And They're Off!!!!

I am assuming that the guard Captain has both Erevan and Craven in his office and is addressing them both. So now Erevan and Craven leave camp together. Will there be a intro to dicribe the Cleric, paladin and fighter?

There will be an intro, when you reach them. When i have time, probably moday, i'll post again, so yeah. If both of you wander around town, find the dwarf uy then ill post you leaving the town. that should work.

Thanks,

I'll add so more and get us to the city. Craven may be able to add some Sunday night but he's out of town with our scout troop this weekend. They've gone to some caverns in Pennslyvania to do geology merit badge. I took the troop there in 2003. So anyway it may be late before he gets back on.

So it couldn't be Tom, Dick and Harry....

Ok, now how do you say "Ighouc"? ig-awk? I-gawk? i-hawk? igawk?

I'd hate to have to start calling him Iggy, . If I were running a Gnome that could happen.

Rolls and the like...

Are we making the rolls? If so is it ok to do it via the dice roller program here. Don't want my boss knowing I am rolling dice.

Also how would you like us to portray that?

I mean for Perception I rolled a 15. I need under a 13 to perceive anything. So I am thinking I am greatly aloof at the moment. Maybe reading or something? Is that kind of the way you forsee it as well?

dice

I don't mind generators at all, in fact, i use them whenever i game online. Its much easier than finding my dice box. As for Roleplaying it.If you pass you spot whatevers coming, if you fail. Well, just imagine something, reading is good, i'm all for your roleplay.

Oh and Ighouc would be Ich-oo-k! My surname backwards.

I don't mean to make fun of your name.

Glad you have a sence of humor.

I'll try to post today, wasn't feeling well last night and still have a bad headache this morning. Went to bed early and then the headache woke me about 5:30am. Been up since and just now starting to feel better, 7:15. May start to watch tennis.

I'm confused, as usual....

In 2.0 we did perception as (Int + Wis)/2 and then roll under that on d20. I thought in 4th it is d20 + Perception skill score vs. a DC. How do we want to proceed?

Just to keep things rolling...

Ok. I'll go with that as I am the ranger and I am activitly looking around to track the Kobold and would be alert watching for anything. I rolled a 14 + 7 percetion modifier = 21.

First Encounter...

Can we tell which dragon the Dragonshield Kobold revere?
That could effect the magic used against them.

Because we are on the road and the Kobold come into the road I'll assume they are within 3 squares (15 feet) of us.

Also assuming that the three Dragonshield lead to attack the center of our line going toward the seemingly unarmed characters first. Erevan was last in line so he has a clear view of the two Slinger as they step out and hang back at the edge of the road to be able to use their slings.

Our order of march was Paladin, Cleric, Mage, Fighter, Ranger.

NOt sure Ody...

Unless there was some reason for us to look deeply into Kobold lore we probably wouldn't know much about the different types.

Now on the other hand if we used a certain type of magic against them and saw that it had no effect, then we would know more and be able to adjust our methods of evisceration.

So it depends on whether or not we can make a Monster Knowledge check (given any +, or -'s depending on type of knowledge and whether studied or not given the quest). With Arcana I can check to see this information and I have a +11 to do so. Looking through the PLHBK page 180 it looks like I would be going against a DC of 25 (for resistances and vulnerabilities). So I would need to roll greater than 14.

Thing I am wondering is whether or not we would have the time to do so. How long would a check like that take, my guess is it would take at least a move action. Considering I am moving currently to cast in the blast radius than it probably wouldn't be until my next turn.

Unless I am looking at it all wrong which occasionally happens...

Did Graven find anything in his books?

Well Graven was just studying Kobolds and it would benefit him most to pickup on something. Some sort of check would seem be fitting as to whether he notices anything beneficial.

For Erevan, he would not care unless they had special armor that resisted arrows. Range weaponeers usually hang back and are protected by melee frighter.
