe that there is need for full truths."

She looks back to Devon, "So, you are mage talented and self schooled." she turned the subject from herself. "It will be best if we all share what we can do, tomorrow when we gather we can do that. I have ordered hardboiled eggs, bread, honey, and sausages hot a ready before dawn. We will bring them breakfast."

Lorae then reaches into her pocket and hands him a key, "You are in room 23 and I am accross from you in 22."

"Now let us not waste the food."

Game Post: Under Trees and Stars

Precious delicately takes what food is offered nibbles away until it disappears and neatly cleans herself.

"Nicssse," she hisses in her silibant speech. Well hiss sounds really too harsh for the silibent sounds she and Flame make, it was not like the warning hiss of a cat or snake, more a soft slurring of the s sound.

Flame drops down on Brianna's shoulder, wrapping his tail about her as he leans toward Precious. Brianna can feel his attention of the little female.

The sounds of the night are all to common and only the occasional calls of the guards calling out their "Alls well," from their guard positions could be heard in the distance.

Soronuume

Soronuume accepted the offered tea from Brianna nodding her thanks. She leaned back against the tree and inhaled the liquid's pungent earthiness.

"Much obliged Brianna," the wood elf replied. "I will remain on the forest floor, I prefer its gritty comfort."

As the night passed she helped herself to a few of the roasted vegetables. She would have preferred them raw and freshly plucked from the earth, but nonetheless it was much better than anything conjured from magic. Xu lay beside her, the panther had already eaten and had no interest in cooked meat. Soronuume watched her new companions and the dragonettes and smiled.

Game Post

Out of Town:

People find there places and settle for the night, Maybe the closeneses of the town gave them a sense of security so that no watches were set up. Distant calls of the guards on watch on the walls drifted over the sleepers. The sounds of the nocturnal dwellers were scattered about them, animal feeding on vegetation and other animals feeding on those animals.

With the greying of the eastern skies came the sounds of wagons as they made there way to the gates when they opened.

In Town:

Without the whole group togetrher it seemed that there was little to keep Lorae and Devon from their beds. The rooms were as the guard had stated, clean and comfortable. Devon is wakened by a knock on the door.

"Hurry breakfast is ready, and the gates will soon be opened."

Brianna

Brianna's recent years of a rather rough life had made her a light sleeper and she would wake quickly enough when something set off her senses. With Flame, Shadowbane and Soronuume's big cat, she figured the humans would be well warned if strangers approached their camp.

Uncurling herself from her bed roll and stood up and stretched. limbering up her muscles She got up set the fire going with a few small logs. To the others awakening with the coming of morning she called out

"I'm going to take a wash in the creek. Anyone want to join me?"

Not that she really looked forward to a cold wash, but she would wash regardless. Amazons were not barbarians.

"Flame, are you coming with me or staying?"

Lorae

By the time Devon gets to the commone room Lorae is stuffing the food she ordered into a haversack at her side. It disappears into it without changing the size or shape of the bag, as it nothing had been put inside.

"Our horses are saddled and ready," she says to Devon, turning to go out.

Precious suddenly turns back to Alexandria. "You come too." I will protect you." The also glowing red orange dragonette hovers in front of Alexandria. In the early morning light she reflects the light like a multi-faceted crustal.

Soronuume

The green elf awoke from her restful trance before the first light of dawn, like all of her people she only needed but a few hours of repose. She rose slowly and began assuming the poses of her morning meditation and exercises. Monving with each breath she assumed a new pose, held it and then moved at the next breath. Soronuume lost herself in the meditative breathing. Inhale. Exhale.

She continued her exercises until Brianna called out for all to join her for a morning bath. Soronuume took a few final breaths to complete the meditation and then turned to face the Amazon, the refreshing cool waters would be a welcome beginning to the day.Trusting Xu to watch over the campsite she made her way towards the creek to join the flame haired woman.

"A morning bath would be wonderful."

Alexandria.

Alexandria woke from her trance. Her prayers had been unusually strange last night... they were less relaxed, more antsy. The moon, though she could not see it, must be nearing its full point. Eilistraee was getting feisty. But, there was no reason for her to leak this out onto her followers, and she knew it. So, Alexandria aimed to offset the angst of the full moon with her kindness towards those around her.

"A bath in the creek would be wonderful. What a brilliant suggestion Brianna." A warm smile crossed Alexandria's face. Her eyes twinkling, Alexandria strongly resembled her goddess. Some thought that it was from her link to the moon maiden... Alexandria simply counted her luck stars.
