No Post this eve

Just got off the bat with the MR Tann himself.

It seems he has lost his magical ways and will not be able to post.

When he will be able to post is unknown. I think we should give him till Wednesday and then post as if his robed and evil demons were frozen with fear and we hit them again... just my thought.

Tech will be out at his place Monday, he says look for a post Monday evening or Tuesday.

Game is in a holding pattern.

huh?

so not undead huh? Seems a Paladin would be able to recognize undead and not waste a round doing something that wouldnt work.

Also, she had her helm on her head; if you check her previous post when she stood up she tucked it under her arm. When the creatures burst the windows, the helm goes on first thing to free up her shield arm. I dont expect the damage she received to be negated or lessened, just wanted to clarify the helm thing.

undead

If they are not unded then that is a DM modification as I checked and they are listed as undead in the origional handbook.

DM please also confirm that although the rules state only one elemental may be conjured by a singel spell caster the one we face has conjured several. Also, according to the rulebook taking any action other than concentrating on maintaining control of the elemental breaks control. The caster attacked with a spell which certainly requires breaking concentration on teh elementals and so they should move to attack their summoner.

You must be Patient Grasshoppers

Teller Ok I missed that about the helmet. As such I will modify the damage later tonight as I have not done so yet.

As for Turning them and such I stated in the beginning of the fight that I would post the actual description of them from the book I'M USING and that would explain.
Keeper the only things I have modified is their hit points, AC and the damage they do. Everything else is the same.

As for the Elemental Control if you look around throughout the books, you as a book lawyer do at times Keeper, there are a lot of ways 1 Mage can control more then one Elemental AND not have to concentrate to do so.

Again at the end of the combat all will be explained within the storyline as always. Keeper you of all people should know by now that most times when what I do seems to be against the 'rules' actually is feasible within those same rules.

One last thing to everyone in the game. Though I am the DM and it's my game I follow the rules though I may modify them as needed. Never will I modify them to the point where it is unfair or so against you that you the players with your combined skills can never get out of a situation I put you in. I have not done so in 8 1/2 years and I won't start now.

However please remember I am the DM and it is MY game.

easy now

I put the smiley and thumbs up at the end just so you would not make the mistake of me attacking you as the GM. I even pointed out toseveral times that you do modify stuff and that it is what GMs do. However, sometimes we all make mistakes or overlook something so I was just asking.

Perhaps simply hitting him with pointy objects will work. Hmmm

Let me clarify

Tann,

I never accused you of cheating or anything like that, you are just meaner than I thought!

Of course it is your game, I wasnt accusing you of modifying the game to be unfair. I just thought that, to a Paladin, undead are sort of well known and that if she wouldnt have been able to turn them she should have known that, unless some special circumstances make turning them impossible at this time. I wasn't expecting to turn all of them but a couple would have been nice.

Well now to Plan B, sticking them with pointy things.

Apologies

Teller I did not think you were attacking me ok. Honestly most of my reply was directed at Keeper as he and I go back & forth like this quite a bit .

He and I have been like this since we first sat down to play this game as a table top game 13 years ago with a RL group that included Kyle also. He is how he is and I am how I am and we both do not take it personal and neither should you.

And I do cheat, I'm the DM of course, I have to cheat to try to make it better for you the players to keep your interest but it is all within the rules or a reasonable modifications of the rules.

And yes I am mean this is nothing yet for further info on my meanness check with Keeper, Kyle, Bri, or Ody. They have been with the game the longest in that order.

So Teller it's all good

Air Elementals....

Are these creature substantial enough to take physical blows? The manual says they have a "shell" of their element that needs broken to defeat them.

Next point: If fire consumes air, can these be consumed by fire? Would a Flame Blade for example cut and hurt them by consuming part of them to feed the fire of the blade?

Also..........

Are the elementals large or normal sized?

Because the Bhuts are clawed and fanged can we figure they are not using weapons, it's biting and pinching and hitting?

Answers & Clarifaction

Are these creature substantial enough to take physical blows? The manual says they have a "shell" of their element that needs broken to defeat them. Ok What manual are you using as I did not find that. In my manual it states they can only be harmed by weapons +2 or better and only by creatures with some sort of magical ability.

Next point: If fire consumes air, can these be consumed by fire? Would a Flame Blade for example cut and hurt them by consuming part of them to feed the fire of the blade? I don’t know try it and see (Hint DM here, not gonna help ya kill them )

Are the elementals large or normal sized? Medium actually

Because the Bhuts are clawed and fanged can we figure they are not using weapons, it's biting and pinching and hitting? Claw, Claw, Bite

Also Brianna you seem to have misread my post. Your coming from the communal bath area on the FIRST FLOOR down a DIFFERENT hallway then where Lothor is. Your facing 4 Bhuts total, 1 in the doorway in front of you. A second coming up behind it to join it and two others still raiding the kitchen area. Your not, as you posted, on the stairway between floors and you do not see Lothor.
You have time for two shots from the bow then it will be melee.
