To Tann

Yes, Willow did not do a ship wide communication - it was direct to the Captain. In any case, Bowman had already told her it was Sloat.

Finally

Hectic time this year. But I have finally posted

And you are in a situation. If you haven;t read my post - do so now. Below is some details you need.

1) You have back up life support and heating. It is good for three days off batteries.

2) To fry both parts would have required a huge power surge and there was no warning sign of that - only a small flux periodically.

3) The Alternator is surge protected from within. The only way to fry it would be a surge outside the system

4) If you can patch the power to the communications, you are a day away from the mine so you can send a wave for help.

This is how it is

Wolf is facing a series of complex actions with a variety of Diffculty thresholds. Rebuilding the Grav Dampener is Formidable (75), rebuilding an Aft Alternator is Heroic (95). Finding the power problem outside the ship will just be Hard (55). Fixing it will be ... well you don't know yet.

Rolling complex actions you basically keep rolling your skill checks and adding them up until you reach the threshold. The number of rolls represents the number of hours taken to complete the task. If A botch is rolled (double 1's) then the difficulty level goes up by one level. Botch twice and you have a complete failure. Tann can choose to throw in any or all of his 6 plot points to any task to add a skill dice to the roll, but tell me ahead of time.

If someone directly helps Wolf then they can roll as well and move the time up. An example of direct help would be Bowman going out with Wolf to search for the power problem.

If someone helps indirectly then the two rolls are compared and the highest taken. An example of indirect help would be Sam assisting Wolf rebuilding the alternator. Sam can only assist, adjust the light, hand a tool, etc - he can't fix it at the same time.

There are some assets that allow you to add a bonus to someone's work (Leadership comes to mind).

You may transfer a plot point to a character to help them but there has to be an interaction. For Example, Willow steps up to where Wolf is working on the alternator. She puts her hand on his shoulder and smiles confidently at him (1 pp transferred).

So there you have it. Post if you got an idea or thought on how to help. I need to know if it is Andrew and Wolf going out or just Wolf.

Ok That helps :)

As far as Bowmen going out with Wolf at this point Wolf won't allow it for the reasons stated in my post. Helping Wolf from inside the ship while he is outside sure I'll take all the help I can get from him.
Now if it was Sam or another of the CREW that would be different of course, they would be allowed to e-vac with me.

Bowmen is long lost fam to Wyatt and a guest on the ship Wolf won't risk Wyatt's anger by getting him killed or hurt.

As far as rebuilding both broken units yes I will use his help as much as I can INSIDE the ship.

Now these Plot Points you mention, are they one time use Die or do I get them back over time??

Well thats my questions for now............

Plot points

Plot points are points you are given for playing your character well, especially use of complications but assets as well. Now the most you can have to use is 6 at any time but if you use them then you can get some back later.

Examples of Wolf earning plot points:

getting in the face of biggs when leaving the spaceport (Chip on shoulder)

Refusing to back down to union gang (tough as nails)

Fixing the hovermule brakes as you sped to the bank robbery

So you will get more over time. Everyone is such a great player in this game it is hard for me not to give them out.

Ok gotcha

In that case I will put 1 point into Finding the power problem outside the ship.

2 points into Rebuilding the Grav Dampener.

And my final 3 Points into rebuilding the Aft Alternator.

I can spilt them like that correct.
