A warriors thoughts and questions.

*First, Lothor would wear the ring - it gives him two magic rings. If it matters, his ring of regeneration is on his left hand and the new ring of free action is on his right hand. He also puts on the boots of striding and springing. He will dispose of his old boots.

*Lothor has a ring of regeneration - one HP per round, I think. Will the ring have brought him back to normal? The original plan suggested in post had called for another spell, but if it isn't needed I wouldn't waste it. So the question for our DM- Lothor might know the exact number of HP, but surely he would know if the ring seems to be doing enough?

*I like the idea of cremation, but if the elemental is already gone - do we have any way to accomplish it? I will let the rest of you decide this one - Lothor will follow your wishes.

*The hallway - is it slanted down towards the ice? Or away from it?

*A thought for the party - might the bad guy in the ice still be alive? If it is undead of sorts, will the ice kill it or simply preserve it?

Fire

If a high level party like our doesn't have a way to make a fire there is something seriously wrong.

...

Well, worse comes to worse we have enough strong people with durable enough weaponry that we could chop our way through if we don't want to risk a melt. It would take a while though, and I don't think we really want to be sitting that long.

If we do decide to melt it, I recommend going back into the throne room. It has a larger area, so the water would travel at a slower speed through there than in the narrow hallways.

Spy on melting ice

We don't want to take too long to melt the ice - after all we have been warned about the ballista and time. But is there a way to melt it slowly enough (and not drown) that we could see things as it melts. That way, perhaps we could see the frozen baddie before it thaws out and deal with it while it is still trapped, in case it still lives in its own undead fashion. Is it possible to summon another fire elemental? Does the spell give enough control to command it to stop if it spots something within the room? It then backs away, the water runs off, and we approach.

But any magical fire we use will be magnified in effect by the room. Would elementals be included in this?

Shatter..........

Ulthok has the spell Shatter ready. I think it wouldn't usually work gainst block ice but in this magic enhanced area it might have the strength to bust up the ice. We could then move the chunks out of the way. Ulthok would target the spell in the space between to door way and the well. I would think we could set up a wall of force between us and the ice in case of blow back up the hall.

The shatter spell is a sound-based attack that affects nonmagical objects of crystal, glass, ceramic, or porcelain, such as vials, bottles, flasks, jugs, windows, mirrors, etc. All such objects within a 3-foot radius of the center of the spell effect are smashed into dozens of pieces by the spell. Objects weighing more than one pound per level of the caster are not affected, but all other objects of the appropriate composition must save vs. crushing blow or be shattered. Alternatively, the spell can be focused against a single item of up to 10 pounds per caster level. Crystalline creatures usually suffer 1d6 points of damage per caster level to a maximum of 6d6, with a saving throw vs. spell for half damage.

Just thinking outside the box.

Barreel.........

Ulthok still has an Oil of Firey Burning left if we really want to cremate Barreel. Sirene used a spell to cremate Amara but I don't remember which one.

I think we should save the oil.

Heads Up

I am writing this Post from a friend's house, because our internet service has been disabled (we share with a neighbor and there are electrical problems in their apartment that has knocked out the internet and electric in their apartment).

Not sure that I will be able to Post again this weekend ???

Roan Roan has received the Heal Spell from Sirene and should be at Full Strength for his Hit Points.

Roan has requested the +2 Dwarven Thrower (Warhammer) and Spiked Medium Shield.

Also the +2 Field Plate Armor to wear over his +3 Elven Chainmail like a Dwarven War Vest, but it Depends upon Tann allowing or not ???
Roan also asked for a Potion of Healing and an Elixer of Health to carry with him (all due respect to Ody posting they went into the Bag of Holding) and as for the request made for Rayne, it us up to Sir Sadaar to decide from what I (and Ody) had posted.

Crushed Ice.....

We really don't know what will work. I'm going to have Ulthok cast Shatter from about 60 yards up the hall. It will center about 3 feet inside the doorway in the ice. Seeing that ice is a crystal of water it may work to break the ice into chunks that can be more easily moved or melted. The amplified magic could actually pulverize the ice. We won't know until the GM rules.

Healing and the like

So far Sirene cast the following healing spells:

Cure Serious on herself.
Cure Critical on Lothor
Heal on Roan

I will have a post up this evening, so if anybody else needs a little healing speak now or forever hold your peace as they say.

As to cremation, Sirene used Produce Flame, which I've still got a few memorized. That said, she'll leave all the funerary stuff to Cor unless asked.

Now, let's see if shattering the ice works.

Potion............

Ulthok used one of Barreel's potions of healing on Peri and the cat to bring them to health. Peri only needed 2/3 and the cat 1/3.

Sorry.............

I haven't been much help recently, I have an outbreak of shingles, which is the chicken pox virus, and I've just not been really perky. I am lucky that it is more itch than pain but still distracting. Not big patches but got it on my right hand and between the last three fingers, forearm and waste line. It's been over a week now and I hope it will subside soon. It usually just affects one side of your body. I am hopeing that when it starts to clear it doesn't flare up on my left side. If you have had chicken pox then you have the shingles virus, it lays dorment in your system but can activate due to stress, reduced immune system or drug reaction. It is most commen in folk over 50.

Hopefully by the time Tann send something after us I'll be better and able to suggest more ideas.

Ring

Would the ring of regeneration have taken care of all of Lothor's injuries. I think he was hit with a heal spell anyway, but let me know if he is not up to speed.

Ring of Regen

A Ring of Regeneration actually only heals 1 point per turn so it would have healed you somewhat but not fully. Rayne's Heal spell has you maxed and good to go. Everyone is at full HP.

Also the +2 Field Plate Armor to wear over his +3 Elven Chainmail like a Dwarven War Vest, but it Depends upon Tann allowing or not ??? Nope that would be two sets of armor worn.
