Lazy halflings!

Apparently Dakarta has not updated his post yet. But I still need to know what you guys are going to do now. I was planning on giving my game update in 20 minutes... but I may have to hold off until a course of action is chosen.

Just so I'm clear

Is Daleel still planning on doing a bit of recon or are you guys diving full fledged into the investor deception? If he is going to recon the place is he going with you and being dropped off a few blocks away or... what?

In a perfect world

In a perfect world we'd go rent a coach, all ride in it up to five or six blocks away, then send Daleel over to investigate. Then after he got back and told us what was inside Argent and Thiferl would head one way, and the others would all find their own sneaky special way, we'd all wait for a predetermined signal, like a clock tower if their is one striking the next hour, or if we can all tell time by the moon really really accurately, and all jump into our roles then. But I don't want to step on anybodies toes by making them do this. And to roleplay the discussion out is going to take the rest of the month. So I would suggest we hash out the details in the coach on the way there. But maybe that's too cinematic. What do you guys think?

Yes

What Crowe said. Maybe one other person could join us as a bodyguard of some sorts. We should drop the halfling off earlier, and the sorcerer can get out on the other side of the coach perhaps?

We can't really be too specific until we know what is coming up. We'll drop the halfling for sure, and wait a bit for him to reach the destination.
If there are guards on either side of the coach, I'm sure the our caster could do his magic from within the coach, through a small window or something.

Agreed

The plan seems to be coming together nicely. Maybe the awkward guy with the sword can be the 'bodyguard' figure. I suppose if the DM is willing to allow it I could cast the spell from within the wagon, so long as I am within range and have line of sight.

Accepted

As you said, as long as you have line of effect to your target I see no reason why you couldn't cast spells from inside the coach. There would be a slight chance that they would notice you through the coach window if, for some reason, they happen to look that way. Otherwise you likely wouldn't be seen (at least until the effect occurred, if it is a spell they can trace the source of).

You can't really tell time all that accurately but the moons. You can pretty much tell hour by hour but not much better than that. There is a bell toll each hour. It originates in the temple district but could be easily heard from pretty much anywhere in the city.

Are there any other variables you guys want to shore up before I post a game update about this?

sneaky sneak

I'm all for the plan. So I'm sneaking to the warehouse, getting info about guards and possibly the cargo and returning to the coach to tell what I found out. Steelight are we going to do this by PM?

Well..

This new info definitely calls for a change in plan. From what we do know there are at least two people in the warehouse, but we don't know that for sure. The symbol seems to be our biggest clue, but I somehow doubt any of the Knowledge skills Echo has would be useful, perhaps if anyone has Know(Local) or perhaps even Know(Religion) if it is a holy symbol.

I'm open to suggestions, and the plan may still work, it just may require a more direct approach, like having the Dwarves knock on the door, luring a person out into the open.

Or we could just say damn the plan, barge in, weapons drawn, spells flying, and kick some butt and take some names..

Like I said, I'm open to any suggestions..

Knowledge Results

None of the knowledge skills any of you possess will yield anything significant about the symbol. However, general knowledge would reveal that it is likely the symbol of some merchant (meaning the merchant likely owns the whole of the warehouse, as opposed to just storing his stuff there).

I feel a little bad

The next couple days are going to be hectic preparing for my trip, and then I'll be gone for the month of August. As a party you're welcome to not use my idea of Thiferl knocking on the door. Or if you do, Echo might stay in the coach and be there as back-up in case Thiferl needs it. Steelight is welcome to dictate what Thiferl does, like I said in an earlier post, because I wont be here to dictate his actions, if fighting breaks out, Thiferl will be in the back healing people as they need it. He's pretty wise, he should catch on to subtleties, and maybe glances between guards and get the hell out of Dodge if he's by himself. Anyway, see you guys in a month, and hope all goes well.

hmm

Looks as if we're going with the pick the lock and hope the estimate of 2 guards is accurate strategy.

Still debating on whether or not Echo is planning to play along or continue with his own plan of charming whoever opens the door.
