The Rocinante weighs about 2460 tons without shuttles.

Shuttle's cargo cap is 12 tons. Even pushing the parameters to double that, would not be enough. Even if you used the one drive pod, the flow would be too uneven.

However if you were to fix the core, and use the reactor to create the grav-dampner bubble around the Firefly, it might work. It could get it moved but there would be a high risk of structural damage to the shuttles and the Rocinante depending on where you lifted from and how.

Then what do we need to fix the core even temporally. I want to move the ship closer to the Atmo for a number of reasons the main one being limited protection of course. Another good reason it will make the transfer of parts from the processor to ship that much quicker.

Atmosphere Processor is wide enough (300 yards at the base) but the first floor is at 60' up, second at 70, third at 80' etc. So it is just too big in height.

There have been some amazing posts and I hate to see the momentum lost. With recent events, however, I think it will be Tuesday before we see a post from Alacrity. I'll try to sneak one in for Willow tonight.

At least this week, I got some good news amongst the bad. My project is nearing the launch and so the travel requirement is dropping off sharply. I may actually have an after-work life again !

My brother passed away suddenly on Tuesday and I have been dealing with the "arrangements" and the assorted other things that need to be dealt with for a loved one's passing. The memorial service is Monday and I should be back after that.

About us Roger just do what you have to do ok. Rocinante is a game and can wait. You have the right to take care of Real Life first. I promise we will, or at least I will, be here when you return. Thinking of you, Vanandia, and your brood everyday.
