Hey Gang

I am traveling and ministering and have had scant time to read a few posts this afternoon.

What exactly are we looking for in case I find tjme to write a semi intelligent post before Sunday ???

This post is from my phone while I am sitting here in the ER with a Minister friend I had to drive here after she got home from being in a traffic accident while on a Field Trip

Basically

A power source or item with enough power to enhance Allanan's magic to give him enough str to send the party and himself back to the future.

To make things easier here is part of the post that explains everything sorta

"I have this past eve looked into the problem of returning you and myself to the future" A shocked look quickly setting itself on Maj's face. "And I have as they always say good news and bad. The good is there may indeed be a place steeped in strong magical power to allow the travel through time." A pause to take in a breath and to give the young girl a look to stop her from speaking and he resumed once more.

"However the bad news it is located on the Isle of the Cyclops in a tower/underground fortress of the same name. Though the island is deserted of any type of human settlement it is very close to Cirath Ungole and surely over run by creatures of evil. Rumors have been told that the tower itself is ruled by a Cyclops of immense power and strength, but none have ever confirmed this tale."

Reaching into his robes he withdrew a parchment and moving to a nearby rock spread it out fully revealing it to be a world map. At once you can see that many of the lands from your time are not listed and appear as unsettled. Pointing to the south edge Allanan placed his finger on a group of closely distanced islands.

"The Isle is here, the tower by itself, and the only city close is that of Ara-Kari a port city for mostly pirates and those of ill repute. Though not overly evil its proximity to Cirath Ungole leads it to be a very dangerous city. Why it remains when so many other cities had fallen to the Dark King I cannot say. As I have been there a few times in secret before this war I can mass teleport you all just outside of it, if you wish. From there surely you can find a way to reach the isle."

A Tates Compass............

It would have been cool if the gem Allanan gave Ulthok to use as a beacon for him also acted as a compass to great sources of magic power.

I guess we can make one.???

The Promised Map

The party is at #71 at the bottom and your standing on a well worn stone and gravel path. To the East #72 is some type of large building, perhaps a mansion or castle.

Order of March........

Seeing that we are going cross country we should have an order of march. The ranger out front is a usual and Hammer has already post a action for Roan. So I suggest Roan, Rayne, Cor, Sirene, Ulthok, Aliya, Lothor. That puts rangers out front, frighters front and rear, mages in the middle.

Now we just need to decide where we are going. to the city or the castle. Might be some good stuff at the castle. Might find information on where to go to get a boat. Might find stuff the can help us.

Castle

Roan would be inclined to Scout the Castle and Surrounding Areas, including the Bridge over the Water, before having to go into another City (Ranger Preference).

Am waiting on an Answer from Tann, before writing another Post in regards to going towards the Castle!

Castles vs. cities

Scouting a bit makes sense. However, Lothor would suggest the city. The question seems to be - what is the best way to get a boat or some other method of reaching the other island. Which location is most likely to help achieve that goal?

Lothor would think the city is best for two reasons:
1. It will probably be easier to conceal their intentions in the city, although this might require splitting up to avoid drawing attention. (And Ulthok might be an issue.)
2. Castles are lived in by powerful people. This is a powerful person that has maintained their independence in the shadow of the black land. It seems highly unlikely that whoever lives there will be either friendly to us or happy to help Allanon. Not that we'd use his name, of course, but in general they are likely to be powerful and unfriendly.

But scout away. Perhaps there is a boat that can be acquired. Do any of us have skill as a sailor? I gotta reread Lothor's background - he spent time on ships so he should have some. However, he also got the name "Greenbeard" from his time on ships.

Did we have any extra potions of flying from our flight to the mountain? If so, how many might it take to reach the other island? Is that a possibility? Or must it be a boat?

Castle?

I personally would like to go examine the castle. It is outside the city limits, and is still standing. It also has its own dock, so maybe we could get a boat from there?

Additionally, we are a very well equipped, if worn, group. Since the city is mostly 'pirates and people of ill repute', we'd probably need some way to avoid drawing a ton of attention to ourselves. I don't think we really want to tangle with pirates or thugs right before we go to the Isle of the Cyclops.

I'll try to get a post up tomorrow morning, after I've gotten my odd history test score checked out.

Where to go?

Castle might be good, but you never know.
Trying to see if knowledge of legends and such might shed knowledge on the city. Let's see what that Ancient History Proficiency brings us.

On another note; checked out the char sheet. Tann, think there is some stuff missing. She should have boots of elven kind (worn), druid staff of striking and curing, ring of emotionless action (in belt of many pouches). Also her Intelligence should have been increased by one point from tome of clear thought.

Mithral Mines.........

Well this could go many ways. Pirates to deliver Mithral. Giant and Dwarvs to mine it. The town may be there from the trade routes. The castle could be where the Boss is. Try to rent a ship in a place that gets rich from transporting ore would not seem likely.

But if can find out if the ore gets delivered to Cyclos Island we might figure a way to hitch a ride.

Oh I think we should check out the castle.

direction

Maybe I missed it, but were the carts going from the castle towards the town or the other way around?

If there is away to get away on the sly I think that would be best. If possible.

That goes for everyone double check your sheets just to be safe

@Nomad: The wagons came from behind you headed towards the Castle or city.
