*sigh*

He might have to get himself involved with something... lol...

Oh! Maybe he'll get hurt and sexy Penelope will have to tend to his wounds... He could try the Indie thing

"Ow! That hurts!"

"Well where doesn't it hurt?"

"Here..." *kiss* "and here..." *kiss* "and... here..." *looong kiss*

See this is just Smoke's way of looking out for Alex's well-being

Awwww...

...she loves me!

Okay... there's Alex's update... Smoke's reaction possibly has him more freaked out than the ward itself, at this point and he's pretty sure that Smokie's not telling hims something important (Lucy! Jou got some splainin' to doooo!) but, atm, he's just "backing up his buddy"...

In the absence of his trusty 9mm, Alex has "instinctually" started weaving a shield and is loading up a little Soulfire just in case... hoping it's not necessary just yet but.... *shrug*... Don't freak out my cat, dude! It makes me twitchy!

P.S. Hmmmmm... Yeah... the Indy thing could just work...

I see...

There's been a bit of planning going on whilst I was asleep...

Well, I think I'll wait on posting just yet so that Nimu can put in Penelope's input *nods*

I wonder how Alice will take to being followed by a person and a cat... although, she'll probably be easily distracted by the cat before she notices the other person

Yep we be planning fools

Ohh! Alice and Kitty showdown!

*sets stage: Dust, tumbleweeds, clock in background about to chime high noon just as the sun centers between them and their eyes narrow on each other*

btw... if this comes to combat... how will that work with die rolls and such? Since we are all communist and lacking in offical leadership here?

Hmm

I dunno about combat... Alice is more likely just to pick Smoke up and start petting her, at least at this point

But as to dice... maybe we can unofficially and unanimously appoint an oblivious Sib-kun to be the dice roller!

Joking aside... I'm pretty sure we can trust each other enough not to fudge dice rolls... *paranoid glances back and forth*

That being said... in my opinion, the role play comes first and takes priority over the dice; if the roll is really detrimental and really out of place, then there probably should be the option to re-roll, although I do find that such rolls actually do sometimes fit the situation...

Trust the dice peoples, trust the dice

Oh!

*Okay erase western justice showdown scene, replace with image of Elmyra squeezing the crap out of Smoke*

Check!

Yeah I guess with all the char sheets available and since witchcraft is basically all high rolls win stuff it shouldn't be too hard for us to just do without having to rent-a-dictator.

Combat... dice... rolling with it...

Not so sure that it'll come to combat, myself... at least not yet... I guess we should kind of decide exactly how we'll be handling things like that, though, shouldn't we?

IMO, this whole this is much more about the story (and the storytelling) as opposed to "following the rules" and "fussing with dice rolls" to resolve combat situations, though. The character sheets and other "rules specific stuff" are there as points of reference as opposed to "hard and fast" statistics... *shrugs*... I'm fairly sure that, when it comes to combat situations and the like all of our players are more than trustworthy enough to just kind of "go with the flow" and "take their hits" as appropriate and/or "beneficial to the story telling"... That said, I'm not at all opposed to tossing out some dice rolls when/if we get to a point where the 'randomness' of a dice roll is better than just "winging it".

What was i talking about...

Where dice are involved...

I don't think there's such a thing as random... *gives the purple dice another paranoid glance*

But sure, I'm all for just rolling along with the story, as Eol suggested, with dice consultation only when it would be useful

And hopefully Smoke won't be too flat when Alice is done with her

Oh...right... stuffed with peanut butter... ;)

Thanks, Meri...

Anyhoo... as a for example to tha above talk of dice rolls, etc... in the present situation, given that Alex isn't privy to the "dream info" that Smoke has gotten from Janelle and has only really "caught a glimpse" of Alice, at this point, once he gets outside and sees that Smoke is chasing after what appears to be a six-year-old girl in a really weird halloween costume, I don't imagine he's actually going to start lobbing soulfire blasts at the little girl just because she's weird looking. Sooo, as long as Alice doesn't go all 'evil', Alex is liable to "back down" of the readying of soulfire and such... no combat actions taken (aside from maybe leaving the shield in place becasue... well there's a glowing ward, may cat's chasing a really freaky kid (who's all alone on the streets of Chicago, no less), and, holy-crap, that little girl's essence is really off isn't it?

Now, if Alice suddenly whirled around and tried to unload on Alex, I imagine there'd be a dice roll to see if he managed to dodge the attack at all or something along those lines... maybe, wouldn't even be necessary at that... I figure as powerful as Alice is, if she wanted to unload on Alex, he may not stand a grand chance of getting out of the way and might just take the brunt of the attack... *shrugs*... Like I said, though, I don't think dice will always be necessary but, if we come to a point where we'd be best off "truxting the dice" I'm, not at all opposed and more than trust everyone involved to be honest and non-fudgers!

Non-fudgers... Peanut butter purple eunuch monkeys... 1, 2, Kangaroo, eleventy-nine!

I done have posted!

Okay Penelope's post is up, and she's followed them out the door... something is telling me that wasn't the brightest decision she's ever made.

As to dice, I'm in agreement with Eol. My original understanding was that this was freeform so really I think we should just focus on the story and only use the dice when absolutely necessary.

Nope... not oblivious...

...but still meditational, Sib.

Owwwwwwwwwwwwwmmmmmmm... Owwwwwwwwwwwwmmmmmmmmm...

Judging from Nimu's last post, I think Alex may have just lost a client... Idiots!.... Good stuff!

Thought for the day: Alice isn't evil... she's just misunderstood...

LMAO

Indeedily doo!

For the record, Alex has "failed his insight check" where Alice is concerned... he knows that there's something not quite right about her and can pick up on the taint to some small degree but, due to having been drinking, lack of sleep, and the recent albiet pleasant distraction provided by Penelope, he's not 100% clear on exactly what he's looking at... Is this just some poor little Gifted kid who's been tainted by whatever through no fault of her own? Or... should I be worried about my cat?...
