Next Move...........

Without having gone back to read what abilities folks have I'll ask. Does anyone have tracking or able to locate thingss?

We have the shawl and shoes so maybe a spell or sniff? (Rangers, Bards)

I'll check mine too.

Can anyone figure how to talk to the barbarian?

Should we let the Dwarv out?
Maybe Cor can speak to him for information?

Of course Ulthok will make a little fuss over Valene's things.

speak n spell

i have

Comprehend Languages (Reversible)
Level: 1 Schools: Alteration
Range: Touch Components: V, S, M
Duration: 5 rds./level Casting Time: 1 rd.
Area of Effect: 1 speaking
creature or written text Saving Throw: None
When this spell is cast, the wizard is able to understand the spoken words of a creature or read an otherwise incomprehensible written message (such as writing in another language). In either case, the wizard must touch the creature or the writing. Note that the ability to read does not necessarily impart understanding of the material, nor does the spell enable the caster to speak or write an unknown language. Written material can be read at the rate of one page or equivalent per round. Magical writing cannot be read, other than to know it is magical, but the spell is often useful when deciphering treasure maps. This spell can be foiled by certain warding magic (the 3rd-level secret page and illusionary script spells), and it does not reveal messages concealed in otherwise normal text.
The material components of this spell are a pinch of soot and a few grains of salt.
The reverse of this spell, confuse languages, cancels a comprehend languages spell or renders a writing or a creature's speech incomprehensible, for the same duration as above.

Looks Good...........

I'd just say that I don't know if the Wizard has to stay in contact in order to understand or just to touch once. I'd say check with Tann.

But that spell could be just what we need.

We Need To Learn..............

We really need to get as much information from these captives as we can.

Ulthok knows Orc and so does Sirene, but we need to keep Rayne from killing them before we can talk to them.

We need to find out if they know to whom the shawl and shoes belong. Do they know if it is the Good Dragon Queen?
How long ago did they take her away?
Where did they take her?
Did they take Valene with the Queen?
Is there passage to get there?

Why are the Orcs being held?
Can we use them?

Ok, what else do we need?

umm

Doesn't somebody have a helm of comprehend languages?

EDIT: Oh, he seems to be inactive... I knew I had seen that helm when signing up, hadn't remembered who had it.

Oh yeah I fogot that My bad

Ok I forgot Lother had that so he would have been able to understand.

Its gibberish... It sounds like a real language but the human is stark raving mad and this "language" is only known to him in his mind.

If I had remembered the helm I would have added it to my post.

Thanks.......

Well that will save a spell.

I don't think our Cure spells fix madness.

I may have Peri give him a little puff anyway just to put him in a Happy Place.

Stone Tell

Siréne has Stone Tell prepared. Do we think that might be useful in painting a picture of what happened? Like who the owner of the shawl was and where they went (or at least how they left and what direction they went)

A spell

I have the ability to cast Tongues. Could this be of use, or is it the same as the Helm?

Edit: We could also talk to the Orcs, who we seem to have forgotten about

------------------------
Tongues
Level: 4
Sphere: Divination [Alteration]
Range: 0
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 turn
Casting Time: 7
Area of Effect: The caster
Saving Throw: None

This spell enables the caster to speak and understand additional languages, whether they are racial tongues or regional dialects, but not communications of animals or mindless creatures. When the spell is cast, the spellcaster selects the language or languages to be understood. The spell then empowers the caster with the ability to speak and understand the language desired with perfect fluency and accent. The spell enables the priest to be understood by all speakers of that language within hearing distance, usually 60 feet. This spell does not predispose the subject toward the caster in any way. The priest can speak one additional tongue for every three levels of experience.

The reverse of the spell cancels the effect of the tongues spell or confuses verbal communication of any sort within the area of effect.

The Madness...........

If we can't cure the madness of the big human then we most likely won't get anything useful from him. But if we can get it to talk we may get something.

As for the Orcs, they are now a very important source for information. They need questioned. If they were brutalized by their companions we may get them to help as an act of revenge. Just remember they are the sworn enemy of Rayne so that adds a complication. Mischief can gain XP in roll play by reacting to them. It can also make good story. If she get out of hand Peri may have to puff her too, lol.

The Dwarv is very important too.

-------------
Stone Tell? I've never heard of that, but it sounds promising. This is the first clues we had to help find the Queen so I'm open to trying it. Your Wizard Sight worked so you are making great choices.

Do you think Peri's breath weapon putting the human in an euphoric state might cool the madness enough to get some information?
BTW.. My home internet went out yesterday so I couldn't can't post from home. I will away for a week without internet so I'll try to at least get some intentions up today while I'm a work that can be NPC'd by Tann.

We are off tomorrow so I'll be away from my work computer. Hopefully my internet will be fixed today.

Stone Tell

Stone Tell (Divination)
Level: 6
Components: V, S,M
Range: Touch
Casting Time: 1 turn
Duration: 1 turn
Saving Throw: None
Area of Effect: One cubic yard of stone

Explanation/Description: When the cleric casts a Stone Tell upon an area, the very stones will speak and relate to the caster who or what has touched them as well as telling what is covered, concealed, or simply behind the place they are. The stones will relate complete descriptions as required. The material components for this spell area drop of mercury and a bit of clay.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I agree, we really need to deal with the dwarf. First to figure out if he is friend or foe. Siréne has a lot of charm spells at the ready, so maybe we deal with him first to see what he knows? Then the orcs?

Euphoria may well be a different kind of madness, but it's worth a shot. Might jog him out of the state he is in.

Maybe the stone spell is the last step after we have talked to everyone?

Stone Floor?

Need to know if this room has a stone floor. The spell says the stone needs to be touched and the Queen may not have touched the walls.

Sirene has the most spells ready of anyone so she would be the most logical to do the casting.

I'd think to save time we might need to interrogate then all about the same time. We can switch up as needed.

Cor and Sirene might start on the Dwarv.
Ulthok and Roan on the Orcs.
Aliya and Weaver on the mad man. (Weaver could relate. lol)

Lothor keeps Rayne in check.

I'd say we confer and a group in character under Cor's direction. There he suggests the questions to be asked and then we each ask our prisoners. We can add questions as we see fit but that way we cover that basics.

So we should list questions here in Q&A and agree so Sir Sadaar can post them. It would be nice to be able to dialog with the prisoners but that would require Tann to address each question separately and create a rolling post.

We do that in table top but it's a bit tougher here.

This is a non combat encounter so far so it could work. It will just take a while to work through it.

And with me out next week Tann or someone could play Ulthok as the questioner. Just don't use any of his spells.

I may be able to follow on my company phone next week if my sister-in-law has a neighbor that has Wi-Fi I can access. She doesn't have internet.

And I might be able to call Tann and have him act for Ulthok.

Questions

Coming up with a list of questions makes sense. I'm good with that.
Siréne also has ESP prepared, I'm thinking that might be useful in this current situation...

Also, Tann, been looking over the prepared spell lists? Are they accurate/up to date? I remember having Siréne prepare Eyebite twice, she only cast it once but both are gone. Using the list here as a reference, can't really remember much further back than that. THANKS.

:-P

I regret that I have little to contribute at this point. Having only just been introduced I don't even know what questions need answering other than "Where is the queen and how can we find her?" Maybe "Is she weak to fire or anything like that?" would be an OK question, but like I said, I don't even know what we're up against yet.

Happy to behave IC according to the things that need doing though.
