Making it so hard LOL

Getting up to the Castle is very easy, drink the potions of flying and head up. Of course you'll have to fight your way through it's airborne defenders but it's still the EASIST way up, just not the SAFEST.

Unless

We're all flying up there in a loving wind blanket... Then it's easy and safe (one hopes).

Find The Hint......

Tann gave us a clue, let's search each others spell AND magic items. You may see something we miss in our own stuff.

Could the Wind Elemental ring do something?

One of you Ladies or Gentleman has the tools to get you all to the castles courtyard without having to fight through the Gargoyles or Dragon Air cover.
It may be other magic.

cor has air walk
ulthok has demential door
weaver has fly and animal magnetism
and a bunch of us have teleport

i can see a engineered plot using those;
scout w\\animals or familiars
plan to avoid or best rout of attack
use demential door/teleport/fly to get up to the castle
and chaous from their??

It could be as simple as...

Seems we don’t have a problem with flying since there are a supply of flying potions, so the problem seems to be the party being seen.

Sirene has the Veil spell memorized. I think this might work unless someone sees something wrong. Here is the details:

Veil
(Illusion/Phantasm)
Range 10 yds./level
Duration: 1 turn/level
Area of Effect: 20-ft cube/level
Saving throw: None

The veil spell enables the wizard to instantly change the appearance of his surroundings and party or create hallucinatory terrain so as to fool even the most clever creatures (unless they have the true seeing spell, a gem of seeing, etc.). The veil can make a sumptuous room seem like a filthy den; even tactile impressions conform to the visual illusion. Likewise, a party might be made to resemble a mixed band of brownies, pixies, and faeries led by a treant. If hallucinatory terrain is created, touch does not cause it to vanish.

Seems we could fly up there in a group, using the Veil spell to hide us or make us appear as a group of gargoyles for instance.

Just a suggestion from the Paladin.

I like it

But I wonder if the spell would move with us? If so, it could work.

I should

Seems like the spell would move as it mentions it could make the party appear as other creatures. If they wouldnt move, the illusion wouldnt be a very good one.

I think the Gargoyle thing could work, we would just look like a group of gargoyles which fly anyway so.

But will wait on DMs ruling on it.

Ruling

Yes as it states in the spell description it will move with you. As a matter of fact I believe the spell was recently used to make the party appear as Kobolds on the recent raid of the enemy artillery.

As far as will it work ya gotta try it. Just remember the most important thing..........

sounds Promising.....

We would need to stay away from the good guys so they don't attack us by mistake.

Ok, does anyone else see anything?

Friendly Fire

However, in our briefing it was said:

"The castle is guarded by both Dragons and Gargoyles; however, we will be throwing all Pegasus, Eagle troopers, and any other flight capable unit mainly at the Dragons as they only number 4-6 so the Gargoyles will be pretty much all yours.
Sounds like the Friendlies will be busy with the Dragons. But, if anyone has a better plan? Besides, no plan is without risk; once we get up there that will be the most dangerous.
